Before you go to the gas station just know if you pay at the pump they put a $95 hold on your account and when you go up to the teller to ask about it she says "oh certain banks do that". This is for the pharmacy. There is a really rude woman that works there in the daytime. No personality , never smiles & just loves to argue with you. I think her name is Tammy? The girl on the register was pleasant but that woman is far from it. Seriously, if you hate your job that much then find another! There are a few employees at this store that should have other jobs! Came here for a quick shopping trip during my most recent visit to PA. Overall the store was clean and organized however, I was looking for a specific item that the website said was in stock, and every time I asked an employee, they told me what aisle to look in. I would have liked it if they could have showed me where the product was, especially since many of them were pointing me in different directions. Other than that, it was a fine visit. read more

This is a very clean store with friendly managers and employees. I was in the store the other day at 6AM - for seniors and at the same time I have a cancer issue I've had for years. I was in the store the other morning and wanted to buy a product that was on sale - out of stock. I called this AM to customer service and explained my problem. They are sending me a Rain Check in the mail tomorrow. Everyone says customer service is a dead issue but ladies and gentlemen you have revived it - CUDOS to you and your Corporation. I love this Giant. It in a big and updated store. The food always has good dates. These other people are crazy, this is a five star store.

My issues: 1. As a customer you should not have to go to each department individually to order multiple trays. How am I supposed to know what tray come from what department? (be prepared to take a good amount of time just in the ordering process) 2. Ensuring an order to be a certain way and not being able to meet guidelines as promised. 3. Informing customers that they must pick up at different locations. 5. Educate your departments on what Giant offers. 6. If an item is not picked up on due date why wouldn't you follow up? I did not receive a confirmation email and due to traveling I was unable to check in with the store until the day before the event. The order was not found and luckily Giant was able to take my order and the two women who helped me where extremely polite. I let the staff know that I was not going to do the pickup but will send someone else since I was hosting. The day of pick up went well, until I realized that following week we had missed the bread bowl. In this case it wasn't that big of a deal since we had tons of food and it really went un notice. I didn't bother calling the store nor making a complaint as I blamed it more on the pickup person (but little did I know). When I got there I went straight to Deli (since that is where I had ordered my previous trays). When my number was called I told the gentlemen I had to order multiple party trays and told me he was unable to help. I then asked for management which then he pointed to the front of the store, so I walk to the front of the store. When I had gotten there I explained I needed to order multiple party trays and asked who can take my order. The lady working told me I must independently order each tray at each department (I was honestly surprised at the response. I find it a bit odd that Giant makes the customers walk all around the store trying to figure out where each tray is created. Especially since I don't shop at giant nor did I have any idea where each tray was located, I didn't even know they had so many departments). A young lady by the name of Sarah R herd us talking and offered to help me. We slowly made our way through 4 different departments, in what we had to back tract twice because the trays were not created in the department we thought. At this point, I was extremely annoyed. We finally get to the baker in which I find an employee who was extremely unknowledgeable. Thankfully Sarah knew a thing or two and made sure that the filling and cream was correctly written down because according to the employee he didn't even know giant offered. While ordering the cake we had a manager stop by and I expressed the frustration I had. I also brought up my experience about not receiving a tray 2 weeks prior. Her response "you never picked up the tray we waited a week and allowed my employees to eat it" I was almost dumbfounded by this. I was never informed about pick up and having to go to each department individually! I then asked if there were anyway all trays can be combined in one location on day of pick up due to time management. The Manager said yes, and it was noted on the bakery form, that the whole order needs to be combined at Deli. By the time I was completed the ordering process I had spent an hour and 20 minutes in Giant. Pick up day- The party was a surprise party, food was scheduled to be picked up at 1:30, Guest arriving at two. Since we were getting catering from another local restaurant I scheduled that pick up at 1:45 thinking 15 minutes to run in and run out would be enough time. Guess what!?!? 2 o'clock came and I had no appetizers for my guest. My food runner was left running around to each department trying to figure out who had what, he did not return until 2:15 and that was not included our catering order from the other restaurant. We were expecting our birthday person to arrive at 2:30. Since everything was backed up 45mins, I had to personally run to the other restaurant, missing my mother's reaction to her surprise birthday. Let's just say I have no problem paying more for Weis's trays then dealing with Giant. read more

Horrible experience! Please do not order anything from Giant Catering! I ordered food for my son's graduation party, and when I went to pick it up, everything was completely messed up! I placed my order well in advance and it was over $300. When I got there to pick it up, the only thing they had for me to pick up was a small sandwich tray ( should have 30 chicken salad sandwiches and there was maybe 15 with little to almost no salad in them) and the pulled pork. The pulled pork was completely FROZEN! I ordered 2 trays and was given one frozen! Imagine my horror, not only not having enough food but now having to worry about how I was defrosting and cooking one hour before my party! I ordered brownies, multiple fruit trays, vegetable trays, hummus trays, pulled pork trays and sandwiches and everything was completely wrong and not there for pick up. I received email confirmations for my order, yet nothing was prepared. Please don't waste your time or money, you will be very disappointed. I will never order from Giant Catering again! read more

I have been going there for years and never had an issue. Just a typical clean food store. The past month I have had to throw away ALL of my fruit within a couple of days. I went there on 6/15 and on 6/17 had to throw away moldy grapes! Right now in sitting at my desk eating a KIND bar which I juts noticed expired on 6/10- today is 6/19. Plan on calling the manager today because this is out of hand. read more

Giant Food has a great selection and good prices, but I am really on my last nerve with the service. I believe it is a corporate/management problem. Most of the employees are really great; if you need help in produce or an individual department, people are great. Some of the checkers are great. Floral selection is exceptional. Great salad bar. Store is extremely clean. But three deal breakers with service. 1) They don't use the number system at the deli counter. There is always a line. Customers are on their own to police the line. Which to our credit, we do a good job. But still. Shouldn't be our job. 2) Over reliance on the self-checkout. In the late afternoon, dinnertime, there will be a big line at self-checkout with too-few (we-re talking 2) full service checkers. It's frustrating to make me wait to do something that shouldn't be my job. 3)The last couple times I've waited for the full service checkout, the checker actually stood there and watched me bag my own groceries. It was just 2 or 3 bags, I don't mind helping, but come on. Again, not my job. And I've had checkers complain about my re-usable bags being difficult. And make a negative comment about an expensive item. This checker turned out to be some kind of a supervisor. And not asking for my bonus card. Ok, I forgot too. But not my job. Then I have to go wait in line at the service counter to get the price adjustment. No apology. This has happened several times. I'll often see a group of corporate looking guys standing around talking who don't seem to appreciate that a customer is trying to maneuver a cart around them. While someone is trying to self-checkout while wrangling a couple of kids. So perhaps this a top-down problem? Anyway, I'm making it a point to take my business to the many other grocers (Weis, Redners, Freed's, take your pick) that appreciated their customers. Can't wait for a Wegman's. read more
