I love this supermarket it's now my favorite place to shop. And the Chinese takeout is the best in the area.

Customerservice could definitely improve. They need more people at the customer service desk. I don't know where the managers are in this place. Doesn't seem like someone steps up to the customer service desk unless they're called. Also, I have a giant card with a phone number from out of state. It would not accept it here, yet I use all the time in Camphill Mechanicsburg, where I opened the account. One of the staff member suggested I get a new card here in York Pennsylvania. Not realizing I need a new phone number. Usually in other Giants, if they realize you need help, someone will from the staff will help you out and insert a number so you could use the discounts, without using your own card. I went across the street to Weis and my phone number had no problem being accepted on checkout. Did not buy anything at giant. read more

I ordered a lb of Lebanon bologna and 1/2 lb of American cheese from Fran in the deli. Not only did she take off her gloves and touch her face, but when I brought it up to her she just smirked. I ended up leaving the products sit in the cooler near the deli. read more

This is for the pharmacy. I have never had a bad experience there. I've always had positive transactions. Well they have a fella there named BEN. I've not seen such empathy in a long time. He is pleasant, informative, respectful & more helpful than anyone I've dealt with. I'm truly grateful to have interacted with him. I would give a 10 for him alone. Hello, Today @ Giant Food Stores # 6087 I attempted to make a purchase with my Healthy Benefits + card as they are contracted to accept as a form of payment for the disabled thru Aetna Medicare. As you can see from the transaction history I have been able to use these benefits many times with this location on my phone as described in the attached e-mail from Healthy Benefits +, Aetna medicare's contractor. You can also see they are listed as a retail location that is in network. And last but not least you can see that this retailer's own rewards card is in a phone app. However on this day, April 06, 2022 @ the cash register next to the chinese food store Teresa Meeks who has accepted this as a form of payment in the past informed me it was their store's policy not to do so. I had then spoken to a male in front of the customer service desk being identified as the "Store Manager" who told me that they can't scan anything on my phone as it could be malicious code that could invade their systems. At this time I am requesting a reasonable accommodation to the disabled under Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act to this new policy of not accepting the payment method Giant Food Stores has contracted to accept from the disabled under medicare to the disabled for Aetna's members as described in this e-mail from Soultran LLC. If Giant Food Stores is not to accept this form of payment Ms. Meeks herself has scanned from my phone in the past their contract with Soultran LLC must be terminated so that they can be replaced as a retailer in this vital health program to the disabled with such few retailers in the neighborhood. read more

I stop here a lot for lunch. They have a Chinese place,salad bar,and small carryout items. The food court sitting area is always dirty. I never see anyone doing any type of cleaning. The bench seats are all but worn through. If you have a problem with check in the giant side of the counter Good luck. The will send you to the front to customer service.. I get a hour for lunch. Some days it takes it all. Attitude of staff..... Some care about there job more than others. It can be hard to get waited on some days. read more

Yo the Chinese food that they have in the store is awesome. Always a long line and it moves pretty fast. It's not my normal store I go to but I go for the Chinese food when the wife gives me orders. Always liked this store. Good selections. BUT, You really need to check your receipt BEFORE you leave. They definitely have an issue of overcharging. Either by not giving you the sale price or just ringing up your purchases at inflated prices. ( my wife just brought home deli roast beef at $55 lb.. Crab meat at a 200% mark up,, ect.ect.. Depending on who is manning the desk you may or may not get reimbursed. Much easier if you catch them at the check out instead of days later having them look at you like your trying to get something for nothing at the service desk. This Giant is one of the first I checked out when I moved to york. It has been updated a few times and is probably the largest in the area. They have a very large parking lot and is in the same shopping center with Starbucks, Lowes and Red Lobster. There is a Taco Bell next door which is convenient. I like the large produce section and the dual entrances make it easy to enter an exit - I just stopped in for some advil on this visit and was able to use the easy scan and get to my car in minutes. I usually park along the north side of the building near the Valvoline and enter by the cafe. The pricing is competitive and even though I have shopped across the street at the Weis Market, I just prefer the store layout at Giant - you will be hard pressed to not find what you are looking for here. From flowers and deli to organic and gourmet cheese they keep the store very well stocked. read more

Not that a review on such a big grocery store is ever going to make a difference, but here are a few reasons for my one star. Their one manager, I can't remember his name, very scrawny and tall always in blue, called me a bitch to my face. They're constantly restocking at 3pm, the busiest time, when they're 24 hour store. And to top it all off, I recently bought steaks, brought them home and went to cook them the SAME DAY and they were all rotten. ALL SIX. I called and got some rude young girl who told me I needed to prove that they were rotten and that they couldn't help me unless I had my receipt. read more

I tried that Giant Direct today for the first time. Not good. They are there only to sell. And they don't understand what customer service is. I ordered a honey ham on line and went to pick it up. The one lady brought a few bags to the car and said the ham is not available and couldn't give me a different brand but there are some in the store that I could pick up myself. I went inside the store and couldn't find other brands of honey ham, so I walked to the customer service desk and explained that it's fine if they don't have it, but I want them to hold one for me when it comes in even if it's in a week or more and message me when it's in, so I can come get it. We'll, they don't understand that concept. All they want is to sell, not to provide a service. They can send you messages a few times to help pick up the items, but not get you what you really want. I had to drive about an hour to 3 other stores to find it. Not planning to do this Giant Direct again. read more

Come here all the time! Love that this Giant is 24 hours. They always seem to have more of a selection and fresher produce than the one nearest to me. This Giant has beer and a mini cafe to work in. Even better is their Chinese food, believe it or not. It's really good. My mom and I like to pick some up and take it to go. Will keep coming back here. At least until York gets a trader joes, wegmans or whole foods. read more

Terrible customer service: I went to the store and forgot my card. I spoke to the customer service desk and evening manager (?) who agreed to suspend my order for 30 to 45 minutes and asked if I had refrigerated items in the cart which I said yes so they could keep them cool and they agreed. They said they would hold it and put my cart to the side. I returned less than 45 minutes after I spoke with customer service, and they stated they thought I wasn't coming back for my items and that there were refrigerated items in my cart so they already returned all of them back over ten minutes prior to me getting there later (I left the desk at 6:13 and returned to the store at 6:55). I'm very upset with this experience especially when the staff seemed understanding at first when I spoke to them but didn't care when I returned or apologize but just told me they kept my receipt so I could find the items on my list again. This is not my first negative experience at this location, and I likely won't be returning. read more

I like this Giant store. The store is always clean when I am in there and is relatively well stocked. Prices on sale items are reasonable and in some areas beat Wal-Mart. Quality on the fresh produce and other perishables is solid a d definitely a step above Wal-Mart and Aldi but not Weis. Decent bonus card program and promotions make this a go to place for my family's shopping. read more

I went there today to pick up my three prescriptions and after giving be pharmacist my GoodRx codes he refused to give me one of my prescriptions. I asked him why and he told me it was company policy. I told him I was confused why he was able to fill it without the GoodRx code but then refuse to give it to me after giving him the code even though it was already filled and bagged and he literally yelled at me through the plexiglass that it was his decision and I needed to settle down and watch my attitude. He told me that if I didn't like it that I could take my prescriptions and go elsewhere. He had his shirt unbuttoned down to the middle of his chest and did not have a name tag on so I asked him what his name was and he refused to give it to me. I went and spoke with the store manager Deanna about the problem. She apologized for the issue and told me that he was the pharmacy manager and would have a word with him about his attitude amd the "policy". I went back over to take a photograph of his shirt unbuttoned down to the middle of his chest and he wasn't wearing his mask properly, he had it pulled down under his chin while he was filling prescriptions. There is a sign saying that all transactions are recorded on video so I asked the manager to please watch the video and decide if it actually is sanitary for him to be filling prescriptions with no mask and his chest hair hanging out, I would never go back to that Pharmacy ever again , thank you CVS for taking care of me. read more

This giant is very clean and well-stocked. They have a great Organic section. They sell beer and the produce is always fresh. 6 self checkout lines makes waiting a minimum . Just an all around great place to shop. read more

My family has recently become Aldi shoppers. I know it is not for everyone, but my missing star is for Giant pricing compared to Aldi. I do enjoy the store selection and the Beer Garden. Mix-a-Six prices are reasonable with decent selection. We use the bakery as an early morning treat. I take my little man with me and we pick out 4 muffins and 1/2 dozen donuts. I think they are a little less sweet compared to the sugar overload from Maple. It seems like protocol to have one less cashier than needed... but that is almost any grocery outlet. We used the Peapod service when my wife was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and was not able to move easily in and out of the house. They had the option to include a CSA box which we really enjoyed. We will frequent Giant when necessary any other trip will be to market or Aldi. read more

I will never go on a Sunday! They were out of a lot of vegetables, fruit & chicken. All the things I needed! The service was great though.

While visiting York on business travel, I stopped in to grab my staple and additional goodies for my sweet tooth. Though I went in toward the later evening, I was surprised to see their produce and bakery areas fully stocked. Their produce looked fresh, free of bruises along the apple and banana selection. They had entire shelves of single-serving doughnuts available at 8PM! How fantastic! My dentist wouldn't approve, but she doesn't have to know. They have a fairly large selection for those customers whom shop organic-only. They also sell Kombucha, which is the number one item I look for within a grocery store. The associate let me know that their shipment for these probiotic drinks is on Friday. Just FYI. Friendly staff; willing to acknowledge you with eye contact and assist with your inquires (without acting as though you are being the biggest bother of all time). Great selection of just about everything. Perfect hours; 24 hours. Well-stocked. read more

The shelves are stocked very well. If you want the regular canned and boxed goods, it's fine. The meat area is well done. The other extra areas are not as good. The deli counter is the worst. Five people are behind the counter, yet only two are waiting on people. Some of the guys have long hair and beards but only wear ball caps. YUCK! The seafood counter people are so inexperienced, they don't know what half the fish is, and the one young woman doesn't even know what basic weights are. (I asked for a third of a lb of scallops, and she didn't know what that meant). The floors in the produce section are messy and sticky. read more
