Despite the number and range of customers it all seems to flow throughout the two dining rooms well. The counter is tiny and while waiting to settle up you do manage to feel in the way but you can distract yourself by wondering if you could possibly fit one of the yummy looking muffins or slices! I never can after a good sized brunch, but the option is there! The coffee is good (although I have better) and the menu has something to appeal to everyone-the usual brunch standards as well as a few unique options to mix things up. They were the first café I ever frequented to have a communal table and it is huge and suits the second large room perfectly. The kitchen produces classic café fare and do a pretty mean steak sandwich with a delicious homemade sauce, and the chips aren't bad too. They have a great selection of pasta and fresh specials to chose from. The coffee really depends on who makes it, but 9 times out of ten, this place does it right. With 5 people or 50, there is always a cool buzz in the tin pot air. The staff can be caught laughing and singing and it just makes you want to join in the fun. Pulled Pork Sandwich: not like pulled pork you'll find in the US as it isn't overly sweet. Jerk Fries: absolute bomb! Super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Must order! There's a decent bakery selection as well, and service is quite prompt and friendly. They're also relatively accommodating for variations to their menu (e.g. if you didn't want something in your meal). Staff are also pretty knowledgeable about the menu. I'm not a fan of their toast though, which always seems to come out really hard and almost impossible to cut. I'm not sure why that's the case; maybe the bread is heated twice or something but there have been times when people I've eaten at G&F with have had to abandon their knives and just tear at their toast with their hands and teeth to get some. Parking is just whatever you can come by on the street, but I've usually just walked here since it's relatively local.
