My review for Giffin's Tree Service is based on the unprofessional actions of the owner, Rick Giffin. At the tail end of 3 projects that they did on my property, and $10,000 later, I had to tell the Rick that I was not pleased with the amount of gravel that they'd put at the entrance of my driveway. There are many shipping trucks that come in and out of my driveway daily for my own business. They laid the gravel down way too thick and trucks were basically swimming through it and creating ruts. Rick, the owner, had sent 3 different workers here to remove some of this gravel at 3 different times. He drops guys off at different times of the day with only rake, and leaves them here and it ends up being put on me to tell the guys what needs to be done over and over again with each new guy he drops off. It should never have to be on the homeowner over and over again to explain what needs to be done. I grew very weary of this as any homeowner would. It was a simple task and none of the guys he dropped off here could do it. Totally incompetent. Rick came here with another one of his employees a month ago and I had to tell him that I was not pleased with the repeated guys he drops off here, and the fact that they put way too much gravel in the entrance. Rick started yelling at me all the way up my driveway! I then had to tell him that I'd like him to leave my property right now. Any homeowner should be able to tell the contractor when they aren't pleased with something, without getting yelled at. He was yelling so loudly and whaling his arms around, and acting irate that I was glad I'd asked him to leave. No homeowner should have to deal with such unprofessionalism, ever! I asked him to get his tools and remove his self from my property immediately. While his employee was gathering their tools, Rick approached me and was shouting at me at the top of his lungs, 16" from my face, spitting his cotton mouth on me... how disgusting! He went on about how he was getting beat up from all sides this week and how he wasn't taking anymore. All of this because I had to tell him that there was too much gravel at my drives entrance and that I will not continue to micromanage his people. That is not my job, it's his. When I tried to talk to him, he put his hand up in my face as if to say "talk to the hand". This is seriously rude, disrespectful and just down right nasty. He then walked away and tried making a personal attack on me by stating, "no wonder your single". So, I made the same comment back to him. Rick actually treated me like he was arguing with his ex-wifey! He's got serious issues when it comes to dealing with single female homeowners and I've got serious issues with contractors that verbally assault me because I'm a female homeowner. Every homeowner in this area deserves to know what has happened here, so that they can be aware of the unprofessionalism Rick displays. In the 5 months it took them to do 3 projects here, his employees were in a bad habit of borrowing tools from me and actually broke some of my tools, because they come unprepared. They do not finish a job before going onto the next. You never know when or if they are going to come work on your job. They show up in the afternoon and put a few hours in, then they're done and take off. None of them seem to get out of bed early enough to accomplish much with the day. Majority of his employees are either homeless, alcoholics, on meth or some other type of drug that they're either currently using or recovering from. Twice, Rick brought over certain employees and then took me aside to tell me to "keep an eye on him, he's a thief of opportunity", or "don't trust him, he's into meth". WHY does he bring these types of characters around me and my home? The world has enough trouble in it, little lone a contractor inviting it onto my property. Rick's son had stole $800 from me about 5 yrs. ago. His father had expressed to me how badly he felt about what his son had done, but that he was grateful that I was giving him work here, in effort to try and make up for what his heroin addicted son had done years before. Now his father acts this way to me? Something is seriously wrong with Rick Giffin and his son, as well as his employees. Rick considers himself to be a hustler and is quite arrogant. He does not listen to the homeowner and doesn't bother returning to apologize for his severe unprofessionalism. HOMEOWNERS BEWARE of him and anyone he brings onto your property, in your home and especially around your family! He also runs a side business and sells marijuana and Suboxone and more than likely additional forms of drugs. Gee Rick, I guess your Lucky jeans aren't so lucky anymore are they, smarty pants. You more than deserve this terrible review after how you've totally disrespected me. I waited for weeks for you to man up and apologize, but you didn't, only furthering my negative thoughts toward you. read more

Had a small issue with Giffin's Tree Service, but they went beyond my expectations in correcting the issue. In addition my yard is getting more sunlight that will make for a beautiful yard going forward. read more
