I called to place an order for a birthday cake, since it says online that they do them. A lady answered, and said she couldn't help me but her manager could. She didn't remember her managers number so she asked her, and her manager provided her phone number, but wouldn't talk to me over the phone. Instead I was told to text her, and so I did, and never got a response. Pretty silly that the manager was right there and just wouldn't help, and then I followed the direction to text, and never got a response. I did go in person once previously a few months ago to pick up my online order of cupcakes and they were out of two of the flavors even though I ordered 5 days in advance, so they had to switch out of two cupcakes and it took 15 minutes to get my order ready. When I discovered there was a Gigi Cupcakes here in Clarksville decided to stop by and get some for my husband and I; for I had some a few years ago at when I lived in Nashville. I get it that prices increase due to inflation but the ones I got weren't worth $4.25. As a treat my daughter and I stopped here, she has wanted to for some time. I am not a big fan on bakery items. We both got a special cupcake. Mine was a smores cupcake. the cake part was really good. But I admit i tossed the majority of the frosting as it was just WAY too much. My daughter was happy as a clam, she ate the entire thing. The shop is a cute shop, as it is very clean and has an area for the kiddos opposite regular sized tables. There is also outside seating that is shared space in the plaza. The prices are pretty steep at $3+ per cupcake and cheesecake. But for a boutique cupcake shop, the price is standard. We ordered the strawberry shortcake cupcake, the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake, and the salted vanilla cheesecake. The cupcakes were okay. The strawberry shortcake had more icing than cake. It tasted good but not good enough to qualify as being a boutique cupcake because the flavor wasn't very strong. The chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake was good and flavorful. The cheesecake was HORRIBLE. It was dry, not creamy, had no flavor, and didn't have enough crust. It was hands down the worst cheesecake I've ever had. I absolutely appreciate the fact that Gigi's carries not just 1, but several options for Gluten Free cupcakes. The chocolate cake with chocolate icing is my favorite, clearly i'm traditional... but they also have some fun seasonal flavors if you are more adventurous.
