The paths to walk are parity paved and circle the park. On a few occasions I've seen people in different areas set up a volleyball net and play. So the park has ample room. Next visit I plan to do a little more walking around. This is a huge land mass and there are some areas you cannot get to via vehicle. Pioneer Frontier Park has something for kids of all ages. Slides and things to climb on for toddlers. Bigger slides and things to climb on for your older kids. Swings for all sizes, and even a kid powered merry go round. Let's not forget the fence enclosed splash pad, which is great for keeping wet kids in and dry kids out. The equipment is in excellent condition, and the grounds are clean. The only slight drawback is that the play area is covered with mulch instead of recycled tire, so a fall is a little more painful.

Also the terrain is not difficult but hiking shoes are definitely the best option, but you'd be fine wearing sneakers.
