A spread of recreated buildings outside offers opportunities for perusal. The most aesthetically distinctive site is a large spring of the sort that seem more common in Kentucky than Tennessee, which evinces a robust blue color and empties into a clear stream. The spring itself is off-limits, but the stream is open for wading. All of these sites are within sight of the initial entrance, but a trek uphill reveals picnic areas, an amphitheater, and a couple of mile trail through the woods. Between the different elements of the park, it was easy to spend a couple of hours there, and best of all, it's free, though the gift shop warrants examination.

Luna isn't a fan of being sprayed, but we got her close enough for a bit of splash to help cool her down. It seemed like a great spot for dogs who enjoy the water! Unfortunately, the pedestrian bridge was under construction during our visit, so we couldn't walk across it, but we still enjoyed the view from the park. Overall, it's a lovely, dog-friendly spot to relax and cool off on a warm day.

The park features a nice stage that hosts local musicians. Parking is plentiful with space around the park and under the bridge. The area has a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. A local outfitter also offers water activities rentals like paddle boards canoes and motorized ski. Definitely worthy of a visit!

I wouldn't have given it that high a rating but jt was a nice hike. When you first start the trail there is a fork for the loop, either you go down into the forest or go straight along the cliff. Most people we ran into seemingly walked down into the forest first, which meant they walked uphill most of the hike. We went straight along the cliff wall and ended up walking down hill for most of the 5 mile loop. It really was only the last half a mile that was uphill to get back to the start of the trail. I highly advise to go straight to make less work on yourself esp if you're elderly or with young families. I saw a few people turn around because the hike up was becoming too much. We had three children 5 and under who didn't feel tired until we were into the half mile uphill for reference on the different experiences you can have depending on the route you take.

This weekend I came across many people and the majority had their pups with them. Along the way there was plenty of seating and trash cans which were strategically placed. And though this trail is considered easy, there are a few hills that make it moderate. You will definitely get a workout if you visit. Came here with Troop 513 and our Boy Scouts and adults really enjoyed a truly wonderful and satisfying experience. The cave exploration is definitely an adventure and challenging and pushes you to the limit while being guided by experienced guides. Our cave guides were Tristan and Emily and both were very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable of the cave and their experience definitely made what would have otherwise been a very frustrating and difficult task a fun and truly memorable experience. Tip: you can bring your phone if you aren't afraid to possibly damage or lose it as you will be crawling and squeezing through many parts of the adventure. 5 stars for the cave adventure and 5 stars for the campgrounds. Thank you for all you do for the scouts and making this great experience available to the public!
