Communication was extremely limited--calls and messages largely went unanswered, and I was given little to no meaningful updates about the status of my car. After waiting over a week with no progress and no clear answers, I finally went to pick up my vehicle--only to find that absolutely no work had been done. Despite initial assurances, it became clear that nothing had even been started. When I tried to get an explanation, I was met with a dismissive and unprofessional attitude rather than any accountability. The lack of transparency, combined with the poor communication and apparent indifference, made the entire experience incredibly disappointing. Leaving a customer without their vehicle for 10 days with no work completed and minimal communication is simply unacceptable. I would strongly caution others before trusting this shop with their time or vehicle.

In my one purchase from Michigan Auto Recyclers, I've had a very difficult experience. I ordered…read moreparts for my vehicle to be shipped from Michigan to east coast, and the shipping has been extremely delayed due to mistakes and miscommunications at this business. First, it was very difficult for me to receive a tracking number after I had purchased my Parts. Employee's informed me they would call me back with updates on the shipping, but I had to reach out half a dozen times to receive any update whatsoever. I was often told that 'The computer was frozen', amongst other excuses, including an employee not knowing how to attach a PDF of my receipt to an email, and me having to guide them through the process. I did not receive any shipping information for over two weeks after I placed the order and payed nearly $1000 to this business. Then, after my item was finally delivered to the drop off point, Michigan Auto Recyclers had made a mistake on the paperwork and the drop off location was unable to properly process the package, delaying the whole experience by 3 or 4 days. Dealing with this business was a huge ordeal and I can not say I would reccomened them. I'm sure some customers have had positive experiences, and they are an honest business that means well, but the level of incompetence was completely unreasonable in this instance. I have no expectations at this point, but from a customer perspective I would hope Michigan Auto Recyclers would be willing to make things right with a partial shipping cost reimbursement for having to spend a considerable amount of unnecessary time and energy to deal with the incompetence of this transaction.

Starting with the good. While their loaner cars are older and not the best at least they have…read moreloaner cars. That's where the good ends. They greatly over charge for parts and labor. Example; the parts they replaced I was charged $180.49 for them and $336 for labor. I called two different Ford dealerships and both said the parts are $70.00. Ford quoted me $375.00 for parts and labor. Hemlock Auto & Alignment charged me $528.12 for the repair. Yes they got me in a couple weeks before the Ford dealer could. Had I known up front how expensive they are I would have waited. After I did get a cost if I had decided to take my car to Ford for the repairs it would have e cost me $160.00 for the quote they gave me. Add that to the $375 at Ford and I'm back up to the same price. Unlike many other businesses they do not Honor Military or Veterans or offer any other type discount. They will not install your own parts even if they are OEM parts. I cannot recommend this establishment or will I ever go back to them for any future repairs. And yes the Ford Dealer has newer, and nicer loaner cars too.
