When I had an eye ER a few years back, Janelle spoke with the Dr & got me preapproved to make in 2 payments. Cheaper? Where? Because I recently asked at Walmart & They were $150 just for the exam. You get what you pay for. This clinic saved my eye as far as I'm concerned. I have a reoccurring ocular abrasion that even the ER couldn't help & it cost me $700 there just to have to turn around & go here where he got it right!

Ordered sunglasses as well -- those are ok... had an appt scheduled to return as the Dr ran out of time... but made one a week earlier to correct these lenses... he canceled that one... arrived today ( a 1 hour trip each way) only to be told after an hour wait he would not be able to see me!!!!! He knows I am moving so apparently he doesn't want to waste time on me!!! I am demanding a refund on the computer glasses!!! Do not use this optometrist!!!! Save yourself time!!!!

So, i just moved here from San Francisco, Ca. I knew that upon getting up here i needed to go…read moredirectly to an eye doctor and get my cataracts removed. I called the hospital (eye care center i had chosen while still in San Francisco) in Spokane for a recommendation and this was the eye doctor they recommended. So, i made an appointment and was super pleased with the office. Peggy (i think i got her name right) was awesome and made sure stuff went out to my insurance and would be covered, except for my co-pay which she sent a bill for (i expected one but since this insurance is new to me, i wasn't sure what that would be). I saw Dr. Schmidt, who was wonderful and explained that i would not have to go all the way to Spokane for my surgery - we could do it right here in Grand Coulee (having grown up in a small town and being from a large city i was not expecting that and am just thrilled to have my surgery so close to me). Dr. Schmidt was able to see far more of my eye than my doctor in SF had been able to, was able to grade my cataracts more thoroughly/accurately and was able to explain it all to me in a way that put me at ease. I'd go here for all eye care period. My husband who wears glasses will be going here as well. And honestly, it's places like this that make me grateful i moved here (ok well the peace and quiet up here does that too but amazing health and eye care makes for an awesome perk!).

It's sort of like if Lowe's, Home Depot, Bass Pro, Tractor Supply, your favorite fly fishing shop we're all rolled into one store, with only the best parts manifested in the aisles. And that's to say nothing of the saddlery, garden center, farm supply, and livestock sections, to name a few. The service here from every member of the staff borders on annoying, but in the most positive way... Everyone on the floor, asks you if you need assistance, but they don't pester you. One of them I've ever connected with is knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to not only make the sale, but make you happy about it. On a recent trip, my son popped a hole in his waders-- not a great thing when you're standing waste deep in 30° alkaline water. The gentleman and the fly shop went out of his way to help us find a pair that fit him, and honored the clearance sale price to get him a $400 pair of waiters for under 70 bucks. More recently, the same kid a year older needed a pair of gloves to endure an unseasonable cold spell that had hit the area. One of the nice gals on the floor, explained that they were switching over to spring, but went out of her way to help him find an inexpensive pair of gloves to keep on fishing. Incredible selection, nothing locked up behind security glass like we have in Los Angeles County, and did I mention the cute little baby chicks of every variety? They don't travel on the airplane very well, but if I had a piece of land up there, I'd have chickens all over it because of this place. Hands-down, this is the best outfitter store I've ever visited, and that's saying something. We visit Mac once a year for Fishing, and no trip is complete without at least a few stops at North 40. We may not be frequent visitors, but we're customers for life.

My entire family goes to Vision Source and we couldn't be happier with the service we receive…read morethere. Where they really wowed us was when we took our 2 year old to get her eyes checked. Our child is an extremely strong willed child that doesn't trust strangers easily. Dr. Barnes was a magician with our daughter and was able to do a complete eye exam without having to dialate her eyes. It was truly amazing to see. A full exam and not traumatic at all. I would recommend anyone with kids to go see him.
