I wholeheartedly wish that there was a North 40 outfitters store in my native Southern California. But as my younger brother says whenever we visit, this place could not exist like this in SoCal. It's sort of like if Lowe's, Home Depot, Bass Pro, Tractor Supply, your favorite fly fishing shop we're all rolled into one store, with only the best parts manifested in the aisles. And that's to say nothing of the saddlery, garden center, farm supply, and livestock sections, to name a few. The service here from every member of the staff borders on annoying, but in the most positive way... Everyone on the floor, asks you if you need assistance, but they don't pester you. One of them I've ever connected with is knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to not only make the sale, but make you happy about it. On a recent trip, my son popped a hole in his waders-- not a great thing when you're standing waste deep in 30° alkaline water. The gentleman and the fly shop went out of his way to help us find a pair that fit him, and honored the clearance sale price to get him a $400 pair of waiters for under 70 bucks. More recently, the same kid a year older needed a pair of gloves to endure an unseasonable cold spell that had hit the area. One of the nice gals on the floor, explained that they were switching over to spring, but went out of her way to help him find an inexpensive pair of gloves to keep on fishing. Incredible selection, nothing locked up behind security glass like we have in Los Angeles County, and did I mention the cute little baby chicks of every variety? They don't travel on the airplane very well, but if I had a piece of land up there, I'd have chickens all over it because of this place. Hands-down, this is the best outfitter store I've ever visited, and that's saying something. We visit Mac once a year for Fishing, and no trip is complete without at least a few stops at North 40. We may not be frequent visitors, but we're customers for life. read more

My wife and I visit the store in Lewiston a few times per year. This was our first trip to the Omak location. Keith in the fly shop is awesome! He thoroughly answered all of our questions and was very helpful with some maps and information. He provided a level of customer service second to none. Gave us a card and told us to call if we had any other questions. Top notch. Very nicely stocked fly fishing section. The rest of the store was also very nice. Extremely clean. Wow, what's not to like? We travel past the Omak North 40 store about 4-6 times a year on the way to our favorite lake to camp/fish, and we NEVER miss an opportunity to stop in and re-load on fishing gear. It is hands down better than Cabela's (and I'm a Cabela's guy) It has everything I could possibly need for lakes/fishing in Central Washington. However, they were out of a certain stick worm that is my favorite last time I came by, so I figured I'd just order it from Amazon, Cabela's, Bass Pro or Tackle Warehouse, but NONE of them had it... SO, I went to the North 40 website and they had it! I ordered 7 bags of them and they arrived promptly and exactly what I had ordered. I'm extremely happy with this store! read more

This is Disneyland for any hunter/fisherman/cowboy - or someone who pretends they are those things like some of my friends here in Seattle. The staff is legit, the product and showroom floor are as tidy as it gets - I feel like this is what Wal-Mart would be if it had all of it's teeth and could pass a drug test. read more

Ok. So. I don't know about North40 in general, but this store, Justin and Andy in particular, are rockstars. I cannot overstate how awesome they are. Bought an expensive log splitter from them, had some issues with getting the wrong model, justin sent the replacement out that day, delivered an hour and a half from the store so I didn't have to drive back there. The replacement then seized within an hour of use. Justin then upgraded us to the top line product. Gave it to us at no cost. And generally made what was a very frustrating process into a breeze. Any store can make a clerical mistake, or have a product fail. It is how they respond to those issues that sets them apart. How a company responds when things don't go perfectly is what determines if they are worth doing business with in the future. North40 Omak stands behind their products and goes above and beyond to support their customers. They have earned my business for life. I'll drive 1.45 hours any day for the peace of mind that comes with their customer support. North40 take corporate take note, managers like Justin and Andy are assets to your company. read more

North 40 Outfitters - Sporting Goods Near Me - Omak, Washington

Omak has suffered from a poor selection of stores with equally poor inventories for many years. I was recently visiting my parents over the winter holidays and got my first chance to go check out the store. Over the holiday weekend the store was busy every time I went in. I was told that they had a good sporting goods department and I was not disappointed. As far as Omak and the surrounding area Big R is hands down the best place for fishing and hunting supplies. Huge selection of firearms at the lowest prices I can find on or offline. Their fishing department puts all other stores in the area to shame. When I lived in Omak it was almost a 2 hour drive to get any comparable selection of hunting and fishing equipment. On top of that the service was friendly and their other departments seemed just as well stocked as the sporting goods. Big R is probably the best store to come to the area in a long time. read more

The associates working here are super cool. If someone does not know the answer to a particular question concerning a product, the associate will stay with you until the question is answered. This place goes out of their way to make the customer happy. The people working here are also knowledgeable about the products. Plus, the items sold are at a reasonable price. This place has great product but some of the attitudes in there are pretty, condescending. I asked 2 questions about different things to 2 different people and they acted like I should just know the answer. They gave me this little "well dumbs hit........ you don't know? kind of vibe". Well if I knew I would not have asked. Later a nice gentleman helped me out so not all the employees are belittling. I own 2 businesses and if any of my employees were snotty to a customer like these 2 they would get fired. I left and spent over $300 at home depot. The help at home depot was nice and when I asked questions they wanted to help. Probably will not go back to north 40. Customers are your bread and butter, treat them so. read more

Just exchanged a pair of boots I bought for my daughter for her birthday. I was told they would take them back "THIS TIME" because they are very picky about boot returns. All my daughter did was try them on at home. They said they could have been scuffed in the bag...REALLY? Buyer beware...Do NOT ever buy boots at North 40 as a gift. I for one will not be buying anything at North 40 as their return policy is unacceptable to me. read more

FANTASTIC STORE! I have shopped there several times now and I cannot say enough about the staff that works in Omak North 40. The employees are knowledgeable about animals and feeds and medicine/treatment and always willing to help. Sarah that works in the livestock feed section is Exceptional! She has greeted me by my first name every time since my first visit. She is very friendly and has tons of knowledge about chickens, cattle, horses....you name it. I have asked her a ton of questions and she is quick to point me in the right direction. There are young guys moving things around outside and each will ask if you need help loading and then they will return your cart. Great hometown feel in the store! I will keep going back! read more

They have good selection but the prices are high. I found the same item (lawn cart) at Home Depot two miles away for $50 less.

Great place to pickup just about everything needed for hunting, camping and fishing. Prices are good and staff is great.
