They will make your life miserable living there. They watch your every move on camera. My cleaning lady mistakenly put my garbage in another persons waste receptacle and they took it out and I found it hanging outside my apartment door. I wasn't getting packages and when I told Maria she was so nasty and said "that's not my problem ". It became so horrific I had to send packages to family members homes. So when the pool wasn't open for over an hour past the opening time I said that's not my problem. They sent me eviction notices that if I said anything else I'd be put out and I wasn't allowed into the office. They are abusive and harassing to everyone who lives there. People don't last more than their one year lease and a few I spoke to said it was so bad they broke their lease and just left. They charged me for a water bill I had already paid and then after looking at the complete year of payments I realized they charge you for a full month before and time after that you're not living there because no meters are read and they do not prorate. One man told me after getting off the elevator he was talking to someone and petting their dog and the next day received an email saying his rent was going up because he had a dog. They are the nastiest, evil people and should all be fired . Kaplan will have empty apartments if that administration is left there. Please go somewhere else! You'll be so sorry if you take their bate.

I thought this community was supposed to be high quality but it appears that a lot of Section 8 / low-income individuals are pushing their way in, seems like they have a protected status because management has been notified by multiple other tenants about this issue and it still continues!! Like I said previously, we've been dealing with this for over a year now, and it's slowly getting worse I'm pretty sure the township and state have a law on vehicles idling for extended periods of time and I know for a fact we have a local noise ordinance, maybe they will be contacted next in order to get roving patrols out this way!!

One of the biggest things I want to stress to anyone considering this complex: DO NOT expect to receive your full security deposit back. They withheld money from our deposit for multiple things they claimed needed to be cleaned or maintained. It felt like they found every little thing they could charge us for. Be prepared to lose a significant portion of your deposit, even after you have cleaned and taken care of the apartment. What made the security deposit situation even more frustrating was the "proof" they provided after we moved out. They gave us pictures in black-and-white that were extremely grainy and unclear. The pictures were so poor quality that you could barely make out what you were looking at, let alone tell that it was even our apartment. It was extremely difficult to understand or verify what they were claiming they needed to charge us for. When I asked for certain information I was told "oh we don't have to give you that information, I don't think". It's my apartment and you're refusing to provide me with my own information. Since the day we moved in, we dealt with issues with another resident who terrorized us, and the complex did very little to address the situation. Management seemed unwilling to get involved or take responsibility, leaving us feeling completely unsupported. We have to file a police report against this person to finally have them stay away from us. Maintenance was also extremely frustrating. They were rarely available when we needed them, and getting issues addressed was always a struggle. Moving out was an absolute headache and ended up costing us more money than expected. The staff was not helpful, accommodating, or respectful throughout the process. Overall, I would not recommend this complex to anyone. I wish I knew then what I know now because I would have made a completely different choice and moved somewhere else. If you're considering living here, please be aware that you may not receive your full security deposit back, and make sure you thoroughly document the condition of your apartment before moving out. Also be aware they are money hungry and don't care about you as a tenant.

When i asked the office about it they said that they can raise us 5% per year ( i didn't think that meant that they HAD to though) I understand that prices are going up everywhere but it's really tough to know that you can't count on a set amount for your rent b/c it's going to go up every year. Also my fridge makes an awful sound. I have messaged them about 3-4 times and they do send someone out to fix it quickly but the "fix" only lasts a few weeks , maybe a few months at best. At this point it would've been cheaper to replace it than to pay a repair person to come out multiple times. But for some reason they haven't done that. So other than the unsteady price and the noisy refrigerator I do like BG. It's quiet and the people are very nice. Oh, almost forgot, also not the fault of Barrington Gardens but the power seems to go out whenever the wind blows. Seriously, it doesn't take a storm, just some rain is enough. It goes out at least once a month.
