Add a great gym, part of the advantage of living there, plus endless specials bringing in food truck with original offerings, ranging from world cuisines to sweets, and you quickly realize this is unique. Theres always something that happens at Avalon and THERES NO CAMERAS. If you see a cop it's no surprise anymore. Almost every other day the cops are here for many different reasons. As a matter of fact they're here now as I'm writing this at 2am when I have to be at work 8am. TONIGHT IS MY LAST STRAW. This was too close for comfort: my husband was a witness to Car theft 10 minutes after I walked in the door by my self from working a late night. Then we have Domestic violence, drug deals in day light, needles juts sitting by the entrance to the building. If I think hard I'm sure I can name plenty more. Look I get it this can happen anywhere but I pay A LOT of money to be in a safe, family friendly environment. TONIGHT I don't feel safe and I would never want to bring up a child in this environment. What's it gonna take to install cameras? The cops asked maybe if anyone had cameras outside their apartment HE LAUGHED WHEN I TOLD HIM THERE WERE NO CAMERAS AND WERE NOT ALLOWED TO INSTALL OUR OWN. I'm glad the owners, managers, and anyone else affiliated with Avalon can sleep peacefully tonight.

But the biggest problem is with the bar/restaurant across the street on Main Street. The bar has live music late into the night. So loud, that you can hear it blocks away as you walk home. The building is very welcoming and it feels like home. When the property manager, Melissa, showed me the apartment I said, "I want it." It had a positive vibe as well as the whole building. It is in a great location with access to stores, highways, parks and it even has an adorable dog park. It's sad that some of the residents with dogs don't abide by the rules with keeping dogs on leases or cleaning up after them. It's a shame that the property manager has to put out call blasts to remind the tenants with dogs to remind them of the rules. The management team is always on top of ANY issues with ANY concerns from the residents. They address them immediately. Unfortunately, some residents don't abide by the rules set in the contract and these are the people who write negative comments. During the last 2 snow storms, Gillette Towers did an exceptional job with cleaning the sidewalks and parking lots. It's a shame that Melissa had to send out several call blasts to the tenants to move their cars so that the lots can be cleaned. It's sad that a few tenants didn't comply and the plows had to work around them. Andy and his team were out during the blizzard during the night keeping up with the piling snow. They did a magnificent job and the best to their abilities. There was a flyer in the lobby if you needed your cars cleaned for a small fee if you weren't able to do it. It's not Andy or Tim's job to clean your personal vehicles. Andy is an amazing maintenance man. He is always friendly and kind. Andy and Melissa always greet everyone with a smile and warm pleasantries. There is no favoritism here. Anyone who has any negative words about this team are the ones who don't like RULES!!! Gillette Towers is a great place to reside. The residents are nice and the buildings are quiet. There's no loud parties, just peacefulness. I highly recommend Gillette Towers to anyone who is looking for this kind of living environment. All I can say is GIVE respect and you'll GET respect. It's a two way street. The community is aesthetically pleasing, the apartments are beautiful and cozy, and the amenities included with the unit are worth the price in my opinion. However, the experience became unfavorable due to discriminatory behavior towards low-income renters and Section 8 recipients. Initially, I was informed that they accept Section 8 vouchers. I completed two applications and was initially told that my credit and income did not meet the criteria, which was conveyed to me before I informed Marta, the property manager, that I possess a Section 8 voucher. When I disclosed to her that I had a Section 8 voucher, she instructed me to fill out another application and submit my voucher with the application. I did so but didn't hear from her for days until I called her several times. She finally filled out the Landlord packet for the voucher but never confirmed with me that she had filled out and sent the voucher back to Section 8. I was informed by Linden Section 8 there was a potential landlord packet submitted. Linden Section 8 sent them an offer, which Marta refused due to a low offer. It is well-known that Section 8 does not pay market price for rent, so landlords who accept Section 8 vouchers should be aware of this. I felt misled and disappointed. Now I understand why there are numerous negative reviews regarding their property manager and leasing practices, as well as a high turnover rate for the community. It appears that Michael the maintenance manager, is the only highly respected individual at Lindcrest Apartments, and I was eager to meet him based on the numerous positive reviews about him. I intend to contact the mayor and Governor Murphy's office regarding Lindcrest Apartments.
