We worked with Claire McCullough so this review is mostly a reflection of her service. One of the reasons we ended up with Claire was her prompt and useful communication. We sent out a number of inquiries to agents all over the triangle in regards to specific properties and were generally disappointed with the quality of the responses. Some would reply quickly with little-to-no answers and others just wouldn't bother replying for days. Claire had actually just sold the property that we emailed her about but she immediately started asking us what we thought of a number of listings (most of which were not associated with Fonville Morisey) in an effort to establish a feel for our tastes and desires. We quickly chose a wide range of homes (in price, age, location and style) that we thought we might like and scheduled some time to see them. Before that date came we changed our mind several times and Claire never batted an eyelash (at least, if she did she never let us know). Claire helped us (or should I say, 'taught us how to) scrutinize every property very thoroughly and answered all of our questions about the implications of any issues. She made it very clear in everything she did that she was serving our best interest. Unfortunately, being motivated buyers with no idea what we wanted, we spent several days trying to cram in as many properties as possible. It was a miserable experience by design; so much so that I had to question myself for leaving a 5 star review for something we didn't exactly enjoy. Well, it was worth it for us in the end because Claire empowered us to see so many properties so that we could narrow our choices and negotiate a great price on a house that is so much better than anything we had imagined owning when we started sending out emails to random agents. My wife and I dealt with a lousy self-serving real estate agent years ago and it really made us dread finding another to work with. This agency and our agent really healed that wound.

When my husband and I…read morewere first looking to move to the area I did a quick search for real estate agents on Yelp, Ryan's paged looked great and since it said he responded to Yelp messages typically within an hour (because who wants to pick up a phone?!) I figured I would reach out to see if he had any last minute availability to show us to a few properties and he did. Although Ryan's office is based in Chapel Hill don't let that deter you, we were only looking in Raleigh. He knows all the ins and outs of the Raleigh neighborhoods and can get here quickly when you need him. We went under contract only two weeks after working with him. He uses Patrick with a local home inspection company to do the inspection and he did a thorough job. After the great inspection Ryan said the only thing left he could think of was a metal detector test of the property, since the house was older and there was a small chance of an underground oil tank. We did the test not thinking much of it and turns out there was an underground tank and it had extensively leaked. Ryan and his assistant Karen headed up making all the appointments and getting the right people out there to deal with the issue. Sadly the seller didn't want to really deal with the issue so away that contract went. Since Ryan knew what we were looking for was kind of niche he sent us a property here and there and we kept our eyes open as well. When a house popped up on the market on a Thursday night we text him if he could meet us there the next morning to take a look. He did and we feel in love. We put an offer in that day and started the process all over again. The second time around we worked with Karen a lot and she is great to work with as well. We successfully closed on this house and love where we ended up. An additional note since Ryan works in a group with a few other real estate agents if you need to see a house in a hurry and he isn't available, he will coordinate with someone in his office who is. Team work for the win!
