Josh Hall came out and analyzed the situation, confirmed its urgency, and said he could move us up in his schedule due to the potential danger. He also quoted a price for removing the trunks that had already fallen. His team came out the following Monday, which proved providential, as a big storm was due to arrive that afternoon. They removed the most dangerous portions of the tree before the storm hit, then returned next day to finish the job. My wife and I were GREATLY impressed not only by the skill and professionalism exhibited by Josh and his team, but also by their friendliness, politeness, and attention to detail. We'd been concerned that a couple of nearby pine trees might be damaged by the process, but Josh took care to protect them and they survived with barely a scratch! We appreciated as well how they protected our lawn from the heavy machinery being used, and how WELL they cleaned up ALL of the debris. They also cut and removed the huge trunks from the initial event and even gathered up the broken pieces of fencing, saving me the extra cleanup. I know this is a long review, but Sherry and I can't praise Halls Tree Service (Wyoming) enough for their excellent and timely work. We would almost welcome another treefall just so that we could hire this team again (knock on wood)!

Everyone that I dealt with from the very beginning were courteous, honest, and respectful. There are many tree services that I have used in my 40 years of business as our property is surrounded by many large trees. It's hard to find the right service for the job. In the futrue this company will be the first one I call because of the confidence level that I now have with them. In the scenario I described things could have gone vey bad at any moment. it was a very dangerous situation and they handled it with ease and professionalism. They have fantastic equipment and they are very skilled at operating it. However, my recommendation is to get a second opinion before you make a decision....wish I had. We had two sets of co-dominant trees that they highly recommended to be cut down because they were potentially dangerous trees (could fall on the house) with a supposed carpenter ant infestation in the one pair. After the trees were cut down it turned out to there was zero evidence of rot or carpenter ants. The tree did have a big fault line where the two trees connected at the stem which was a cause for concern because it causes weakness in both trees. Dustin mentioned cabling the tree and doing plant care but it was going to be thousands of dollars with no guarantee of success (if it actually had rot which it turned out it did not). I understand that no one knows the true state of a tree till they get into the work but I am beyond sad that I cut down 60+ year old oak trees that maybe didn't need to be removed after all. So I'd definitely suggest getting a second opinion if you're not completely sure. Also, he did not put tar over the stumps and now it appears I have oak wilt happening which needs to be addressed.
