Shaw can know I really appreciate his commitment to driver safety, and also his personality of informing and teaching drivers to be safe. My experience with Shaw was back in 2015 and 2016. I don't know where he is now, but would like to contact him and thank him. I also saw this review for him left in an area where CHP Officer Shaw works: (So this is two 5 star reviews for Shaw) [I got pulled over last year for a fix-it ticket. Officer Shaw was friendly, helpful, and professional. He really cares about people's safety. I appreciated that he didn't try to scare me, be mean, or freak me out. I did end up fixing the problem and getting it signed off. Since when he pulled me over, I've been trying my best to drive safe and I have still kept a clean record. I'm not sure how to put it in words. I just felt this was a really good person that does his job every day because he likes the chance to keep everyone safe. I just want to thank him very much for having such a good heart, seeing people as / at their best, and making change / progress by showing care to the community and people. He encountered a very difficult situation with my car in the middle of the 3 lane highway. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He was willing to put himself at risk to try and make sure everyone else was safe. He was calm under pressure and the very fast moving situation. He is good at communicating. He can communicate clearly without coming across rude or bossy. He kept me safe. He also kept another young lady safe when a semi-truck hit her car. (So he had one stalled vehicle that couldn't move, then another accident to deal with). Officer Bruch is good at managing priorities under a fast paced, dangerous environment. My review is primarily for Officer Melinda Zen, Detective-Domestic Violence / Missing Persons who…read moreworks at the Morgan Hill Police Department. I feel that when credit is due, it should be shouted from the rooftops and in this case, from a skyscraper! Not only is she kind, no matter what the circumstances, but she is understanding and really knows how to do her job well. She works with a lot of victims and obviously has done extensive work in psychology and sensitivity training because she understands the patterns and cycles and has not become hardened in any way, as a lot of other law enforcement officers have over the years. And a cool side note......her business card says she does roller derby in her spare time too! Sweet! 8-) I also must comment on the overall positive attitude of this entire department in general. Whenever I call, they are friendly and happy to answer questions and concerns. They also seem to really care about the lost animals that they pick up and I have seen this first hand when they picked up a German shepherd last year. The officer allowed us to pet him and talk to him in the lobby before he took him back and the Officer even talked to the dog as well, which I NEVER see officers do in other agencies! This made the animal feel a lot more secure and less frightened. They also routinely post the pics of the lost animals in their care on their Facebook page which I recently Liked and I recommend you do the same. You can see the level of care for the animals and myself being in the animal field, that really matters! I was very impressed! So I urge any person who is in a scary, violent or abusive situation to reach out to Officer Zen at the MH Police Dept because she is so easy to talk to and never makes you feel badly in any way; it is like talking to a friend and she truly does want to help you. Please do not hesitate to call, your life is worth it. Great job Morgan Hill PD, I give you the best manners award in South County!!! The first thing that kind of irked me was that there had been a random vehicle, no license plate and flat tires in my apartment complex for about a week. I asked all of my neighbors, surrounding neighbors and my landlord if they knew whose vehicle it was. No one knew. So I contacted the PD and reported it believing it was stolen. They didn't come out until about 4-5 days later. My neighbor said she saw them pulling a bunch of crap from the car, not even picking it up. When I came home there was trash all over the ground and driveway. Completely disrespectful that they took a bunch of stuff from the vehicle and didn't even pick it up. The vehicle ended up being stolen over a month ago. But it was not towed. Myself and 4 other people had called asking why it wasn't towed because it was in a neighbors designated parking spot. It was another week and a half before it was towed. I would be pissed if I was the car owner knowing that the PD knew my vehicle was found and didnt let me know. I feel bad for whoever owned the vehicle. The second thing was, I have video of an idiot driver running red light, slamming his brakes in front of me trying to get me to hit him and illegal tinted windows. I tried reporting online and it wouldn't work so I called the PD to report it. I will put the idiots info on the video and photo, but if I put it on here, yelp will remove it. Though they will probably remove the video and photo. When I called the PD they said that they can't do anything. I asked why he couldn't get a citation or anything for running a red light, illegal tinted windows and slamming on his brakes trying to cause an accident. This is what I had told the PD: This was at 8:49am on the corner of Main and Monterey driving north. I was traveling northbound on Monterey Road (cross-street Main Ave) at 8:49 am May 31st. I had a green light and a White Honda civic sport, Failed to stop at the red light. He was going West on Main, turning right/north on Monterey Road. I honked my horn, they slammed on their brakes as if they were trying to get me to rear end them. I could not see the driver because they had illegal tinted windows in the front. I have dash-cam proof of what happened. His license plate is very clear. There was not an accident but I think the guy in the white car should at least receive a citation for trying to cause an accident by slamming on his brakes, illegal window tint and running a red light.
