I've been meaning to review Jen Creek plantation since I attended a wedding one weekend. I stayed in one of the smaller cabins with two of my granddaughters. It was near the lake and one of the places they hold rehearsal dinners, and things. These are older cabins that were brought in from my understanding and painted and some upkeep done. They are small, but very cute and serve the purpose they are intended for. You are able to cook a full meal in the kitchen if that's what you need to do. The bathroom where we stayed was plenty enough room to shower and get ready. Had a beautiful tree outside in the front yard. Might I add at the barn where the couple got married was absolutely beautiful. I know that they had gotten the tables and everything ready and they were just gorgeous. The property is stunning and very well kept. I don't think you could go wrong if you live in the area by renting this amazing space for your event. They also just rent the cabins if you want to do some wine tasting or just stay in Fisher for the weekend. read more

Amazing wedding venue, we attended a wedding this weekend in the large white tent, and the ceremony on the pergola stage by the lake. The whole property is well maintained, the owners and crew are attentive, so helpful, friendly and so accommodating! The horse drawn carriage is a wonderful touch, the fireworks were magical, and the venue options across the property are all so beautiful. I also want to say that the little houses/ cottages on the property are adorable and would be cute to stay in any time of year. They're quaint and so well decorated, welcoming and charming. If I could give Gin Creek 100 stars I would! Gin Creek blew us away from the day we toured it to the day we checked out after the wedding. Doug, Meaghan, Mark and their entire crew do everything they can to ensure you have the exact wedding experience you want. They bend over backwards to try to accommodate you as best they can, while also allowing flexibility for you to outsource vendors if you prefer. Honestly, the minute we toured Gin Creek we knew we wanted to do our wedding there because we were looking for vendors who were genuinely dedicated to helping you have the most perfect wedding day. The venue itself is unbelievably beautiful. With it being large enough for multiple weddings at a time, you have many options of where to have your wedding onsite. We chose the Vineyard side, for a ceremony at the outdoor Tuscan Pergola and a reception under the three-peak Reception Tent. What we loved about this option was that Gin Creek offered the barn as well as a backup for the ceremony in case it rained, and being a type-A planner I knew I needed to have a plan-B in place. We watched the weather that whole week, everyday it changed from rain to no rain, and they were willing to wait up until the day before to make a decision as to whether we would want to switch our ceremony to the barn (they'd need a day to add the drapery and greenery I would have wanted in the barn if so). They even let me come out and "bury the bourbon" to try to ward off any rain! We lucked out with the most beautiful day, and Doug drove us back over to the spot where I buried it to unbury it after our reception ended. Another AMAZING perk of this venue are the onsite cottages available to rent, so your family and/or friends can stay on property. This perk was HUGE because it made the venue feel even more private and personal. We happened to be the only wedding on the property that weekend, so we really lucked out, but even if you weren't the only wedding happening the venues are far enough away from each other than you would have your own space. Doug, Meaghan and Mark treat you almost like you're a family member using the family property for your wedding. They are just unbelievably genuine and kind people, I wish I had enough words to express my gratitude toward them. Your wedding weekend is so special but can be quite stressful if you don't have the right support team, and with this family we felt more than supported but also celebrated. I truly mean it when I say I wouldn't have changed a single thing. If you're looking for wedding venues do yourself a favor and tour this place. They are amazing people and it's a beautiful location. Held our daughter's wedding here and most guests stayed on property. Although we booked it pre-covid, they were wonderful abut changing everything for COVID. Recommend a tasting at the Pack House when you visit. It was a fantastic event - everyone on staff is wonderful to work with. The only problems were minor and during the reception and had I paid attention and spoken to the wedding coordinator, it would have been handled immediately. I would recommend staying an extra night after the event because we were exhausted and had to pack up and leave early because another wedding party was arriving that day. #VickieTravelz read more

I can't say enough great things about Gin Creek and the owner Doug DeMott. He served us at the counter and allowed us to sample his locally grown and bottled wine. We also ordered the pulled pork sandwich with Brunswick stew. As a connoisseur of Brunswick stew, I found his to be spicy -what I like. Not overly spiced but just right. We also bought some local cheese and enjoyed ourselves. He stopped by the table to ask about our food. When an owner takes the time to make a customer happy it's 5 stars in my book. Of course the wine and food warrants the same rank. Another gem in downtown Thomasville. Our next stop will be to stay in his cottages at Gin Creek Plantation sometime soon. Great looking place from the photos and service we experienced. His Lenoir merlot was perfect. Kind of reminds me of Meinhardt Vineyards in Statesboro, Ga. read more

I cannot accurately express what a wonderful experience we had at Gin Creek. We evacuated Florida when Hurricane Dorian seemed poised to hit us head-on. All hotels within driving distance located out of the "cone of uncertainty" were full. I found Gin Creek after searching for 3+ hours, by location, on GoogleMaps. What a wonderful surprise awaited us! The grounds are beautiful, Megan and the entire staff are delightful - so kind and compassionate in our predicament, the cottage was 5-star, the wine is amazing...I wouod have been happy to stay there forever! Unfortunately, we had to return to work. But we will definitely be back. So happy to have found this place! read more

Gin Creek is by far the most amazing venue I came across and I did a LOT of research. Meaghan is the most wonderful, helpful, kind person. She went out of her way to take videos of the venue and send them to us so we could see it before we got down there (we live 5 hours away) and she was so ready to help us at any time of the day or night during our year long planning process. I could not have asked for anything more. She even came to the rescue multiple times during our wedding weekend. Also Brenda (Meaghans aunt I believe) catered our rehearsal dinner and WOW. The food was phenomenal. They really did make our wedding day perfect. Gin Creek is perfect for any and every wedding and the team can help customize the venue to make it EXACTLY what you want on your wedding day. Thank you again Meaghan and the Gin Creek crew!!! This review is for the cottages at Gin Creek Plantation and the wedding venue on property. The landscape is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin with one queen bed in one room and two full beds in the other. The place was very clean and cozy. The screened-in back porch was a perfect place to drink a cup of coffee while looking at the lake views. There's even a boardwalk to walk right up to the lake. The wedding reception area was so nice and the outdoor bar/dance floor had enough space for people to dance and mingle. We loved walking around to take in the sites and hear the wind chimes placed in certain trees. Doug helped us with anything we needed and his cute rottweiler was so sweet! I would come back to rent a cottage or two with some friends to enjoy a relaxing weekend. read more

Visited the Thomasville tasting room during the July 4th weekend and was throughly impressed. Staff was warm and welcoming. Didn't order any food but tried their wine slushies (they had a couple of different flavors but my favorite was the blueberry!) which hit the spot especially in the hot weather! Since then anytime, anyone mentions that they may be visiting Thomasville for the day, I've jumped at the chance to tell them to make a stop at Gin Creek for those fantastic slushies! read more
