I asked, is there any possible way it can be repaired? Can it be straightened out? He seemed earnest and honest, he did. But he said no it will come off the rollers every time. Maybe he really thought that. I had a second company come out. "Can't repair it." I invited them to send a bid - they never did. Third company was Overhead Door. From beginning to end a completely different experience. First, a very capable and friendly receptionist immediately connected me to Kelly who listened carefully to the issue. He himself came out the next day. After much discussion, he offered for their company to take a look at it and see if it could be repaired, which was a surprise to me since both other companies had told me it wasn't possible. If it couldn't be repaired, Overhead would apply the work cost to the the cost of a new door. Sounded like a good plan to me. So today the service tech came out. He FIXED IT. He braced it and repaired the rollers and it is as good as new. You can be sure when it comes time for me to buy a new door in a few years (and now I know how much to save) that I will ABSOLUTELY use Overhead Door because of their honesty, integrity, and not just trying to sell me a new door. They showed up on time, were pleasant, and started with "the instructions for this Chamberlain remote are wrong". The first instruction just doesn't do it (it's the apparently easiest). Previous tennant damaged both locks and needed to replace garage door opener for new tenants. This was emergency service call that needed today. Connor contacted me when he was 30 min out to meet up with him. after reviewing the project he provided on the spot price and said it would take about 2 hours. It actually took 1 hour and job was perfect. Connor suggested replacing the old rollers and tune up the springs with lubrication I accepted the add on the bill and it was all completed less than 2 hours quoted. Great job conner and mike. I had the guy come out and literally do 10 minutes of work adjusting the bottom sensors and spaying some grease and charged $200 for that. I can understand having a job minimum for things like this but $200 is crazy. I was in a bind and didn't want to tell the guy to go back so I just ate it, but watch out if your issue isn't that big, it will still cost you $200 minimum.
