I needed to have two window panes replaced in my house. I called three places for quotes. The first guy trampled all over my plants and quoted me $213.39 for the first window and $160.89 if I wanted to get the 2nd window replaced (even though they were basically the same size). His prices were in the ballpark of the others but I don't do business with people who play pricing games. The second place came out and measured but didn't measure the depth of the glass (between the panes), and then waited two full days before calling back to give me a quote. Alex came out and was respectful and professional and was careful not to trample on my plants that were growing under one of the windows. He measured accurately, including the width of my panes, and he gave me a quote right away. I need to clarify that when we spoke over the phone, he had me first send him a picture of the window and he gave me a "ball park" estimate and let me know that it could be more or could be less after he comes out to measure. Turned out the quote he gave me in person was slightly less than he quoted me over the phone (which I was happy with). He said the glass would take about 4 days to be made and would call me to schedule an install once it was ready. He gave me a 2 hour "window" and came out during the designated time frame and replaced both windows for even less than the last quote! He did a wonderful job and my new windows look great plus they came with a 10 year warranty! He even took off his shoes when he had to come inside without me even needing to ask. Alex is friendly but lacks the professionalism of a business owner. He arrived promptly for the scheduled first visit, however that promptness failed miserably when it came time for installation of our windows. We had a morning installation 2-hour window. The installer showed up after 1:30 pm and only after 2 phone calls to Alex asking where he was. Neither Alex or the installer ever bothered to alert us that the work appointment was delayed. We wasted the morning waiting. Once the installer arrived he worked diligently for the next 5 hours installing 16 window glass replacements. He was polite and did a decent job cleaning as he went. Alex stopped by unexpectedly mid-afternoon and offered an apology and a 25% discount on the cost. We were pleased with the discount and expressed our lack of satisfaction with his lack of communication skills. The final bill was sent with just 25% off of half of what we owed after paying half up front for the total cost of the job.
