I think I texted her before my own friends and family :). I can not explain how talented she is in enough words. I hate having my pictures taken, and somehow she makes me feel so at ease and like we're all just hanging out. I feel comfortable telling her what I'm insecure about and she's great reminding me to adjust while she's taking pictures. She's also just so much fun to be around; always happy and smiling. Her positive energy is something you need on your wedding day but just in general! Gina is a superwoman with patience of a saint! She was a second shooter for our wedding, and unfortunately met me at the most stressful time: getting ready with my temperamental, high maintenance mom. Gina was the bomb! Is this your first time getting married? Or maybe it's just your first time planning an event for over a hundred people where everyone tells you "the only thing that matters is the photos" since it's photos that last f-o-r-e-v-e-r.... If you find that maybe a stressful, then look no further! Gina is your woman. Things I learned that I didn't know I needed to know in choosing our wedding photographer: 1) Yes, Photography is a big chunk of the budget, but Gina makes it super reasonable. - There's no up-charge for quality or more photos. She takes pictures, culls through the 5-clicks-of-the-same thing so she only gives you then 1-2 of the same shot, then includes them! Done! Compare the other prices to that.. - Also, she makes sure to bring another professional photographer!! It just comes with the package! Ensures way better coverage for the big day. - And includes an engagement shoot, which is great to establish rapport with each other so that on a very busy, stressful day it's like seeing an old friend. 2) "You spend more time with the photographer than any one else other than your spouse-to-be." - So true. And so it's great to "click" and have chemistry with your photographer. Gina was so easy to get along with it's great. - We had so much fun with her. And, my now-husband (who hates photos of him) was comfortable getting photos of him while getting ready and standing by his lonesome waiting for the "First look." Oh, and kissing shots. (Ew. ;-)) 3) "...Herding cats." - You know the saying... Try getting group shots of all your relatives. Including your, literally, drunk uncle. Well, she manages your guests with grace, humor, and a big huge smile! 3) It's ok to trust experience. - One thing I absolutely loved about Gina is that if we had an idea that sounded great to us, but just simply wasn't realistic, she kindly, gently let us know. She was definitely open to ideas like silly photos and our priorities. At the same time, she also made sure we had a realistic timeline to optimize how the entire night went. 4) "Gina is a ninja." - My mom. - You want photographers to be in the right place at the right time....and not totally in sight at the right time. Gina was able to get the right angles and, not until we saw the some friends' photos later, did we notice she was everywhere! We just never noticed because she was so discrete! Ultimately, she's all about making sure the bride and groom and family and guests have an incredible time. It's not about her. There's a reason she's one of the trusted well-known names in the area. I could not be happier with how my family's first professional photos of the 3 of us turned out. As if photographing a 15 month old isn't challenging enough, the weather ended up being rather chilly. Gina was SO patient with my non-smiling little girl, as well as the weather... much more so than I was! We were immediately comfortable with her. Prior to the shoot, she was in frequent contact with me about what I envisioned, and shared tips, comments, and ideas of her own in preparation for the shoot. Both locations she chose were perfect. I love that she doesn't feel confined to staying in one location, and it 100% ok with hopping in the car and driving to another spot for some variety in your photos. When we left after having our shoot, I was skeptical that we were able to give her something to work with (again, 15 month old refusing to smile, and no interest in the camera). 10 stars! Gina was wonderful from the get-go. My fiancé and I had signed a contract with another company which we had to break once we saw our horrible engagement photos. I knew that I had to find someone else- and I was referred to Gina through word of mouth, and we are so glad we found her! We set up a meeting at her adorable studio and hit it off right away. She was attentive, receptive to what we were looking for, and her images she showed us were stunning. Her package included an engagement session which was a blast. She directed us a lot which is exactly what we needed. Gina was very easily accessible and quick to respond to any emails, texts and phone calls. We had a phone meeting/conversation before the wedding and she set the timeline with us and also touched base with our wedding planner so everyone was on the same page which was much appreciated. Day of, she had a wonderful second shooter with her and got so many jaw dropping photos. Expect a 2 month wait time for your images, it's common and worth the wait! We wanted some images retouched and since it was a pretty minor photoshop, she was able to do it for us free of charge.
