We love Dr. Gina! As new parents we have so many questions and her "style" really aligns with our parenting. Her office staff is always friendly. We do have to wait in the office for our appointment usually, but it seems like all of San Marcos comes to her! Worth the time. read more

We've been with Dr. Rosenfeld for over 17 years, and she has been an absolute blessing to our family. From the very beginning, she has gone above and beyond in every possible way. Her medical knowledge is exceptional, but it's her warmth, empathy, and genuine care that make her truly one of a kind. Dr. Rosenfeld takes the time to listen, explain, and connect--not just with us as parents, but with our child as well. She never rushes, always makes us feel heard, and has consistently provided thoughtful, thorough, and compassionate care through every stage of our child's development. Over the years, she's become more than just a pediatrician--she's been a trusted partner, advocate, and steady presence through all the highs and challenges. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had her guidance and support for so many years. I cannot recommend Dr. Rosenfeld highly enough. read more

Dr. Gina Rosenfeld is the best pediatrician we have ever worked with! She has been our four kids' pediatrician for over 15 years, and we are so thankful for her! Our son recently almost died from a sporting accident and had to have his spleen removed. After 7 days in ICU, and a very rough recovery, it was such a peace of mind to know we had Dr. Gina to oversee his recovery! She has been so caring over him, and really made the difference for his continued healing! She has been engaged and caring over our children's lives and health. She is up to date on health innovations, yet has the experience that only comes by years of having her heart dedicated to her patients! Thank you Dr. Gina for loving your patients and for truly caring over our children, like no one else ever has! read more

Dr Rosenfeld went above and beyond for our son, when we brought him in suspecting he was diabetic. Turns out we were right, and instead of sending us to Rady Children's hospital ER, she spent about an hour total on the phone between her appts tracking down who to send us to and getting us pre-checked in with a hospital room waiting. Yes, her appts run behind, and yes it can be frustrating, but this is why. If your child needs something, she will make 100% sure your child will be well taken care of and that you have everything you need before you leave her office. She is truly an advocate for your child, and that's the kind of doctor you want taking care of your little one. So when your appt runs a little behind, know that she is taking care of something urgent for another patient, and that if your baby ever needs needs something she will move mountains to make it happen. read more

Dr. Rosenfeld is probably the best doctor I've ever worked with. She's my son's doctor and she's phenomenal. She pays attention, she cares, and she remembers year after year. As an adult I've had my own issues with the medical system misdiagnosing me repeatedly and I wish Dr. Rosenfeld could be my doctor!! On top of it all, my son was freaking out about getting his finger pricked and the nurse made it fun and light and he left happy and said he wouldn't be scared again. I highly recommend this office and her as your pediatrician. read more

Our daughter just had her 1st birthday and we have been bringing her to see Dr Rosenfeld since birth. As first time parents, Finding an amazing pediatrician was at the top of our list and believe me, we did our research. After hearing from NUMEROUS neighbors and friends who used Dr Rosenfeld and loved her, we were sold. We have had our fair share of visits between regular checkups, ear infections, and colds (thank you daycare haha). Not only is Dr Rosenfeld extremely knowledgeable, patient, and diligent, but she also has amazing bedside manner. Dr Rosenfeld and her staff truly care about your child and are willing to dig deeper and ask questions when posed with unusual scenarios. Recently, after being referred to an ENT and having awful luck getting an appointment anytime within the next 30 days, Dr Rosenfeld picked up the phone during our office visit and called the ENT office personally. She made it her mission to get us seen and got us in for an appointment ONE HOUR LATER. You just don't get that level of service in other offices. I also want to say Emmy at the front desk has also been fantastic about working around our schedules, and getting us in on short notice, multiple times! Needless to say, we won't be leaving Dr Rosenfeld anytime soon! read more

I really like Dr. Rosenfeld! I was recommended to her by a friend during my pregnancy so she has been my son's doctor since he was born (he is now almost 5 months old). She is sharp, personable, reassuring and thorough. She helped us through our son's newborn jaundice and followed up until he fully recovered. She always makes sure all our questions are answered during well checks and doesn't make us feel silly for asking questions and always makes me feel more informed and confident by the end of the visit. Her office is clean, spacious and never crowded and they have done an excellent job of keeping things safe during the COVID-19 pandemic by separating well and sick visits, keeping the office sterile and leaving the door into the office to promote airflow. I like her medical assistants too, they are caring and kind handle my son carefully. I have had no issues scheduling appointments, my only complaint is that the billing department seems a little sketch, they didn't automatically issue a refund for me and I had to call them and remind them about it, but from my understanding they are not in Dr. Rosenfeld's office but represent several pediatric groups in the area. read more

Dr. Rosenfeld and her staff have been the primary caregivers for our 15 month old daughter and we couldn't be happier. We trust them explicitly and we have LOVED our experience because of loving and educated staff and doctor, great customer service, and loving/welcoming environment that is super accommodating. Dr. Rosenfeld graduated top of her class at a young age and has a clear passion for pediatrics. To put things into perspective, we spent 9 days at Palomar Hospital in the NICU unit and ALL of the NICU nurses and doctors highly recommended Dr. Rosenfeld which is the reason we found her. When our daughter was a few weeks old I was very hormonal, scared, and worried about her health because of our challenging beginning. Alyssa, the medical assistant, was loving and gentle as she checked her vitals and weighed her each visit. With each visit, my trust and admiration grew for the staff and Dr. Rosenfeld. We enter that space knowing that we have the best care possible. Sidebar: As novice parents, we have forgotten things like formula and diapers during our visits a few times, and they have graciously provided us with the resources. We have experienced multiple ear infections, allergies, cold/tummy bugs thanks to daycare and each time, Dr. Rosenfeld takes her time to listen to us, share her thoughts, and swiftly resolve the issue all the while making us feel like partners in our daughter's care. Over the course of the last several months we have visited at least 14 times because our daughter is prone to ear infections and has allergies. There is always an appointment time available for that day or within the next day. Emmy answers the phone with professionalism and warmth. They are very welcoming friendly (I highly disagree with the review by Wound R.) and I suggest that you take that review with a grain of salt because truly, in 15 months of going to this practice, we have not had ONE negative interaction. In fact, their staff go above and beyond to make our daughter comfortable, support our needs, inform and empower us to make the best decisions for our daughter. For example, two months ago, we came in for an allergic reaction to eggs. Dr. Rosenfeld and the staff were swift yet calm in administering Benadryl and later an Epipen. Dr. Rosenfeld never left our side, keeping an eye on my daughter's vitals all the while being very supportive and loving to me and my daughter. I was so scared but Dr. Rosenfeld's presence made me feel calm and optimistic that everything would be okay. They calmly told me that protocol for this severe of a reaction required a call to 911. We waited for an abulance in the privacy of one of the patient rooms with Dr. Rosenfeld by our side. The EMTs who arrived said that Dr. Rosenfeld did exactly the right thing and that our daughter would be okay. We seriously love this doctor and the staff so much that we have made decisions about our careers to keep us close to the practice. You will love your whole experience and your child will be in the best care possible when you choose Dr. Rosenfeld. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Gina. She is incredibly compassionate and smart and has always taken her time and had incredible patience with our 3 children. She has been our doctor for years and has always dealt with check-ups, emergencies and minor health issues with calmness and knowledge. Emmy, the front desk staff has always been able to squeeze us in and find us an appointment. Thanks for the great care. read more

The San Marcos office. Sadly I've not had a good experience at the San Marcos office. First, we always wait at least 40 minutes before seeing a doctor. Getting out the door on time with littles is a challenge and then add the hassle of little parking at this location, we rush in to make it on time and it always feels like such a waste when we end up waiting so long without any apologies. We've had at least 10 appointments and this is always the case. The staff is so inconsiderate (although they've been a little better about hiding their feelings lately, it's pretty obvious). They clearly believe they know more about your child's health than you as the parent. They are quick to dismiss your concerns or suggestions and the irony is that they can't answer simple questions. Their bedside manner is awful. The first visit the nurse pricked my little one's finger to measure oxygen. She didn't explain the procedure or why it was necessary or that it would hurt and she just walked away when my lo started to cry. Who doesn't offer comfort after hurting a child? No empathy. Kids cries are always echoing through the halls. The medical devices are archaic and barebones. They seem short on money which doesn't make sense because they charge a copay for anything and everything possible. You need a doctors note, it's a copay. A vaccine, it's a copay (my insurance is always surprised about this one). You miss an appointment, it's a copay. Your healthy infant is seen before 1 month, it's a copay. Nurse appointments are not available at this office. Charges should be explained when an appointment is created so there are no surprises. I stayed with this office so long because of Dr. Rosenfeld. She's sweet. I wish she were a better fit for us. My only criticism is she could do a better job following up concerns and asking questions so care can be more collaborative with parents and doctors being on the same page when it comes to pediatric care. read more

Wow , I can't say thank you enough to Dr. Rosenfeld for the exceptional loving care that we have received for the past nine consecutive years. She is no ordinary pediatrician, but is rather a highly specialized pediatric doctor. Nine years ago my daughter was born premature and we were referred to doctor Rosenfeld by the UCSD NICU for her knowledge and experience with premature children. I am deeply grateful and thankful for the extraordinary care that my daughter receives and I couldn't ever imagine going anywhere else. Amber B. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Rosenfeld and her staff! Emmy and Alissa are always able to get us in within a reasonable time frame. Dr. Rosenfeld is the best! She has a great bedside manner and is a very skilled dr. She takes the time to get to know not only her patients, but the parents as well. My best friend and I both use the San Marcos office and Dr. Rosenfeld makes a point to ask each of us how the other family is doing. After our first year with her we had to switch our insurance. We tried 3 different pediatricians and hated every experience we had, we couldn't switch back fast enough. I trust Dr. Rosenfeld and her staff completely. She looks at each child as an individual and not as a list of statistics. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to take my girls to someone else! read more

What a shame. My past few experiences have been terrible. This is for the san Marcos location. My daughter was sick and I called to find out if I needed to bring her in... They said yes BUT they were booked for 4 days bc they were "double booked". Seriously? You have no room for emergency patients? That's just ridiculous. The same front office lady always makes me feel like its such an inconvenience when I call to ask questions or schedule an appointment. She makes it seem like she would rather you go else where. Which they made me call the Escondido location to schedule there and then call back san Marcos bc they didn't have anything available either. The only reason I have stayed is for the doctor.... But if these offices allow for someone like Miss grumpy grouch to run their front office? Then obviously you don't care about your patients experience in your office. She really makes it seem like she hates her job and all the patients that walk through the door. read more

Our family loves Dr. Rosenfeld. I have been taking my 4 children to see Dr. Rosenfeld since 1995. 23 years! Through numerous wellness checks, chronic health issues, health emergencies & minor health issues, my trust and faith in Dr. Rosenfeld's ability to give the BEST health & medical care to my children has NEVER waivered. She is truly a "rare gem" in the pediatric field. Her level of care goes above and beyond the standard. She will work with you, tirelessly, to find answers and solutions to your child's health issues. And she does all of this with kindness, intelligence & integrity. She is easy to talk to and she is a great listener to both her patients and their parents. I feel at peace knowing I have such an amazing doctor caring for my children. And as parents that is what we all want. I can't thank Dr. Rosenfeld enough for all she has done to keep my children healthy and happy. read more

Absolutely loved taking my twins to Dr. Rosenfeld. She was highly recommended to us by numerous people at the UCSD NICU. Staff is nice and we never had to wait long to be seen. We were really sad that we had to find a new pediatrician when we moved out of the area. read more

Dr. Rosenfeld has been my 3 kids doctor since birth. I have 2 boys and a girl. She's great, she knows what she's talking about, she's very down to earth and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. My kids are very comfortable with her as well. We were referred to her by my OBGYN and it wasn't until we saw her for the first time that I realized she was my little sister's doctor too! When the kids are sick, I am almost always able to get them in to see her. If scheduling for a wellness exam, make sure to call about 2 months ahead. read more

I was referred to Dr. Gina Rosenfeld by UCSD after my twins were in NICU. She was able to get us in within 2 days of the babies being home and has seen them ever since. Her office staff is very pleasant and gets me in very quickly when my babies are sick. Dr. Rosenfeld is very pleasant, excellent with my babies and knows what she is talking about. I love her - she is the best. read more

This office is a joke! I called to make an appointment when my daughter was sick and we were leaving town and they couldn't get us in. They couldn't get a 2 month old baby in for an emergency sick appointment?!? What?!? Ok I get you're busy let's try again. This time I make the appointment a month out for her 4 month check up. I called Monday to see if there was anyway we can be seen sooner because we are going out of town and wanted her to be ok for traveling, they couldn't so we kept her original appointment. I called the day of to find out the exact time because I never got a confirmation call and was told they cancelled my appointment because the number they had on file was incorrect!!!! Are you kidding me?! We have been waiting all day for her 3 pm appointment before we have to drive up to Santa Barbara for the weekend and they cancelled my appointment because they wrote down the wrong number?!? This is seriously ridiculous! I'll be waiting for my $25 cancellation check in the mail...that is what you would be charging me if canceled without notice right??? read more

I go to the San Marcos office and also get to see Dr Caroline as well. Both are excellent. Dr Gina has seen both my kids since birth. My older son had terrible medical issues his first 18 months and Dr Gina was quick to give us referrals and totally on top of things. I love how both doctors do some simple testing right in the office. My younger daughter has had less occasion to be at the doctors - mainly for regular check ups - but those have gone well. The staff are great and extremely professional. Other friends have either recommended Dr Gina or have since gone to her -- all have had very good experiences. My only complaint is sometimes the waiting gets long in those little rooms! But, I think they have gotten better and I am less of a stressed out new mama! I cannot image going to anyone else. read more

Dr. Rosenfeld provides amazing patient-centered care. My two toddlers have been seeing Dr. Rosenfeld for over a year now and I couldn't be more thrilled with the care we've received. She is patient, kind, and funny with my boys. She includes them as much a possible when discussing their care. She's also wonderful with me. She's easy to talk to and provides advice and options. She is current on all the new parenting trends but also provides some perspective. She practices the art of medicine in a day and age where so many doctors just write prescriptions. And her referrals are amazing - she knows all the like-minded doctors in all the different pediatric specialties in San Diego. Whenever we leave her office my older son says "That was fun... going to the doctor!" Even after shots! read more

Dr. Rosenfeld is awesome! They always sqeeze me in. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. She really cares about your children as if they were her own. read more

Dr. Rosenfeld is wonderful. I saw her when I was growing up, and now my children see her. She is great about coming beside the parent to help them make the right choices for their kids instead of being the authoritarian "I'm the doctor so I'm always right" attitude you get from some doctors. She is very easy to talk to, and the kids love her. She's very busy (because she's so great!) so getting appointments can be tricky, but it's worth it. read more

I have never met such uncaring and rude staff. The front desk person is horrible. She obviously hates her job. She makes it so difficult to schedule an appointment. If you call for a sick appointment she always says they are full. Really what doctors office doesn't have openings for sick patients. When you walk in the door she doesn't say Hi or even look at you she just announces what your copay is. The doctor is aware of her behavior which makes it worse I would rather take my kids to a Vet. read more

Good grief. I have never spoken to the front office staff who was absolutely so indifferent and sarcastic about scheduling an appointment for a child. Absolutely ridiculous and uncaring. read more

LOVE Dr Rosenfeld! We have had her as our pediatrician for almost 8 years and just had to switch for insurance. She is knowledgeable and kind and spends time getting to know you. But.... the office staff can be unfriendly and hard to work with to get an appointment. Plus, the office wait times are long! read more

Me and my husband liked her in an instant. Something about her that makes you feel at ease and relaxed. Been looking for a long term pediatrician for our son and finally, someone really good! Now that we have another son, we chose her again because we believe she'll be the best for both our sons. She listens to every concern and questions we have and gives you really practical but good answers, and nothing really complicated that's why we love her. She doesn't make you feel stressed and pressured to whatever situation/condition/questions you'll ask her. We're looking forward to many more years of her taking care of our sons. So far staff are friendly. I. Hope not to encounter someone rude from the staff as what I have read on some reviews. But so far none. So everything is great! I recommend her to every parent who wants a really great pediatrician. read more

Very disappointed in the care my son received today. Took him to Dr. Rosenfeld for a second opinion on ocd/anxiety issue, she did not even take the time to ask if mental health issues run in the family which they very much do. She basically blew over what both my son and I felt was a very stressing problem. She did not even know what Cognitive Behavior Therapy is!!! We did not get the help we were looking for and unfortunately because my son's father agrees with her I can't get any help for him. read more
