She is the worst doctor I have seen in the US hospital! She was unable to provide any effective advice and couldn't properly listen to the patient's concerns. She kept talking on his own, and in the end, she even tried to charge us extra for overtime. read more

We've been patients of Dr. Wells with all three of our boys and now our fourth. For the last three years she's been amazing. Our children are comfortable with her and she's easy to talk to and ask questions. I do wish her office was better at responding and their technical staff would fix the app so the correct info would show up in the app. But overall our experience with the Dr has been great and we recommend. read more

We have been with Scripps Coastal Pediatrics for over three years now. The office is great, the nurses are great, parking etc all great. Over the years we have met various pedatricians who have been kind, caring and helpful. Dr. Wells is the first doctor I met there that was neither kind, caring, respectful or even helpful. She speaks down to her staff and nurses, and you could visibly see they are all frustrated with her. Unfortunatley I have to agree with the below negative reviews of her being dismissive. She even speaks down to parents. Her wellness checks are robotic, she fills out the questionaire without even asking the questions. The report we got after the wellness check had items in it that we hadnt even discussed, so it looked like she had just made up the answers. We've had wellness checks with other pediatricians there and they have all taken their time, answered our questions and were very kind. This doctor was simply rude and visibly tired of her job. Shame because all other pediatricians at Scripps have been fantastic so far! Needless to say, on our way out, we made sure they make a note in our chart that we never want to see her again. Dr. Wells has been a blessing to our family. We have 5 kids blended from two families and she has seen 2 of them through from toddler to adult already. She has always respected the kids and ALL of us parents. Three of the kids are now teens. She has supported us through physical injuries, metabolism issues, and teenage angst. She is forthright while compassionate. I absolutely trust her to lay it out straight, back it up with evidence, and walk with us even if we don't see eye to eye - which has been rare. I wish she could be my doctor too. read more

We've been seen Dr Wells for a few years now. She's always been great to my children, but I had the opportunity to really see how much she cared for her patients when my daughter was suddenly diagnosed with a devastating condition. We were receiving inadequate care and so my daughter continued to decline. This doctor became such a huge advocate for my child and helped me battle our insurance until we got in with the absolute BEST specialist. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor and advocate to be on our team. read more

Perfect location! Open parking lot! Clean spotless office! The moment I walked in I was pleased with this Dr's office. The receptionists were fast and very helpful in getting me taken care of from paperwork to co-payment. It went smoothly and that usually never happens with having to fill out new patient paperwork. My son and I waited and watched Its a Bugs Life while we sat patiently. The only thing that bothered me while waiting is the mother who had to bring in food from home to feed her kid while they waited and it stunk up the waiting room and it smelled like a dirty diaper in there disgusting and it doesn't help that my morning sickness didn't agree with the smell either!! The nurse finally called us and off we went from that moment on I was super pleased with the way she interacted with my boy. She took her time and made a game out of his checkup and that eased my sons mind and he forgot all about the shots that were to come. When she was done we waited about 5min and finally got to meet Dr. Wells she was great and took her time answering all my mom questions and gave me some awesome advice on potty training and even recommended a pediatric dentist that I could take my son to. When she was done the nurse came back and the shots went a bit like this ouch, ouchy, mom that hurts, then the screaming crying then it was all over and he got his stickers and a book and we left. Poor lil dude got a total of 4 shots and a TB test and I'm so proud of him he did an awesome job!! I'm very THANKFUL to my friend Sarah who referred me to this Dr. I see Dr. Wells being in my kids future for a long time to come!!! read more

Going to the Dr. is never fun, but somehow she makes it a treat! Dr. Wells is thorough, kind, contentious and a good dr. She is patient and never seems tired of answering questions I am sure she gets asked a hundred times a day. I never feel rushed when I am in there. I know my son is well taken care of and I trust all of her medical advice. Also, Veroncia, her nurse, is a gift. She knows how to work with squirmy little ones and somehow shots never hurt when she does them. read more

I love this office. We saw Dr. Wells from 2013-2018 and then moved to Laguna Niguel and now we are back and I am so happy to have this group of doctors again. We don't have any trouble making appointments, they are friendly and the office is clean and not a typical "pediatric" office with sick kids everywhere. This doctor is nice and came recommended from a good friend of mine with three kids. However, this place wasn't for our family. When my child was a newborn, I knew something was wrong. I kept bringing him back and I either saw Dr. Wells or one of her counterparts. I was told that "Grandma was putting ideas in my head" or "I was over reacting". Decided it was time to find a new doctor. This time I actually did some research first, talked with the office staff and within 5 minutes of my first visit, our new doc diagnosed my sons condition. Not sure how all the pediatricians at Scripps missed the obvious but when it comes to my children, being asleep at the wheel isn't acceptable. I see a lot of people are happy with the care they get here. And I'm super glad to hear that. But it wasn't the right place for our son and I'm glad I was smart enough to continue to search for answers. After all, as a parent to a newborn, you are the only voice they have. read more

I still think Dr Wells if fantastic but i did notice a trend. She was very easy to prescribe some kind of medication or some over the counter medication for my kids. I tend to lean towards, if she isn't gonna die from it then let it be ..school of thought, so I have learned to take those suggestions half heartily for now. I would prefer to hear more holistic approaches or natural ways to deal with every day issues like eczema and pm coughs for children. read more

Dr. Wells is phenomenal! She's everything you could ask for in a quality Pediatrician AND more. She brings a very high level of compassion and competence and is always willing to dig into things thoroughly. We feel incredibly fortunate that our daughter is under her care. Dr. Wells has, on many occasions, gone above and beyond - a recent example involved some test results that Dr. Wells helped us get a solid understanding of - way beyond what a lot of providers would do. We had a scare early on with our daughter (everything is great now, this was at birth before Dr. Wells) and Dr. Wells has always made us feel very confident, a very valuable comfort for us. Dr. Wells is AMAZING I had her as my never own pediatrician as a child. I am now 21 years old and she is a Dr. to remember.. Dr Pamela Wells is nice and my daughter liked her too. But unfortunately my daughter got chronic reoccurring sinusitis. I really wanted the Dr to find an alternative to antibiotics but she could only come up with salt water and my daughter then 3 years old refused. I reluctantly went with the antibiotic option believing that it was all there was you could give to a child with sinusitis. To be fair this Dr wasn't the only Dr we saw during the time my Daughter kept getting sick we did see whoever was available at the Scripps Coastal location, but she was our preferred Dr but just not always available. My daughter ended up reacting badly to the antibiotics and got more sick. We spent thousands of dollars trying to get her better. The Dr said she had seasonal allergies, but our allergist said she didn't. So we also spend months giving her antihistamines unnecessary. They said she had asthma and made her do a really expensive inhalation test thingy, again my allergist was not convinced. Finally she just got really sick to the point she needed more antibiotics to fix what the antibiotics ended up doing to her body. A horrible and expensive experience. We finally decided to try a Naturopathic Dr even though it would be out of network and we had just reached our high deductible limit. For one thing we learned that there are alternatives to antibiotics. And I'm really angry that the pediatrician could not have rather referred me to a naturopath if the only options she knew about was antibiotics and salt water. I feel like it was real negligence considering the state of the antibiotic crisis we are facing in the world right now, and the harm that antibiotics can do in general. When I did see Dr Wells on a next wellness visit I told her we are seeing a naturopathic Dr, she didn't seem to mind it at all, so that was nice I think. And I must say she's not solely to blame I did see some of the other available Drs at the practice so my daughters health decline was a joint effort. My Daughter is finally doing better now on the alternative medicine, no thanks to the Drs at this practice. read more

Dr. Wells is down to earth and is a real problem solver when it comes to some complicated cases. I have the advantage of having a medical background too so when we discuss options and concerns she and I can be very honest with each other. We like Dr. Wells after seeing her for my son's well check up. She seemed nice and asked me all about my son to get the whole picture of his health. We briefly talked about 2 big things my son was going through which were teething and sleeping issues(not uncommon for 2 years old). That was the last I saw of her. I received a bill from her office saying that they were charging me for a regular office visit and not a well check up since teething and sleeping were discussed. The woman from the billing department said that if I didn't want to get billed for an office visit then I should ignore and not answer the doctors questions about my son. Are you freaking kidding!!! This is the same doctor that would not allow me to make an office visit with her 1 month after my sons well check up to further discuss his sleeping issues. She stated that sleeping is a behavior issue and she doesn't deal with that. She said I needed to check my mental health coverage in my insurance to see who I could discuss this with. First, my son is 2 and does not have mental health issues. Second, you are a pediatrician, if you don't help with sleeping/ behavior problems than what good are you. Third, if you don't deal with behavior problems, but you have no problem billing for them. This doctor is aweful and we will never see her again. read more
