Dr. Neves and Sasha are by far the best I have come across, they have really invested their best interest in my daughter's health. My daughter has been coming here since she was 2-3 months old and had several health problems. They both have done so much for my daughter and she is no longer colic and uncomfortable, totally a sweet and happy baby now thanks to California Pediatrics. They are both so caring and kind and by far the best in pediatrics. Extremely knowledgeable and give plenty of take-home care to nurse your child back to health. They also invest in proper development and really take the time to make sure your child is on track. Front desk is so helpful with booking appointments and any account management. BEST DOCTOR EVER!!! My family has known Dr. Neves for a while now. I took my kids to see her when she was at NCHS and it was sad to see her go but then later found at she was here at CALIFORNIA PEDIATRICS. We had to follow her because she is that great! She listens to all of our concerns, gives us advice on what to do, she is NEVER pushy nor hurry's us up. She always takes her time and is gentle with out children. My kids adore her and feel so comfortable with her. That is very important to me. My kids call her their FAVORITE DOCTOR!!! Front office staff and medical assistants are so nice and knowledgeable. They always try to fit us in if we have to need to be seen same day. They make my children feel comfortable when they come in. They work well with children. I really have no complaints. If I could give more than 5 stars for Dr. Neves I would! We recently changed insurance plans and I was nervous about meeting my daughter's new pediatrician. My husband did a bunch of research and picked her based on the great reviews on various medical sites. Boy he hit the ball out of the park! Her office is clean, has a ton of cool toys (which are also clean) for kids to play with, and a HUGE TV in the waiting room. Her staff is very pleasant and welcoming as well. My daughter hates the doctor (as most 2 year olds do lol) and this was the first time she didn't cry once at a doctor's visit! I brought my little one in because she had a bad cough and low grade fever. From the very beginning Dr. Neves was incredibly kind, gentle and incredibly patient with my daughter. I have felt rushed in the past with her previous pediatrician. She also was very prompt. My daughter warmed up to her immediately because Dr. Neves let her play with her ear scope and even had a couple toys in her lab coat pockets! My daughter really liked that Dr Neves let her use the tools on her first before she examined my daughter. She was incredibly thorough and in order for her to check my daughter's lungs she had a pinwheel in the exam room and had my daughter blow on it to make it spin. I was SUPER impressed by that (I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years!). She also had to do a throat culture and I thought for sure my little one would cry but she was so gentle and fast it was over quick! Then when the exam was all over my daughter got a Cinderella sticker (everyone with a toddler knows stickers are a big deal). I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Neves!! read more

We had to change pediatricians about a year and a half ago and I was so upset about leaving our original doctor. I did my online research and made the decision to bring our son to Dr. Neves at California Pediatrics. What a wonderful decision we made!! From the very first visit we knew how lucky we were to have gotten her. The office is clean and the ladies up front are wonderful and always helpful. It was never an issue getting an appointment and if we needed to be seen last minute, they would do their very best to accommodate us. We even had a couple of mini-emergencies at home and were able to call and send in picture of cut or rash and always received feedback that day and would let us know if it would be best to come in. As first time parents, we worry a lot and they did their best to ease our minds. Dr. Neves is a special doctor and person. Always warm and welcoming and so gentle with our little guy. We never felt rushed with her. She would take her time, listen to our questions, and explain things in her gentle manner. And, of course, a hug on the way out of the room. If you are like us, and your baby is your number one priority, don't hesitate to bring your child here. It's hard to find care like this and I am truly grateful we did. I'd been holding off on this review but i think its time for me to leave a little summary as to why i don't think we'll be coming here much longer. When i first switched over to them and i met Dr Neves i really liked her! She's sweet, is bilingual, and i felt did a great job with my son. Out of all the visits I've had I've only seen her twice. Most of the time I'm scheduled with the nurse practitioner which i honestly don't think it's the same... There are serious concerns id much rather go over with the MD. Fast forward to a couple of visits i was concerned with my sons motor skills, soothing habits and a few other things to which i reached out to Regional (sept/oct) and they provided a referral (which i'd asked California Peds to refer me to them and never happened). Once Regional came to my home and suggested occupational therapy California peds asked for "proof" which i then provided at my sons next appointment and have not heard since, that was two months ago (Nov). My service coordinator from Regional even thought that was ridiculous! and even provided me with her card that has her name and number stapled to the "proof" they asked for (incase they had other questions) and she hasn't been contacted either! I called about 4-5 times and they either tell me the referral person is not in, will get back to me, is/was on break and should be getting back to me. I'd also asked the peds office if they could refer me to a neurologist and haven't heard about that either. I'd like to ease my mind and clear things out AND help my son at the same time. He's still young, i believe that the earlier the better and better now than sorry or allowing things to becoming worse. Im starting to look into another office. Elsewhere where they actually care for our concerns and take their time to call back or look into things. ----------------------------- Also, last appointment (two weeks after 12m shots) i mentioned to them that with those shots he had a red bumpy blotch on his left leg. Which showed up the day after the shots, they took a look at it and mentioned possibly a bite, reaction to detergent which no i had not changed it, no there was no bite marks other than the needle incision. Dr Neves and Sasha made a stressful situation for our 15 year old (and us) into a wonderful positive experience, with a great ending. Our daughter suffered a brain concussion while riding roller coasters at Magic Mountain, our (now old) pediatrician barely took the time to check her out and ordered us to go to the ER at Rady's for an MRI (40min away for us). We asked to go to a local lab to have the MRI done quicker and closer. Our pediatrician refused to send the prescription to the local lab. We thus found Dr Neves. She saw us quickly, spent about 20min doing physical/mobility tests, talking to our daughter and ordered a CT SAN at a local lab. Within an hour of meeting Dr Neves, Sasha and the incredible Diana (who got us the aptmt for the CT SCAN in minutes) we knew our daughter's brain had no swelling, nor bleeding, just a bruise that needed rest and some Tylenol. Bummer. I really like the doctors here, but front office staff rarely answers the phone, and when you do get them, they are rude and condescending. Tried to get a well child visit and was told they only do them at 11a.m. - on school/ work days. I asked for early or late, happy to wait if it takes a month, and was told no. I am extremely discriminating when it comes to choosing a pediatrician for my children, and believe me when I tell you I have searched high and low and tried out *multiple* practices. Dr. Neves, N.P. Sasha, and their staff are truly exceptional. (In my opinion, the two recent overly-emotional and scathing 1-star reviews below say more about the reviewers themselves than about this office or its staff.) Contrary to what the two negative reviewers below said, I have only ever witnessed the office staff here show the utmost in professionalism and care. I can always get my children in when I need to, and I have had to take them in a LOT over the years. The office staff is very accommodating, and though they may get busy, they are always polite. (I must add that one reviewer's comment about someone "not knowing English" strikes me as rather racist as well, and I find it offensive). Now to the important part: Dr. Neves seems like one of those people who is a true natural, like she was born to be a pediatrician. Her bedside manner is actually the best of any doctor I have ever been to myself--and I am in my 30's! She has a few kids herself, and is very child-centered in her approach. She softly, gently, and naturally puts even the youngest children at ease. Talks directly to children and interacts in a warm and playful way, following their social cues carefully. She really focuses on building trust, and a caring relationship with each child, and perhaps just as importantly, with each parent. She has hugged me and reassured me when I was scared or stressed about my children's health, she always has time to sit and explain things to me, she has a wealth of experience and knowledge. She is truly someone I trust completely with my children's lives. Plus, she is part of Rady's and Board-Certified, which is extra-reassuring. She goes above and beyond to check every tiny detail that may be relevant to assessing my children's condition and well-being. Her N.P. Sasha shares the same wonderful caring, gentle, and thorough qualities as well. Their nurses are all great as well. I cannot tell you how relieved I was to find Dr. Neves and her office. I am so grateful to them for all that they do to take such good care of my children. I drive all the way from Oceanside just to see them, and it is totally worth it. We LOVE Dr. Sasha! My husband and I recently moved to vista with our 8 month old daughter, and I was nervous about going to a new pediatrician. We saw Dr. Sasha for the first time when my daughter was 9 mo, and again at her 12mo appointment. Dr. Sasha is so sweet and kind, and really listens to my questions. We are vaccinating, but on a delayed schedule, and Dr. Sasha completely respects my decision as a parent to vaccinate as much as we feel comfortable doing at our visits. She took an hour with my husband and I, answered all my questions and even held my hand as I cried when my little got her vaccination shots. I have never felt so condescended and looked down upon by front office staff. Good luck getting any eye contact or real help from the girl at the front desk. We took our son there for an eval and it took two weeks to get a call back on any sort of plan for treatment, and then it was vague at best. Fast forward to today....while I was on the phone, in the office, with the state of CA to get my daughter's insurance number for her appointment (since they still have yet to send a BIC card) they refused her appointment until I had that information... even though my son had already been seen by Dr. Neves. Yeah, I am LIVID!!! Don't worry Cal Pedi....we won't darken your doors again since payment is FIRST and FOREMOST at your practice and not the patient. I have been a Paramedic for many years and have never seen a patient or parent of a patient be treated this way. My first visit to this place was horrific. I needed to find a local pediatrician since we moved to San Marcos. We used to be at Scripps and had the best care for my other child. Our 4 month old needed her well check. I was told by the nurse practitioner that my daughter appeared anemic and they checked her hemoglobin in the office. It was low twice. Said it was dangerously low and I needed to take her immediately to Radys and she might need blood. Panicked and frantic that is what I did. Radys did all the tests and they came back fine. They were puzzled and found no signs on anemia based on exam either. I was relieved and furious. Dr. Neves contacted me and basically wanted me to give them a 2nd chance. I did because I felt like she was compassionate and caring and mistakes happen. Our son started daycare and has literally been sick since September. We have been there a lot. We have also had to to go urgent care for his breathing on the weekends when the office isn't open. The doctors at Radys urgent care always contradict what the drs at California Pediatrics say. No he shouldn't be on that inhaler he has no signs of needing an inhaler. The inhaler was given to both of my kids. Fast forward to most recent issue. My son had just recovered from a 5 day high fever and my daughter was starting her round of the sickness. They wanted to give the JUST The flu shot. I said let's wait. I have two under two and no help. I need a break from fevers and sickness. I went home and thought about it and decided to take them back later that day and just get it over with. The nurse was confused by what shot they should give since it was their first time and my son had had it once before but never a booster. The nurse back in the nurse practitioner who asked me "do you have questions?" no! Your nurse did!! Then on my way out the nurse mentions that we refused the other shot for my 7 month old. I was like what shot? The Dr. Neeves never mentioned another shot? I was upset and just left it was the end of their day and I had been there twice so I left. I asked about the shot the next time I was there. The nurse tells me at the 4 month apt. ( my first horrific apt) they were out of the shot. (Never told me) they gave her one at 6 months but then she still needed one more pneumococcal. And they could give it today. No one had mentioned that. Not at the 4 month, 6 month, or follow up apts for my sick daughter. The nurse mentioned it. I think I'm finally done with this practice. I've been more than patient with them and kept considering how close they were to my home. I really wanted to trust the people and the process and be understanding that the first mistake happened. Doctor Neves is the only pediatrician we trust with our children's health. She doesn't just meet our expectation, she goes so far beyond it. We have had 3 other pediatricians who were okay and even pretty good, but nowhere near as phenomenal as Dr. Neves. Her and all of her staff are so knowledgeable and compassionate. I have never met a doctor with such a perfect balance of professionalism, relatability and compassion while not compromising sound and objective medical care. During this pandemic, Dr. Neves has gone far beyond our expectation in providing thorough care while also keeping the office clean, socially distanced, and orderly. Hours have reduced but it has not reduced the quality of care her practice provides. All of our needs have been met and I am thankful she is doing what she needs to protect herself and her staff in addition to all the children she cares for. I've been taking my twin boys to NP Sasha for about 3 months. She's been amazing so far, very sweet and knowledgable. Just recently one of my kids injured himself and ended up with nurse maids elbow. I had him in Tri-City for about 3-4 hours and it was little to no help. I took him in to Sasha and within 10 minutes he was up and running again. I have usually been satisfied with my experience, the doctor has always been great, but I'm SO disappointed in the lack of professionalism in the office staff. I had to wait almost a month for my daughters wellness check, which I understand is not at all their fault, but then they cancelled my appointment to give it to another patient because I did not call back their message the day before to confirm my appointment, which I couldn't do during working hours. Their message never said to call back or it would be cancelled. Their policies given out only talk about a $25 cancellation. On top of it all because I mentioned that my daughter had just gotten over being sick and I had questions they tried to say I might be billed a copay since it's not just her annual well-check (which is covered by insurance). I'm furious that they are saying I cannot ask my doctor questions about her wellness without being considered here for sickness and I'm now waiting in their office full of germs to be seen. read more

These are the most unorganized, disrespectful, unintelligent, people I have ever had to deal with. And I gave them chances, time and time again. DO NOT GO HERE. Go anywhere else, unless you want to schedule and appointment, take the day off work, get your sick kid all the way there, to be turned away and refused service because the receptionist does not understand English and got confused. There is no office manager, the doctor is unaware or does not care to educate the staff on how to treat people. Only after getting home at 6pm, I received a call asking if I was still outside in the parking lot from my 2pm appointment, and I was told I could be seen now they had got confused she said, then they promised to make that right, and said to reschedule and come back and they would see my daughter for free, I bet you can guess what happened when I got there for the next appointment, yup, turned away refused to see me. AGAIN. I offered to pay cash, I offered to do whatever it took, they just said no, I just received a call this morning confirming my appointment for tomorrow? what appointment? are they serious? I asked nicely to speak to a manager after explaining what had happened, after three transfers and 30 minutes on hold they hung up on me and now refuse to answer my calls or return my voicemails, my daughter is still sick and I had to drive 45 minutes to have her seen. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, and honestly at this point even if they offered to see her for free every month for the rest of her life I would not take her there, I do not trust them and the disrespect on their part is disgusting, especially considering in this situation I had done everything correctly, and the error was on their end, yet somehow I receive all the attitude from them? how do you figure that. I really wanted to like Dr. Neves. I've waited over 6 months to write this review because i wanted to explore other pediatricians and see if maybe I was just being unfair to her. Unfortuantely, I wasn't. Dr. Neves did not like any question to her plan of care and was very defensive when I would ask about different options for my daughter, based off research I had done. I'm a registered nurse with years of experience, including pediatrics and research. My questions were never based off anything other than evidence I had found by searching relevant and evidence based sources. Dr. Neves refused to support my efforts to first try and fix my daughter's lip and tongue tie before thickening her milk at 6 weeks old. She also refused to support my request for a hypoallergenic formula I wanted to try for my daughter who was struggling with eating and gaining weight. On one occasion when I called on a Saturday lookin for help for my daughter's reflux, she told me that I had to take my daughter to the ER immediately because I had caused her to aspirate into her lungs bc i didn't follow her plan. I know enough to know my daughter hadn't aspirated but what a terrible thing to say to a new parent- what kind of doctor tries to use fear of harming your child to get you to follow their exact instructions? After i switched pediatricians and found a supportive doctor who prescribed the formula i wanted to try, my baby's colic went away and she started gaining weight like a champ. She started thriving. Dr. Neves is great if you want to follow every single thing your doctor says and not question your child's care at all, based off your own research or intuitive maternal instinct. Dr. Neves is truly a one-of-a-kind pediatrician. I specifically wanted to share an incident where she went above and beyond to make sure my child was receiving the best treatment possible. My 1 year old son had a pretty severe allergic reaction where he broke out in a heavy rash, and had swelling in both his hands and his feet. Unfortunately we were not able to go into her office since we were up in Orange County. I called the local pediatrician in our area and when I explained my child's condition, they didn't see it as an urgent issue and scheduled the next available appointment which was a week out. Still being worried I called Dr. Neves office and she immediately called me back and took the time to listen to every concern I had. After listening to everything she felt the urgency for us to come in to her office right away to at least take a look. However since we were still unable to get in, she called the local pediatric office for us and went over the need to have our child seen right away and they were able to schedule us right away. My son ended up receiving medicine that reduced the swelling immediately and his rash eventually went away. I cant thank Dr. Neves enough for helping us get an appointment even outside of her office, when she knew we needed to be seen. She truly treats her patients as her own and as a parent herself, understands the concerns and worries we have as parents. Even though we continued care with the local pediatrician, she followed up with me several times to check on how my son was doing. If youre looking for a pediatrician that is not only extremely knowledgeable, but caring, and will go out of her way to provide your child with the best, then definitely visit Dr. Neves at California Pediatrics.
