So we decided to overlook the negative reviews about kicking people out of her daycare and keeping peoples' deposits and give her a try. We went with a very expensive $300 a week for 3 days of care and a $300 deposit was required. A week after my son started daycare she put a yelp deal for $250 per week for 5 days of care. I asked her about it and she made up some BS about yelp doing that automatically and the deal wasnt valid. That was obviously a lie but whatever we went with her anyway. Unfortunately the bad reviews are very accurate of what kind of person Georgina Manzo is. She is shady and all she cares about is money. After the shelter in place order we tried put a pause to daycare and we were promptly kicked out after I told her that I would not be able to pay her during the pandemic. She kept my $300 deposit and my sons clothes, medicine and epipens. We tried to get our stuff back various times. We went to her home and her husband answered the door and said she was in the shower during daycare hours. More BS. Overall a person you do not want to be in business with. We have decided to take her to small claims court to recover our deposit and costs for the items she kept. Please be advised and don't make the same mistake we did. You have been warned. read more

If I could give Gina a 10, I would. I am a travel professional out of state, my son is a 12-yr old Downs. I got really lucky to have found Gina being from out of state and know no one here in Redwood City. I was in need of day care on the fly the weekend before I start my interim job in March of this year. Gina right away took us in under her care and gave me the sense of trust that my son not only will be safe but also will get tender loving care. School bus drops off my son at Gina's and my son is happy every time I pick him up. Gina is thoughtful and really takes note of my son's medication and dietary preferences. Gina gave me a little painting for Mother's Day that she painted herself. She said she gave every mother at her daycare her painting. We are still with Gina to this date. Gina's place is beautiful, homey, cozy, and most importantly safe, secure, clean, easy to navigate from my work which is right here in downtown Redwood City. We've been with Gina's daycare for about 3 weeks now, and we're grateful that we found this daycare. Our 10 month old son is happy when we drop him off and pick him up. He also gets his naps and meals there during the day without a problem. Gina is also very thoughtful about the holidays - she plans celebrations and gifts for mother's day, father's day, etc. The daycare is a very caring, safe environment, and it's a great experience for our baby. read more

Gina's Child Care is by far the nicest child care I've been to. The enclosed deck where the kids play and are cared for and back yard are beautiful! My daughter just plain loves Gina! We are so blessed to have our oldest son in Gina's care! He has been there for a year now, and his speech has improved tremendously. We signed a care agreement, placed a deposit and met with Gina months before our daughter was actually to start in her care. We wanted to make sure we had our daughters care arrangements made well in advance, but we had to give up dealing with Gina since we could not get in touch with her at all after we paid our deposit. First of all, the home phone number that is listed on her website, here on yelp, and on her business cards does not call her house. We, multiple times, called and left a message on the machine that is associated with this number. After a few messages, we received a call back from a CPA in the Easy Bay that said this number is not for Gina's but for her, and that she gets these calls all the time. After several more attempts to contact Gina on her mobile phone (which we had once previously gotten a hold of her on) we left messages there asking to call us back so we could touch base before our daughter started in her care (it had been a few months since we signed the agreement). I even stopped by the daycare and knocked during regular business hours with no luck. Avoid this place like the plague...We lost out on $450 (one weeks worth of care) because we did not do enough research and trusted this women when we met her. read more

We're very thankful for the time our son has spent with Gina, Reina and their team over the past 2 years. In this day and age where business can be overly transactional or focused solely on earning, it's incredible to find people that genuinely care. Over and above the required care to operate this kind of business, it's the little things such as not penny-pinching a few minutes late with a fee, willing to do extra to help manage ongoing treatment and giving small tokens of appreciation to the parents during special occasions among many other things that show how much they care. Perhaps this is the standard for day care, but if so, not everyone meets it. They certainly do and we are grateful to have had this great experience. Gina's DayCare has been so great to my daughter, we have been coming here for about 1 year now and my daughter loves it, Gina and Reyna helped with her potty training and is now Diaper free and that was a huge help for us, her vocabulary has grown so much also, my daughter always has a smile on her face and leaves wanting to come back, we highly appreciate Gina and the great care that she provides for my daughter. read more

This is the most horrible and worst daycare we ever had! Gina didn't took care of my daughter at day one of my daughter when i picked her up she is very messy and stinky and she got poop and her diaper which is obviously stayed longer on her bum.And when i told her about that she asked us to leave right away and find another daycare I feel discriminated bcoz she treat us not right! my daughter's stuff are on the outside if her house and she dont want to put the carseat inside her house while the other parents are freely can do what they want. My son attended Gina's Daycare for 3 years, before sadly heading off to preschool. My daughter is currently in Gina's care and has been since she was 5 months old (currently 1 year old). I have learned so much from Gina over the years! I feel comfortable dropping off my kids each day, and they always come home with smiles on their faces. As a teacher in Menlo Park, I am quite satisfied with the social skills my son developed, including manners! Our son was shown much love on a daily basis from the time he was six months to two years old at Gina's by both Gina and Reina. We were also very impressed by the social skills he picked up while at daycare. In groups of children, he is quick to share with other toddlers. He also started saying please and thank you and cleaning up after himself at home. As a new mom I was SO ANXIOUS about sending my son to daycare... it was honestly to the point where I felt crippled from anxiety during my maternity leave. I had no choice but to return to work, so I began casually reaching out to various daycares (both family based and facility based) to see who would respond with tour availability and (fingers crossed), infant availability. I contacted Gina and she responded the SAME DAY letting me know I could swing by on a Thursday evening to meet her and tour her home. I remember the evening well as it was cold and rainy - by contrast Gina's home was warm and bright. She welcomed my son and I inside and I immediately appreciated her attention to detail: the amazing hand painted murals on her walls, the homemade interactive/developmentally appropriate toys, the 1/2 bath designed just to help support kids with potty training, and so much more. She was so reassuring and told me that I needed to go with my gut and talk to other moms who had gone through daycare selection. She gave me a reference (another mom who had sent both of her babies to Gina) and told me I should talk to this mom... that even if I decided to not go to Gina, it would help me to ask questions. I have to say quite honestly that I toured a few other places after visiting Gina... got on a few other waitlists... but never quite got the same 'gut feeling'. The first two weeks were so tough still leaving my baby BUT sending my son to daycare, to a FAMILY home based daycare, and ultimately GINA'S daycare, has been THE BEST decision. Gina and her helper Raina feel so familiar and welcoming. They genuinely love and care for the babies and the older kids. The older kids are so polite and seem so happy to be at Gina's. My son always has a clean diaper at pick up, a change of clothes if needed (he is a messy one, haha), and is sometimes so happy and so enamored with Gina and Reina that I think he would almost rather stay with them for the night. How reassuring is it when your own baby coos and smiles at his daytime caregivers when you drop him off and pick him up? Gina has been helping to introduce solids to my son and he is so good at eating now because of her. I also love that he is being exposed to solely Spanish during his time at Gina's and that he will learn baby sign language. We are so blessed to have found Gina (and Reina :)) and I do not know what I would do without them. All of my family is out of state, and my husband works 80+ hours a week... **I want to preface my review by saying that while my child is at a preschool now closer to my home, he's so well behaved and adjusted because of Gina's Childcare! I'm updating my review regarding Gina because I talk to friends who have continued issues with their providers and I've had NONE! Now, I'm realistic and not overly picky about every lil thing because sometimes I feel parents are overly critical of daycare providers, which is a very hard job. Gina's home is clean, she has a good size designated play area for the kids, her assistant is super loving and attentive, her price is very competitive and includes fresh meals, my child does not cry when I drop him off (there was a normal adjustment period of course), he's always changed when I pick him up, she has lots of activities which I know is real important for many parents when chosing daycare/ preschool. Gina does not complain about every "normal" child behavior but works with you and is educated about child development. I trust Gina and her assistant Reina so I'm at peace when I drop my lil one off and for me, peace of mind is #1! read more

I would highly recommend this daycare. Gina and her assistants, Reyna and Belinda, do such a good job with the kids. They even taught my girl baby sign language and some Spanish vocabulary. Also they enforced basic manners and I started noticing my daughter say please and thank you much more often after starting daycare here. They are available for drop off at 7am which makes getting to work on time more manageable and they are open until 5:30pm for pick up. They make sure that diapers are clean when it comes time for pick up. They have a good sized yard for playing and a toddler sized potty and sink. They make homemade meals that my daughter loves and feed the kids very well. They are friendly both to my child and to myself and my husband and have a lot of years of experience with little ones. Great choice for a daycare in Redwood City at an affordable rate. read more

My 2-year-old son has been at Gina's daycare since he was eight months old, and he couldn't be happier! He is excited to get there every morning, and he loves the caregivers and other kids. The facilities at the daycare are great, with a large outdoor space filled with developmentally appropriate climbers and toys. The kids play outside often, and my son loves his little group of friends. He has learned excellent social skills since being in Gina's care, and she never hesitates to communicate with me if she has a concern. I have a 2 yr old son and a 10 month old daughter. The minute I contacted the daycare I was given such excellent service and my kids were welcomed into the tight, close family. The owner, Gina, is very nice and very accomodating. It's very affordable (especially for today's economy). I love the crafts she does with the kids. Gina's childcare is bar none, the absolute BEST!! I had my son there from the time he was 4 months old, until he was 4 years old. My son is now 7 years old and STILL asks to visit Gina and her wonderful assistant Reyna. I now have my 8 month old daughter there. Both of these women provide a genuine, loving and caring environment for the children in their care. I work with children & families and can personally and professionally recommend Gina's child care. The quality of the genuine care provided to my children, is in my opinion priceless!! It is a great feeling to leave your children at a daycare and not worth that they are being harmed or neglected. The Assistant Reina provides the extra touch of nurturing that makes the children and parent comfortable and secure. In addition to the wonderful care, Gina is licensed, CPR certified and educationally based. Gina truly assists the children in her care to achieve their developmental milestones and keeps it fun. After visiting so many daycares and getting frustrated, I came across Gina's Child Care services in Yelp. After reading the review, I called her and she told me to come right in. I was at her place within 15 minutes. I felt so good just being told that I could just come anytime. Gina (the owner) and Reyna are wonderful! After I met, there was no looking back. My 5 month old (she started when she was 4 months) is loving this place. Everytime she sees Gina and Reyna, she get super excited and starts smiling at both of them. This makes us come back because I see that my child is very happy. We will also be bringing our 5 year old during summer break. Gina and Reyna provide a loving environment for the kids.
