Went at the perfect time, between lunch and dinner. Lots of Togo orders going out. I had the bulgogi and it was a nice spring type feel meal and it was delicious- sorry no photo. Dumplings were yummy (and I don't normally eat them) the Mongolian beef was great, on the spicy side if you like that as well. The calamari was the best I've had in awhile, but the tofu Hot Pot said it would be spicy, it was not... AT ALL, it was pretty bland. Take out-General's Tso's chicken with broccoli and small shrimp fried rice. No flavor in the chicken-a mildly sweet sauce covering it. Large chunks of chicken as tough as I can make at home-they clearly forgot or do not know how to velvitise chicken-I can get this at Costco. No flavor or character at all. Most places in Appleton doesn't surprise me. I went and met up with a friend here for brunch buffet. It wasn't an all out buffet but they had certain menu items established. To my surprise everything from the fried rice, eggroll, soup, and appetizers were great! Fried chicken was fried to perfection. Fried rice had a nice hint of wok smokiness! I was so amazed I went back and their sushi which was decent, but every other dish that they served from their special item of "golden peking duck" was. Hit! Went with some friends to GingeRootz. This place has the most delicious Asian food I've ever had. My go to is sweet and sour soup. This was almost thick it had so much stuff in in - in a good way I also had an ell roll called Caterpillar. it too was very tasty. The roll was firm and tall and. again. very tasty Both our friends had Kung Pao triple, which they adjusted to their taste. There was enough for a second meal for each. They also ordered Crab Ragoons, which were less crispy than I'm used to and I thought were excellent. My frien likes them more crispy. My husband had the cashew chicken which he enjoyed. The ingredients in the cashew chicken and the Kung Pao triple were fresh and looked delicious The presentation was excellent. I came here on a first date while I was visiting in town. It's funny my date waited in the parking lot because he was worried. I was going to show up as a man. He picked this restaurant because he thought it was one of the better sushi spots in town. I'll definitely give them props for their creativity. Who ever made the sushi it was consistent & cared for... the drinks were balanced...the Cha Cha Shrimp or whatever was some serious Gas 10/10. Built our own bowl. Service: They have always completed our order exactly how we have ordered it, no errors or mix ups. Food: Let me say this. I LOVE THEIR PORK DUMPLINGS. You can tell that each one is individually produced by hand. The sauce for them is great and the filling has loads of flavor. Fried or steamed, these will always be a staple for me. Their pad thai is a little too saucy for me but the portion size is decent so this is my fiances go to. Always a great experience here! Since COVID, we've gotten food to go at least once a month! I usually get fried rice or beef with broccoli - simple but good nonetheless. I refused to believe the new reviews but they are definitely true. Guessing the place has new ownership as the place looks totally different than it used to. Fish tank is gone and they maximized the number of tables they can fit on the floor. I have no problem with a place trying to make more money but they need to have the staff to pull it off and they don't. Concerning the food, egg rolls are different and definitely not as good as before. The dumplings were good but came out ice cold. The pad thai was spicy and didn't even taste like pad thai and the crystal shrimp were okay but the sauce is different and seemed lazy. Even the fried rice wad bland! I've eaten here a few times, had steady and decent experiences, but tonight was not only out of the ordinary, it was awful. I ordered moo shu pork and stir fried eggplant. It was the worst moo shu I've ever had. The quality of pork was a joke - in the entire dish I probably found 7 pieces of pork and the 3 largest pieces were pure gristle. The remaining pieces were tiny. So essentially I paid $12 for cabbage, eggs, and hoisin sauce. Moo shu is supposed to be pork thinly sliced into slivers - this was just random chunks of meat (gristle, mind you). Just horrible. Don't ever order this dish - or at least don't ever order PORK here. To make matters worse, moo shu is supposed to come with pancakes. Gingerootz gave me tortillas. FOR REAL. Who does that? There wasn't anything redeeming about this dish - just horrible! The stir fried egg plant tasted fine but I don't appreciate ordering a petite size and only getting 3/4 of the take out container filled. Skimpy much? The only reason I didn't rate this meal 1 star is because service was good (as it's usually been) and they didn't mess up my side of brown rice. So what I'm really saying is I feel I've been pretty generous with a 2 star rating. I don't plan to come back for awhile after eating this. read more

In the last year it on a path down hill, Sunday nights order was so bad we threw most of it away. the crab Rangoon was dipped in hot oil not browned even a tiny bit. wonton soup was a few slices of carrots some mixed slices of meat 2 shrimp and some noodles , the fr rice was the color of soy sauce and cruncby rice . Excellent! We came here on a Saturday for dinner, around 6:30. While they were relatively busy, the hostess got us seated right away, in an intimate portion of the restaurant. The waiter came shortly thereafter and was super friendly and accommodating. So the service is fantastic. Now for the food: We started off with a chicken lettuce wrap. For those that do not know, it's 4 leaves of lettuce you use for the wrap, and then a chicken/vegetable/rice mixture that you put in the wrap. Very good! My wife had the cashew/almond chicken. She loved it. She said it was phenomenal. Very good portion and she got a petite. I had the filet pepper steak with mixed vegetables. That was also amazing! The meat was so tender. This was my first dining experience since moving to Appleton and unfortunately the experience was very mixed. We found this restaurant thanks to Yelp while searching for some hot soup and Pad Thai in the area. The Wor Wonton Soup was fresh, delicious and made with high quality ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised that the wontons were made with high quality beef rather than a questionable mix of meats like I've found at some restaurants. Overall, the Wor Wonton soup was a fresh, delicious and our favorite dish of the evening. The Pad Thai was made with a generous amount of egg, scallions, and chicken. There was a sprinkling of peanuts on top, but overall the flavor of the dish was pretty light. I used the chili oil that the restaurant provided to "kick it up a notch." I realize Pad Thai is not meant to be a spicy dish, but it was somewhat lacking in the flavor department. My least favorite dish of the night was unfortunately the one I'd selected: Undon Noodle Bowl with Beef and Vegetables. Maybe this was an off night for the restaurant and the other noodle bowls are quite tasty, but this one was over-cooked and not at all satisfying. It was $4.99 for the Undon Noodles, $3.49 for the Beef, $3.49 to add vegetables, and an extra $1.00 for Garlic Sauce. What did I actually get for that $12.97 dish? Well, it had a thick brown sauce that tasted like soy sauce and lacked any garlic flavor. The vegetables were soggy and completely over cooked. The beef was okay, but not very tender and fairly lacking in flavor. I had a few bites of my Udon Noodle Bowl before finding it so disappointing and non-appetizing that I tossed the rest of it out. Bummer! We may be back when we have a craving for hot Wor Wonton Soup, but I was overall pretty disappointed with the rest of the food. read more

For a long time we have heard about this place, and driven by it several times. The food here was absolutely amazing. We started off with pot stickers, an Appleton roll (which was amazing).... I got the General Tso chicken. Amazing. Spice level 3. My girlfriend got the spicy ahi tuna salad which was perfection. Our server Clint here was fantastic with an awesome personality. The food is pretty good but the service didn't match. There were a couple groups and it seems they were overcome by these groups, and everyone else suffered. We were there for about an hour and 45 min and still ended up having to get our meals to go because of how slow things were. It took about 20 min just to get our drinks and edamame. Service aside, we got the General Tso's chicken and Kung Pao chicken. Our kids shared an order of the kids noodles with chicken and peas. I could have eaten the kids' food and been completely happy, they loved it as well. Both of the chicken dishes were pretty good but not worth half the wait. We ordered delivery, which took almost 1.5 hours to arrive (we live within a mile of the restaurant). Nothing in our order was complicated as well, which further makes the wait ridiculous. They tipped themselves on our credit card, which was vexing. THEN our order was cold, the chicken rubbery, and servings not befitting the price. I called and was told "someone would make it right before the evening was over." The restaurant blamed the delivery service (Food Dudes), but they claim they waited for over 30 min for our order to be completed. We ended up having to cook something for our children since the food chicken was inedible. I'll follow up when I learn of the resolution. I had an unacceptable wait time, and my order was incorrect. I ordered dinner for my family online in the afternoon. In the online form, I selected a order pickup time of 5:30. I arrived at 5:30 and was told my order would be at least another 60-75 minutes. I was told they would test me when it was ready. 90 minutes later I still had not received a text, so I drove back. I was told again that it would be 60-75 minutes. I finally got my dinner a few minutes before 8 PM. When I got home I discovered that I was missing one of our dinners, and ended up eating cold pizza for dinner. read more
