My grandma and I went on a few erransds and we happen to pass by this restaurant a few times so i decided to take her to eat here for brunch. I ordered off their slick wall menu of some familiar foods my gma would be comfortable with such as beef pho, eggrolls, stuff wings, and thai drink. The food was delicious and nogalstic. I Loved that it was a small family-owned business with homestyle cooking. They had quite a 1:30pm rush though! I would advise at most 4/5 party group. Service was pleasant but you def need to give the servers a moment to come around to you, but ofc you can always be the one to go to them too. Always delicious! You have to try the stuffed chicken wings. So unique and yummy. I do not know how they do it but they stuff a chicken wing with filing similar to an egg roll. It comes two really good dipping sauces. One very spicy, wow! The curry dishes are packed with so much flavor and ingredients. Don't let the building exterior deter you, all the food is amazing. This is a small eatery but has some yummy items. I recommend trying the stuffed chicken wings. The chicken is flavorful and juicy. The stuffing is primarily rice noodles and cabbage. I prefer to order the wing spicy. The chicken itself is not spicy but you are given a very flavorful thai chili pepper sauce that is very tasty. The one thing I did not like was the nuoc cham (fish dipping sauce). It is too sweet and has little to no fish sauce in it. I had the pad see ew and my wife had the pad Thai. Both were tasty. Although my chicken was a little dry. Her tofu was fried perfectly. You can order each dish medium, spicy, or very spicy. First want to start with how kind the staff are!! They are very helpful and attentive. We decided to eat in and this place is fairly small but still welcoming. It was mid day on a Tuesday so not too busy but they did have several to go orders and other tables full inside. They're extremely fast getting food out however! We got the Thai iced tea, one chicken egg roll, one pork roll, two stuffed chicken wings (one for each of us), a pork pad Thai that ended up coming out with chicken instead (happy accident), and the chicken Thai pad see ew. I have had far too many egg rolls to admit to a number but the egg rolls here are TRULY THE BEST EGGROLLS IVE EVER HAD. The pork was my favorite of the two we tried but the chicken was just as good. They're perfectly proportional of filling to crispy and flaky exterior. They also come with sweet & sour sauce or spicy and they are AMAZING to mix together. I wish I had a photo to show but we devoured these. The stuffed chicken was DELICIOUS as well. Really not sure how they do these but clearly they are known for these and they are truly the bomb! The pad Thai was accidentally made with chicken but it was still delicious! The plate is much bigger than we thought so my partner only got through maybe half of this before getting a take away box. It was tangier than we expected with no spice but after adding the spicy sauce from the eggrolls it was perfect for his taste. Finally the Thai pad see ew was a welcome dish. The noodles were thicker than I'm used to but again no harm there. It also was a huge dish so maybe half way through got a box. This place is so good. Parking is kind of hard to find, there are a few spots outside but not many, this really seems more like a to-go restaurant than a sit down. We were the only people eating inside but dozens of people picked up food and left. Service was just okay. I got the crab rangoon as an appetizer and it was pretty average. The Pad Thai with shrimp was very similar. Had the family there and all of the food was pretty mid. Not the best of anything we've ever had but not the worst, just run of the mill. I've been going here for years and am shocked to have never written a review on this fantastic little family restaurant. While it doesn't look like much on the outside and doesn't have great parking, it makes up for it with excellent food. When you enter there is a great menu board. There are photos of each item. For those who are leery because of not being familiar with the names, the visual really helps. You order, pay and then wait for your food. If you are in a hurry, you might be disappointed; they can get super busy and sometimes you need to wait. The wait is worth it. They are known for their stuffed chicken wings. They are exceptional and I've never seen them anywhere else. They also offer spring rolls (my favorite) and three different flavors of egg rolls to get your meal started. I love their Pho Combo but I've had almost everything on their menu at one time or another. I've never been disappointed. If you like your food a bit spicier, ask and they will prepare it to your liking. I prefer to eat at the restaurant; however, I've also ordered food for take out many times. Sounds good to me! So the four of us went. It's a smaller joint but we didn't have to wait long. The service was great. They went above & beyond cleaning a table for us. Mai's Deli is a great find in Appleton, WI for decent southeast Asian food. They are famous for their stuffed chicken wing, which they de-bone and stuff the chicken wing with noodles and veggies. On the side it comes with sweet chili sauce and their homemade chili sauce with freshly cut Thai chili peppers, cilantro, and fish sauce. The moment I took my first bite into my stuffed chicken wing, I could see why they sell a lot of them! I also ordered drunken noodles with fried tofu. We are still looking for our go to viet joint in the area. This is the top runner so far. Pho broth is simple, sometimes may be too simple, but not overly sweet or salty which is classic. Prices are a bit high. The combo pho does come with shrimp so if you aren't expecting it, could ruin your idea of a bowl fairly quick. Also tried the stuff wings, delicious and cool how they can take out the bone like that. Finally also tried the wide noodles. This dish was very sweet. Not a big fan. Service is quick and pleasant. Was hungry for Asian but really haven't been searching for a new eat in or take out for a couple of years so I did a Yelp search and found Mai's this last weekend. I read several reviews about portions and price and flavors so i checked out their menu. Prices seemed really good as well so placed an order for their Drunken Noodles with pork, Veggie spring rolls and egg rolls and seafood stir fry. Well the Yelp prices were from pre covid days so way off to start. Not really surprised with that, as so much in pricing has changed, i wanted great flavor most of all- there I was disappointed: the spring rolls and egg rolls were just tasteless, really. The drunken noodles were ok but just seemed batch made and not hot and not fresh tasting. That left the stir fry and although a bit spicy, it was the only real winner. The restaurant was cute, comfortable looking although I just did take out, I'd go back to try their Pho as i saw a bowl on a table and it looked goood! But really, they need to take a lesson from Mylee's egg rolls or just stop selling theirs. read more
