Food was at unsafe temperatures. Lacked normal flavor I'm used to from other Chinese restaurants and the chicken was mostly coating and no chicken. General T chicken was something of a recipe I've never had before but was really gross and again like everything else...cold. Had lettuce for sald and bitter huge cucumbers. Nothing else. ? ? The cinnamon swirl ice cream on fried plantains with sugar donuts might be reason enough to fall in love with this buffet. The clean environment and relaxing music though is beyond reproach. Went there for a lunch on Wednesday. Arrived there at 2:25 pm. They charged us the dinner price, while the food was still lunch menu. We asked what time dinner starts. They said 'soon'. Today me and my family went and we spent over 100 and something dollars for 9 people is not worth the price because first of all the pepsi tasted like sparkling water and it was watery and the food was ok some were cold like for example the fries and yellow rice were cold and hard and the ice cream had mold and my uncle said the cucumber tasted like mop water and like it's been there for days . Used to be a really decent buffet. Not so much anymore. Over $16 with tax for the buffet and $4 for a drink now. They are more expensive than any other Chinese buffet in town. Their food has really gone down hill. Almost everything they put out is chicken now, and the last couple times I was here the food was horrible. Nothing appeared to be fresh; seemed more like they were serving reheated leftovers. The sushi selection is almost nonexistent now, and they never have their grill up and running anymore. They serve less food and less variety than they did when they first opened yet their prices have about doubled. And the staff are incredibly rude and unfriendly. Atmosphere: Private parking lot off of Calumet. Inside has been rennovated since the last business was here. The inside is actually really nice. New floor and tables. The buffet layout is easy to maneuver. They have 3 hot buffet lines and 2 cold. Service: Quick to clear your plate. You have to get your drink vs. other buffets where they bring it to you. Make sure you remember to leave a tip people....I noticed quite a few people not tipping the bussers. They have to make a living and keep your table uncluttered from the buffet madness. Food: I feel like some of there items are over cooked on the hot buffet lines (maybe the heat lamps are too hot?). They have great crab Rangoon's here compared to other chines buffets I've been to. A lot of filling but not a lot of crab or scallion flavor. I feel like their hot and sour soup has no kick. They have potstickers and dim sum here which have been pretty good both times. I wish they would make 3 rolls of sushi (maki) at a time, and wait until they are gone. Or wait 20 min., throw them away and make new ones to keep the rolls fresh. I tried a piece and the rice was congealed and just fell apart from the roll because it had been sitting for quite a while. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE SIGNING!! This used to be our family's go-to place until today. The guy at the counter pulled a fast one on me and I didn't notice until the charge came through. I took my 9 year old and 1 year old for lunch at 11:30am and was charged for 3 ADULT DINNERS. When I signed the receipt he covered the charges and I didn't think anything of it. One Star - As a buffet, you expect the atmosphere to be calm and the dishes placed strategically to allow everyone to pick their piece of dish. Emperor buffet was bang on this aspect. The dishes are well separated as 4 different counters for food, one counter for Sushi, ome for grill and one for the soup. This allowed lot of space in between which allowed us to sample our dishes easily without bumping into someone :) Second star - The variety was amazing. It must have had 40+ delicacies to taste and I am not even counting the grill or sushi samples. Mongolian beef, Pork roll, Craw fish , fried shrimps and the best of all were the dumplings. Tso chicken, Noodles, Rice, onion rings, crab rangoon , salt and pepper shrimp etc were also adorning the counters. You can view the pictures for more display. Third star - The service was excellent. The servers were prompt in clearing our plates and were always available. Good service especially on a Sunday afternoon. Not so good - How can it achieve the other two stars : One star - COLD!! We reached at 11.15am .The food though with so many varieties was cold. The crab Rangoon had a great filling but it had been kept out for a long time. Similarly, other dishes like Salmon (Personal Favorite) had lost its taste as it was cold. If the food had been hot or even warm, I would have been happier. One Star - Generally in a buffet, either the server asks what you would like to drink or they would get you a complimentary drink. This is not the case here. You need to get it yourself from the machine. The site says $ 9.95 for lunch but we were charged $13 per person as it was Sunday. A tad over I felt especially as the dessert lacked flavour. Wished to see some oriental dessert. Overall, a good place in Fox Valley to try for buffet but they should definitely look into keeping the food warm :) A cold winter afternoon demands that, I guess. read more

This was our first visit, after hearing recommendations. Not sure if it was the time of day that we went, but there wasn't much of a selection. What was available was definitely NOT fresh. After taking the first bite on our plates of what passed for appetizing, my husband and I got up and left our full plates there, what a waste. By far one of the best Chinese restaurants in Appleton. I would say Fox City but I haven't tried them all. The food may sometimes come off older because it's been sitting but I'm guessing that's due to the amount of people not eating in during the pandemic. I don't blame them. The price to eat is by far cheap for what you get. Service is meh, nothing exceptional nor bad. They don't charge extra for soft drinks. Sushi is actually pretty good for chinese buffet. Grill is currently closed, again assuming bc of the pandemic. Buffet food options are pretty standard but again, you definitely are paying very little for great tasting food. I ate there 4 times and i finally got around to reviewing. :) lets be real, its a sad state for Chinese buffets here in Appleton, with health violations, closures and complacency , I had to stop eating at 2 of the ones that still are open. So... If you love the color brown, the decor will probably turn you on. My sis was complaining about price but i found it reasonable. One thing thing that has me sold and a return customer is that, everytime i returned, they had some different dishes. I hate how some buffets serve the same dishes over and over for years on end. I decided to bike there because I'm 14 and don't have a drivers license yet. We went in and there were very friendly staff. I sat down and decided to go get my food. There were a MILLION options! For my first plate I decided to get the Tso's Chicken, Honey Chicken, Potstickers, and white rice. The Tso's chicken was too crunchy for me to like. The honey chicken was DELICIOUS. Opening week was great and has slowly slipped to a 3 star rating ever since. Enjoy the sushi for a buffet but the rest of the hot food was ok at best. Rangoons were likely the best part. Rest of the protein offerings were limited and average for a buffet. Dining area much better than previous owners and feels much cleaner overall. Price is expensive compare to other local establishments. @$13 a person other local establishments provide more options and crab legs. Will likely choose other options when the wife needs a buffet fix in the future solely due to price. $11 seems fair for the basic buffet. read more

Brought my wife and kids to try out the new buffet. It was quite busy when we there. Buffet has your usual selection of food, a hibachi grill, and sushi. The pros - very clean, staff is attentive, and buffet is being stocked with fresh food as it gets low. The cons - I found the food to be a little bland. I didn't try the hibachi grill and didn't see anyone else get anything from it while we were there. The sushi selection is very minuscule and looked like it had been sitting out for awhile. This is my absolute favorite Chinese food joint in the fox cities! We order delivery from Food Dudes and the food is always in huge servings, piping hot, with lots of extra sauce and fortune cookies. Price is reasonable. Shrimp stir fry was good however most seafood dishes have a glaze of honey. Not sure why that is but unless you like a tint of sweet on your fried shrimp- this is the place. Price for 2 people was just under $30.00 with a drink. Fresh sushi was decent and the grilled steak I tried was too tough to chew. Did not try more steak on this visit. Worse dinner ever,,the general Taos chickened was awful,,the chili chicken was cut on small pieces and had some kind of chunk pits in it and was unable to eat,,fried dumplings where over cooked,the craw dad's where way to small, tried using the general toes sauce on white rice and it totally sucked,the foundation soda was flat,the BBQ ribs where a joke,had to go eat the pudding to get the nasty ass taste out of my mouth,,the have lost me forever as a customer..it was like they where stretching the food and had no regards to flavor,,will be looking to find the Hong Kong buffet in neenah,seems I could give this a star,but reality is a half star at best read more

Moved up to the area and was looking for a good Chinese buffet. This one looked promising. Usually better at checking reviews, but saw the star rating and it seemed comparable to the other places. We went at 5:30 figuring food would be fresher at that time. Wrong! Wasn't hot, sushi rolls were dry, crab Rangoon was soggy and overall just didn't look or taste good. Staff was extremely unfriendly. Felt that we should be apologizing for being there. Went to this restaurant today for lunch with my Daughter And Granddaughter. I have never been here but my Granddaughter has been. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean this restaurant was. Now let's talk about the buffet. Oh -My -God!!!!! The choices are endless. I do not eat meat but I found Plenty of options that did not have meat. Overall, I think this is a solid Chines buffet, that could be a lot better. You pay up front and then are seated, which is a nice change from other local Chinese buffets. Every buffet purchase comes with a drink that you fill up yourself. There is a huge seating area and the restaurant is clean. In addition to the normal buffet, a small grill station, as well as a sushi station, are offered. Servers made specific sushi rolls for me when I made a request, which I appreciated. The quality of food is generally a bit better than other local buffets. The big issue I have with this buffet is that an absurd amount of the selection is taken up by desert and American food. While the selection of food looks as large as many other buffets at first glance, there is actually less Chinese food than at most others. There is also a lack of vegetable dishes for those who don't eat meat, which takes away a lot of the appeal of a buffet.
