Gino Sorbillo is a famous Napoletana pizza chain from Naples, Italy. We were told by locals that this Naples-based restaurant is the most popular pizza across the country. [DRINKS] +Coca-Cola glass bottle for €3,70 +San Pellegrino sparkling water for €2,70 [PIZZA] +Calabrese Pizza for €11,20 - 4/5 Overall, Gino Sorbillo has good pizza. The crust was deliciously chewy, but our particular pie was quite thin and soupy in the middle. I would recommend checking them out to see what the locals consider as their most "popular" pizza. Milan is better known for their risotto, but if you want to eat pizza, there are multiple Gino Sorbillo restaurants around the city!

Only part of the huge crowd out front at 9 pm. We waited nearly an hour to get a table for two!

This was one of the most highly recommended pizza joints in all of Milan so we hopped an expensive Uber, arrived to a big crowd out front, put our name on the list with the surly hostess (after we figured out the system), and waited. And waited. Aaaaand waited. After nearly an hour of standing around outside, our name was called. You'd think after that much of a to-do to get inside that this must be THE best place to have pizza. It's not. The menu is huge with lots of options. This isn't the norm in most pizzerias in Italy, as usually most just have a couple of pies. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, but I still opted for the classic margherita. I've never really had a truly terrible pizza, and certainly not in Italy, but this wasn't among the best pizza I've ever had. It was fresh and delicious, yes, but not one that will be memorable for years to come. The tomato sauce was tangy and the cheese chewy. The flavors melded perfectly. The crust was fluffy and good but adding generous amounts of olive oil to it greatly improved my dining experience. The pizza was huge and the edges literally hung off the sides of my plate but I was super hungry and devoured the entire thing with ease. This restaurant is a little on the expensive side too, especially if you want to drink water or soda. Just get beer or wine instead. The service was efficient, our food was cooked fresh and fast, and we weren't rushed out the door. Watch out for Milan's obnoxious rose sellers when you leave. They are super aggressive and a real nuisance. Just yell loudly and they'll give up. We had one straight up chase us down the promenade for blocks!

Outstanding pizza I have a brand new appreciation for wimpy pizza slices. Neapolitan, a style I'm not really familiar with back home in the US, is wonderful, at least at Gino Sorbillo. We arrived at a moment when they were not busy and started looking over the menu. All in Italian, no English translation, so we tried to get an idea what the large list of pizza offerings included. At the same time we are seeing these huge pizzas being picked up, so large they always overlapped the large plates they were placed on. We decided one was plenty for the two of us, and settled on a pizza that included pesto. Our server got us started and the pizza was ready in a reasonable amount of time. It was outstanding. It was also a little messy for us, we are spoiled having our pizzas sliced for us in the US, that and the thin weak bottom crust had our tomatoes sliding off. We also realized we could each eat one of these large pizzas, and by looking around saw the people at other tables were all ordering individual pizzas. Don't be intimidated by the circumference of the pie, it goes down easily and not as filling as you might expect. The place got busy, they opened up the upstairs, and our server was nowhere to be seen. We stayed much too long waiting to flag him down to get our bill until another server saw us sitting there holding a credit card. He got us up and to the register in the front so we could pay. I'm still not sure what we were supposed to do, but we managed to pay and head out to enjoy more of Milan. Gino Sorbillo was a great find and will be one of the high points of our visit to Milan.

Very good Napolitan pizza restaurant. The dough is awesome and toppings are also of good quality. I had a "Pizza dell'Alleanza dei Presidi Slow Food" (EUR 11.80) which I really enjoyed. We had a 1/2kg Mozzarella that we shared in four people (although it is suggested to be shared in two people on the menu) which was really good and huge, a way to big entrée for two people if you plan to eat a pizza afterwards. Desserts are also good but a little pricey. I had a Babá from Pastisseria Capparelli from Napoli which was great.

I have heard the hype but maybe its just that hype. Honestly, I was disappointed. I have had great pizza and I have had terrible pizza. This one was neither. It was unmemorable and disappointing. The pizza's flavor was good. The sauce and outer crust were amazing. The inside of the pie was absolutely just like a pile of wet dough. It was cooked through put you couldn't pick it up by had or by fork and knife. The pizza was big but it was a mess. My pictures were pre trying to eat. The pizza's on the menu were basically the same except with a few add ons to each of the different varieties of pies. The pesto had basically no flavor and honestly so many better pizza places in Milan. JUST HYPE!

Fantastic & Fresh pizza. Mozzarella bufala was to die for! We got here early, right at about 7:15 and still had to wait a few minutes, the wait was about 30 mins by the time we were leaving. It is an extremely popular spot and once you taste the pizza you know why!

Wow wow wow! Loved this place! I am debating between which took my heart more - the pizza or the stuffed zucchini blossoms!! Keep in mind the stuffed zucchini blossoms were an impulse order and may have easily been the best food item we had the whole trip!! This place was recommended by a local store employee and when we went it is busy and with mostly locals having their Saturday night meals!!! It is two floors and they turn over the tables very quickly so be ready to order. We ordered a bottle of the house white wine, the buffalo pizza, the insalata, and the zucchini blossoms. The salad (insalata) was gigantic!!! Definitely enough for 2-3 people. Thank goodness we split the pizza! Although, most locals were eating a whole pizza on their own (this was fun to watch bc the pizzas were so large!!!). Great local place in a touristy area! Good luck finding it!

    Salami pizza!

Wow!!!! Thank goodness a local suggested this place. It was so much fun, so darn good, great portions and the perfect house wine for a great price. My friend and I got there at the opening, which was a great decision because there was a line after 10 mins of the place being opened. The service was quick, you can tell this was a routine for them. Fascinated over the choices as well.

    Fresh pesto, excellent!

3.5/5 for me We popped in here during the lunchtime rush around 2pm and were forced to wait outside for about 15/20 mins. A staple in Napoli, these brothers opened up a secondary location in Milano but be sure to wait close to the door as if you aren't there when they call your name, you get skipped quickly. The pizzas here are large and good for sharing if need be. They tend to hang over the serving tray, so come prepared to eat. We ordered the pesto, margherita, salame and provola and sweet tomatoes, everything which was good. The only issue with the pizzas was that with the fresh ingredients, the dough became soggy quickly as well as the crust not being as charred as I would have hoped, but otherwise the flavors were all excellent. After it was all said and done, the prices were fair, service was ok and atmosphere was casual. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for a quick pizza, this is a great spot to check out. Buon appetito.

    salame irpino pizza
    Andrew H.

I had the Salame Irpino and it was great. The edges of the salame curled up a little and were slightly burnt on the edges. I also had the baba al rhum and it was good but kind of overpriced. I guess its never a good idea to compare Milan and Naples prices, although the pizzas are reasonable here. I arrived 10 minutes before they opened for lunch and they started letting people in 5 minutes after they opened.

Great pizza in Milan. Just as good as the one in Naples! They have a short selection of pizzas, but you should stick to the classic Margherita!

Wood oven and open kitchen formay.

When in Italy I kind of expect quality food. Was not disappointed. Fast, friendly, efficient service. Got us in and out for more sight seeing. Dependable product. Well worth a visit.

Also, there was a bit of a weight when we got there, but it actually grew to almost a dozen people. They see people quickly so the turnover is pretty fast and you don't wait long. Since I was concerned about limited menu, those fears were allayed when the Waiter takes your order - he lets you know about the four or five other ones that are not on the menu that are all sounding great So we picked 'chef special' (they pick for you) and a white pizza. The service was pretty quick, and the pizza comes out right away Obviously with such high turnover, they have figured out the formula for delicious pizza. They nailed the crust as well as all the ingredients. Really delicious. The toilet facilities definitely need a lot of help. That was my only real comment about the atmosphere. Not sure why our other party got Salmon at an Italian restaurant in Italy but to each his own. If you want a glass of wine you only have two choices, white wine and red wine. No other available. This is probably because the restaurant doesn't carry large inventories of wine due to their small size and cost. Overall no way is this above an average restaurant. It's just okay.
