The service here was really fast and efficient and people were really friendly. They speak English and they deal with a high influx of tourists so it's kind of in and out. They only have one bathroom in the whole restaurant so keep that in mind lol. The food itself wasn't super spectacular, we got the truffle ravioli and it was OK. The charcuterie and cheese wasn't anything special either, you can kind of go to the supermarket and just procure the same things. I was craving good lasagna, and I think the lasagna here is about as good as it will get in Italy. They don't use as much meat or tomato sauce as Americans do, but this was able to hold me over until I got home. Tripletta di tortellini €15 ($16.50 USD) - The tortellinis here were filled with 3 different types of vegetables and were perfectly prepared. Tiramisu €6.50 ($7 USD) - This tiramisu was well exectued and reasonably priced. Doppietta del goloso €6.50 ($7.50) - this consisted of sliced chocolate salami (chocolate mouse made with biscuits), cake and cream. It was unique and a great way to end the evening. It very much looks like a hole in the wall type of place. We stepped in not expecting much. But the waiter provided us we amazing service. First the drinks were very powerful - each one packed a punch and were extremely reasonable. The different spritz are their specialty. The ravioli was astoundingly good. The pasta was paper thin allowing you to taste the contents better. The grilled chicken had little seasoning and paired well with the grilled tomatoes. A very popular dinner spot near Duomo in the Centro Storico district that lives up to the hype. Although it wasn't the best meal that I had in Milan, it certainly was memorable. The location of the restaurant makes this place ideal since it's so close to Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Expect to wait for a table here. There are two dining areas; one up front and another area in the back of the restaurant on the lower floor. The hostess took me to the back dining area and I was shocked. From the entrance, you would never guess that there was more dining space. Not so common in Italy, so it was such a nice surprise. It's really a charming spot with a cozy layout. Seems to be particularly popular with larger parties. Service was actually good and attentive. I assume they get a lot of Americans dining here because the service here was similar to what I would expect back home. Their food menu and wine list is grand. I ordered the Polenta Fritta to start, Tripletta di Tortelli, and paired it with a beautiful Italian Pinot Blanc. When I say this entire meal was just mouthwatering... wowza! Get the polenta!!! Your meal will come with bread and a garlicky butter dip which is so tasty, but you have to try their polenta. It's light and crispy. Not like the smooth and creamy polenta that I'm used to, but damn it is yummy. The raviolis (Tortelli) were sensational. The ravioli dish that I had consisted of three different raviolis: herb & butter, pumpkin & butter, and truffle butter. All were delicious but the pumpkin butter and truffle butter were like crack! So friggin' flavorful and melted in my mouth. And the fresh cheese on top was like the icing on the cake. The Pinot Blanc was fantastic and paired perfectly with my meal. It was a recommendation from my server and she was spot on with it. I was definitely stuffed after my meal. This was our fourth time eating at this little place. As good as always. In the $2EUR cover per person you get lots of bread and two dipping sauces. As we knew we wouldn't be eating here again this trip we ordered two more. We got the Parmesan, the onion, the artichoke and the mixed veggie. Bread is typical of that served in Italy. We selected the Burrata with Stracciatelle. We dressed the burrata with olive oil(by mistake) and then asked for the balsamic....all good. The creaminess of the burrata center was divine. We then had the eggplant parmigiana and it arrived piping hot and we dove into it. Perfect amount of eggplant to cheese to sauce. And one of the lightest sauces ever. Oh my, these little dishes of food were great. We did not leave a bite of food except for the bread... it was just filler! This is by no means fine dining. You walk into this narrow little place with prosciutto parma hanging and greeted by the staff. All are welcomed. Seems to be loved by the locals. And by Milan food costs it is very reasonable. I'm sad to give this place three stars because the food was pretty good but unfortunately there were a few shortcomings. We ate here on our last night in Milan because gosh darn it I'm a slut for polenta and there are few better places to eat it than in Milan. It is surprising how difficult polenta is to find on menus in the center of town but I was pleased to see it on the menu here and thus this place won our business. There's nothing fancy about this place, it's a down to earth kind of joint. We were seated right by the stairs which wasn't really an ideal location. I was disappointed that we weren't brought downstairs for a more comfortable space. Our waiter wasn't exactly warm and welcoming but I could tell he was running all over the place and maybe that was why. The menu has a nice variety of Italian classics and it was tough to narrow down. You KNOW we came here for the polenta so we both ordered a plate of that. There are two sections where polenta is on the menu, under "Sfizi" where it is described as "polenta fritta" with many options including gorgonzola e pancetta, just gorgonzola, and e mariola. There is a whole other section titled "polenta" which has even more options like "e funghi" "e stracchino", "polenta del casaro con gorgonzola", and many others. I ordered the polenta with gorgonzola and GF ordered the polenta with mushrooms. Unfortunately, the waiter did not clarify what we were looking for and only served me the polenta fritta with gorgonzola instead of the plate of polenta which is not what I wanted. It was absolutely delicious, the outside of the polenta was crispy and it paired deliciously with the tiniest spoonful of gorgonzola on the top but it just wasn't what I ordered. We also ordered a cheese plate, the tripletta del casaro with parmigiano, caciotta, and gorgonzola. The plate was fucking adorable and also came with the thickest balsamic I've ever seen, a jam, and a few walnuts. There was no bread to be had which was disappointing but perhaps we could have asked for it as other tables received bread. I've never had caciotta before and that shit is CRACK. After the polenta mix up I wasn't even sure if GF was going to get hers so I ordered the bruschetta pesto e pomodorini and I'm so glad I did because it was spectacular. The bread was nicely toasted with a creamy and scrumptious pesto that contrasted perfectly with the tart cherry tomatoes. Chef's kiss. For my entree, I ordered the tagliatelle with pesto however I was informed later that they did not have the tagliatelle but instead offered gnocchi which, obviously, I would always accept. The gnocchi were baby pillows of heaven and the pesto, similar to on the bruschetta, was divine. GF's polenta with mushrooms came out but by that time she was too full and couldn't eat much of it. I am not a mushroom bitch so I only tried the polenta part which was very bland and had no flavor whatsoever. I thought maybe the mushrooms provided the flavor but GF tells me the whole dish was bland. For our drinks, we both started with an aperol spritz which was not served in the typical glass but in a rocks glass which, as you can imagine, greatly limits the volume that can be provided. After we finished this in short order, we literally had to flag our server down to order another drink because he certainly did not check in on us in any way whatsoever after we placed our initial order. We both ordered a glass of prosecco which never came. He apologized when I went to pay the bill which was a nice touch because his demeanor made us feel like we were nothing more than an annoyance. For the most part, the food was delicious but the meal definitely could have been much better. read more

Ok! If you're staying close to the airport in Milan (MXP), I think this is a good option. You will need a ride there unless you are a local or live close. As a note ride shares didn't seem to like short trips and tend to drop riders so plan accordingly. You may want to enlist your hotel for help. In short: pasta was great! Coming to the restaurant there were 4-5 tables sitting in SILENCE no music it was awkward and the server looked like he HATED his job. He did not smile once and was very impatient.
