Still a good value for lunch and service was stellar. Had a lunch sushi combo. They had a number of new employees but service and food didn't disappoint. Good fast lunch.

I was there yesterday for lunch and ordered the Bulgogi bento box, it was good, again the only thing I have to say and I said it again in past is that the bulgogi is way too soupy! It takes away the real taste of the dish. Other than that, the other items are good, service is fast. The ambience is great.

Ginza was my first Korean BBQ experience and it was souch fun! A friend and I went for dinner so the dim lighting and twinkle lights gave the place a relaxing vibe for the evening. It wasn't super crowded but there were several groups of friends and family around who looked like regulars, so we were anticipating a good meal. The setup was neat, with the bbq grill in the center of the table. Our server brought over the proteins, we chose steak & chicken, and some toppings to add. We also tried some martinis and egg roll appetizers. The cooking process was fun, but quick! Pay attention to not burn your food. Everything had a subtle, but tasty seasoning and the veggie toppings were nice and crisp. Overall this was a really nice, interactive experience. The staff was small but they were working really hard to serve everyone and keep things flowing smoothly. Looking forward to my next visit.

The service was good. Our server, I think her name was Tiara, was great. The food had good flavor but the portions were very small. We ordered the bulgogi and chicken bulgogi for 2 and it was barely enough for 1. The beef was sliced paper thin. The pieces were so small that they were falling through the slits in the grill. Would I try again, maybe if I was in the area.

RESTAURANT THE SPOT Ginza Birmingham 5291 Valleydale Rd Suite 101, Birmingham, AL 35242 Order L.A. Gal-Bi & Chicken Bul-Go-Go, and shrimp (Marinated beef short ribs, shrimp, and chicken) Blue Sky Martini Calamari War Eagle Roll (Tempura shrimp and cream cheese roll w/ torched salmon and avocado on top) Hey y'all i tried a restaurant on 280 last week and it was an interesting experience. My friends and I sat on the BBQ side which means you get to cook the food yourself I started the night with a Blue Sky Martini. It had an interesting taste but it's not something I'd have to have again. I feel as if it had a little too much curaçao in it. The calamari was good. Nothing to brag about but it was nice to have as an appetizer. The War Eagle Sushi Roll was good even though the name itself is IYKYK! The eel sauce is what made it really pop. The L.A. Gal-Bi was good. The marinade did it for me! The chicken bul-go-go was good. Reminded me of hibachi chicken and the shrimp did as well. This experience was fun and I would definitely recommend it if you haven't tried it before. The waiter turns the grill on for you at the table and once it's hot enough you can begin cooking your food. The more meat you get, the more expensive it gets so keep that in mind. Arrived around 11 am and were able to be seated immediately. All the food was full of flavor and seasoned well. The meat is easy to cook on the grill top. It does not take too long to cook since it is thinly sliced. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The experience is a lot of fun and would definitely recommend if you want to try something new!

Great food and very nice staff !! Service was a bit slow but our server was very apologetic. We had the Korean barbecue combo for two and we left feeling not too stuffed but satisfied. I highly recommend the spicy bulgogi and be sure to order Soju to have the full experience.

Servers added a 36% tip for themselves.
    J. L.

A little short staffed, but the wait was acceptable for a party of 8. What was not acceptable was the staff adding themselves a 36% tip on our ticket at the end of the night for such poor service. We will not be back.

    Trying lunch!

High ceilings and exposed brick are a few of the ways to my heart. If you've seen a post about this place, you've probably seen a picture of the crackly round, artistic dish and wondered what it was. There are dumplings on the underside of it and you break each one off of the crackly part to enjoy. We did enjoy these but I would've loved a soy sauce to dip them in. They came with chili crunch, peanuts, and green onions but I wanted an actual sauce. They were very standard tasting dumplings and there was nothing extraordinary about them unfortunately. As always, we'd looked at the menu beforehand and decided what we wanted. It does state on their website that their menus can change due to freshness and availability. But we'd both decided on an app and entree we wanted only to get there and have none of them on the menu. I do appreciate a rotating menu to accommodate local items, but I would also love for those to be updated on a regular basis. So after rerouting, we decided on the chicken skewers as another app with the dumplings. These were chargrilled, flavorful, and had a nice crust on them. I got shrimp fried rice and Julia got spicy beef noodles. It was fine but I wish the shrimp wouldn't have been cut up. It felt like they chopped them up in order to not put as many in the dish. At $25 for this, I'd like whole shrimp please. There were a few pieces of raw spinach with pepper on the top. I would've loved a sauce of some kind. I would've preferred shrimp hibachi with fried rice from a Japanese place that included vegetables and sauces. This was not *bad* there was just SO much room for improvement. We both agreed that nothing was awful, but for these prices and the hype, we expected more. Our waitress was super friendly. Bonus points because they had match boxes at the host stand! There was a paid parking lot diagonal from the restaurant, so we had to walk through an intersection to get there. There are some spots up front if you can snag one. Overall, we enjoyed our time here but won't be sprinting back.

And of course they had me at poke bowls. It's one of my top 5 things to eat, honestly. But I ordered a Buddha bowl because it's almost the same thing and I felt a little lazy to DIY (not to mention, the Buddha bowl looked tantalizing!) They have other veg options, but I set my sights on that bowl as soon as the friendly counter guy suggested it. It's overloaded with goodness--avocado, deliciously marinated tofu, edamame (yes, it's a protein-rich bowl), tomatoes, shredded carrots, diced cucumbers, greens and more. You're literally devouring the rainbow here, friends. For drinks, they have a modest but decent selection of beer, wine (a decent bubbly in a can!) and sake in addition to soft drinks. The place is so beautiful (and spotlessly clean) with plants dangling from the ceiling and beautiful murals throughout. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd be here all the time.

My drink order was taken (water) and my server, who answered all of my questions, was very patient and pleasant. For my appetizer, I ordered the spring rolls. They were freshly made and came out hot and crispy. I enjoyed them and would order them again. Now the main course. I opted for the spicy Himalayan chicken, medium heat. I love spicy food, and I thought I was doing the right thing by ordering the medium level. However, it was very spicy! I did notice however, that the longer it sat, the level evened out some. Still, on my next visit, I will try the mild level to compare. The dish was delicious and very flavorful. The white rice added just the right amount of coolness to the chicken and veggies. Upon leaving, I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken in mild. I'm not sure if it's because it's a totally different flavor profile, but the mild has very little spicy. I just can't believe it's that much difference between the mild and medium levels. The drunken noodles were just okay, in my opinion. There was not a lot of juice, spice not flavor in this dish. On my next visit, I will stick with the Himalayan chicken and order it in mild just to test out my theory. The workers were very friendly and came by to check on me and made small talk with all of their customers, including me. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to returning again
