I never knew this place existed until I found is on my maps when I was looking for somewhere to eat in Pell city, AL. This place is amazing. There is a beautiful painted mural on the wall and the pictures on the wall are stunning. The price was very good with is being a little over $15 for my meal. I will come back again. We have eaten here since they opened. Usually takeout, but always good. Tonight, not so much. The sushi was pretty good, but everything else was subpar. We sent the calamari back because it was so tough and rubbery you couldn't bite through it. The mid-rare hibachi steak my daughter and I ordered was so overcooked, it was hard to chew and had zero flavor. Never in my life have I left steak uneaten, but tonight, I did. Tempura vegetables were mushy and tasteless. Basically, we paid $120 for a meal we couldn't eat. I had to cook when we got home. Other than sushi, we won't be making this mistake again. The food is VERY fresh and delicious, surprising for being so inland and in a small town, the service leaves a lot to desire. it's also very sloooowww, which is to be expected with Asian food, but not the salads and drinks--c'mon! I'll go again but order take out. Unless you just want out of the house I suggest the same. I've previously ordered the scallop sashimi, avocado salad, dragon roll, roll tide roll, and the steak hibachi and all were scrumptious. Service was good but food was mediocre to poor and little pricey - I got bento box and dumplings were cold and rice was warm with little to no flavor - wife ordered the sweet and sour chicken - rice same as my order and chicken pieces were miniature with ton of breading - I was hopeful based on reviews but either the restaurant has changed or the previous individuals doing reviews didn't know any better. We both had coke and Diet Coke and they both were flat - diet even worse that regular coke $45 Dinner that was only worth $20 at best - won't be back. read more

A solid standard Chinese restaurant. Ordered takeout and was very pleased with the amount of food I was given. I had a nice hefty portion left for dinner the next day, yay leftovers! I had the sesame chicken with an order of sushi (can't remember which). Both were very appetizing. The guy at the counter (maybe a teenager) taking with orders was more interested in the game on his phone than us. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because my dinner date got his drink 20 minutes before I finally asked about mine and they brought it out. I understand covid and doing best they can so I am Not made it toke a few minutes to seat a party of 3. We was seated , and waited 10 minutes for someone to take drink order she did brought drinks about 10 minutes later another person came to take order we didn't have menus got menus and shortly toke order. Got out soup and salad, then we waited drinks empty and we waited finally some refilled our drinks no food. Well 2 or the 3 plates came out figured it it was soon follow these was 30 minutes wait already well the two who got food couldn't wait food was getting cold the ate their food veggie was rare and some was cold in center. We ate what we could still no 3 plate. The wait staff picked up the two plates that was done about the same time the 3rd plate came out. They said rice was dry, veggie cold and gave up trying to eat it. After 1 and 1/2 hours there they was no discount for the very late food. Used to be our favorite spot in town now it our least favorite. read more

Met with family there this past week, the place was dirty, food was poor and the whole place had a identity crisis. Formerly a Italian restaurant it has decor from the 70's mixed with former owners. Food was really not good, we both had it coming up afterwards and seated in the dining area I could only wonder what the prep area looked like. It showed of us make a buck without catering to people for a dining experience. One and done, you're better off at Burger King lol. read more

The food is pretty good most of the time but is a little pricey on some items. If you carry out, you better check your bag for everything before you leave and if you order delivery...good luck. Pretty often whenever we've ordered delivery, either something is missing (soup, salad, sauce) or something has spilled. Last time we ordered delivery, the lids from two separate containers of soup had come off and spilled at the bottom of the bag. This could have been an issue with the delivery person, but it didn't look as though the soup was packed very well in the bag by whoever was preparing the to-go orders. read more

My family and I were in the area and saw good Yelp reviews so we decided to stop by. There were five of us total. We each had a different dish ranging from sushi to udon to fried rice. We had the worst experience today. Walked in today and something didn't smell quite right. Ordered drink and one of my coworkers said the water tasted funny and the other coworker that ordered tea said it was terrible as well. Brought out the soups and they all tasted bad as well. Then they brought out the food and the chicken tasted bad. We only had one bite each and decided it wasn't a good idea to eat the meals. My coworker went to talk to the manager and she stated that she had had recent complaints and wanted to know all of our opinions how everything tasted. She gave us 50% off the check but it still came to $33 for 3 lunch items drinks and one appetizer. I would highly recommend that you let them fix whatever issue they are having before dining there. read more

You wouldn't think it from the outside but this place is really good. The sushi is not authentic Japanese but is better than expected. The udon is especially delicious, just wish it had more noodles. The service was acceptable. The server was attentive and made sure we were happy. Overall a good place to frequent. read more

We haven't tried a bunch of dishes there but of the 4 we ordered this week, everyone was pretty happy. The hot and sour soup was pretty good. Californian roll and other (forgot name) was real good. Chicken Fried Rice was on point, I actually like the sushi grade rice they use instead of the jasmine rice. The Hibachi Steak was tasty but the yum yum sauce could be sweeter but it was good as well. All in all, with the lock down and extra time, try something new. We'll be back. read more

We drove 35 minutes one way to eat here.... Highly disappointed that we spent $120 on this food.... My husband ordered the 'filet mignon' hibachi over the regular cheaper priced 'steak' hibachi... his filet was terrible, despite ordering it medium, it was so rubbery, chewy, tough, and fatty... there is absolutely NO way this was a filet mignon quality cut of meat! The chicken hibachi was NOT much better.... Very chewy chicken... Fried rice was decent, but lacked flavor, however, at least the fried rice was edible unlike the steak, chicken or any of the sushi rolls!!! We ordered several sushi rolls, they were horrible.... And we eat sushi often... I promise that hands down, Publix 'grocery store' sushi is far superior to this place.... Next time, we will just pick up Publix sushi or wait until we feel like making the drive down HWY 280 or Downtown B'ham to get legit sushi. We will mark this place off our list for good. read more

We were visiting our friends, Matthew & D, at their lake house on Sunday night and they wanted sushi. I will tell you, I certainly wasn't expecting much from a sushi bar in the little town of Pell City, Alabama, but WOW was I mistaken. Claude & I ordered the Sushi for Two. We got our choice of soups (hot sour, egg drop, wanton, etc) and also a carrot ginger dressed salad, both just delicious. The plate of sushi arrived, it was HUGE and what a wonderful assortment! We got 3 specialty rolls and another 18 negiri sushi - tuna, yellowtail, escolar, eel (I ate all those), salmon, smoked salmon, shrimp, crab and more, all generously sized pieces and fresh as ever. The assortment was wonderful and the presentation was stunning, literally, I just stared at it for a few minutes before digging in. It was as good as any sushi bar I've been to in Florida, for sure, and we have so many. There are two dining rooms, the one after entering the front door plays country music, the room in the back, just as large, played a more Asian vibe and that's were we were seated, very eclectic and fun decor. We loved it. Tony our waiter was very attentive and a gracious host. Price was very reasonable. We are going back again, that's for sure. read more

This is the only restaurant I know of even remotely close to try to compare to some of the other hibachi japaneese type places we like to frequent. The food we have gotten from here is always good. My husband especially likes the sushi that hasn't been sitting in a buffet all day. So I know, sushi in Pell City.......we gave this a try and man were we surprised. It was awesome. Started with shrimp tempura and pepper tuna. GREAT. I had Chicken hibachi and Garrett had Sesame chicken and Crystal had Super-crunch that was huge. Worth every bit of the 5 stars I gave them. Oh and they even gave us comp cheese cake because our server felt bad because the roll came out a little later then our main dish but by then we were all full and have two large to-go boxes to enjoy later. Service at lunch lacked. I purchased calif. rolls last week, but requested crunchy topping and eel sauce, which I got neither. Today I ordered crunchy rolls, and they were inedible. The pink substitute for nori is unappetizing to look at, with the taste about the same. Ingredients were fresh, however, this one attribute will not entice me to return to this restaurant again. This restaurant was much needed in the area. The food is great. The Sushi is phenomenal !!! I recommend the Tiger Roll & the Dancing Roll. The only downfall is the service, the wait staff is very slow to seat you & slow to wait on you, but the food is worth the wait. And for the location, this is the only sushi spot I know of any where around Pell City. I will be eating here every time I am in Pell City to visit my parents. This is my moms new favorite spot, because they were having to drive all the way to 280 or Hoover to get good Japanese Food. read more

We went for sushi a week after they opened.Got the Super Crunch, Ninja, and 2 other Rolls. Sushi was good but the only thing really memorable was that the Super crunch wasn't a true Super Crunch Roll. It was wrapped in pink soy paper & didn't have smoked salmon. It was kind of weird but not bad. Crispy spring rolls were undercooked and kind of mushy. Steamed dumpling app was good. My friend for the salmon bento box & didn't like the salmon but said the California roll on it was good. The service was not great. The waitress said it was her first night & we felt sorry for her because she seemed kind of clueless. We will give them another try. It wasn't bad but could be better. read more
