We found Gio on the Knot and had him take our engagement photos. We really liked his engagement photos and decided to have him for our wedding!! We really enjoyed working with Gio for both engagement and wedding photos. - Good communication: I sometimes feel uncomfortable or unconfident I front of camera. But Gio always gave us very clear feedback while he was taking photos. He quickly and clearly told us whether we are good or we need to make any adjustments like looking at cameras, walking forward, smiling more, relaxing, or being more serious. These feedbacks gave me a lot of confidence. Gio answered all our questions through email, call or in person. - Efficiency: I don't exactly remember how much time does Gio need to share all the photos back to us. But Gio shared sneak peeks and full gallery with us much faster than I expected. - Well planned: we decided to take pre-wedding photos in SoHo. I was a little worried because SoHo is always full of people and cars, and I wasn't sure if we could finish our photo shooting within the scheduled time. Gio didn't share any detailed plan with us before the wedding day. But he had all the spots and the most efficient route in his mind, we followed him and took photos at about 5 or 6 very nice places at SoHo. We really love those photos!!! - Nice price. We chose Gio for engagement photos more because of the price. And we surprisingly found out we loved his photos as well!!!! He offered us discount for wedding photos because we had the engagement session with him, which is very nice. Thank you so much Gio! We will definitely keep in touch with you and have you take more photos for us! If I really have to say what he could improve, I would say night shoots. We took a lot of time selecting wedding photographer and then we found Gio. He was responsive when emailing back and forth and we got the pictures really fast. We just loved our engagement photos that he took! We were looking forward that he will be taking photos on our wedding day, but he send his team instead without telling us and didn't show up himself. We were both a bit disappointed. Nevertheless the 2 photographers and videographer were still very friendly, professional, and arrived on time. In general our wedding pictures were nice though we seemed to notice a difference in quality between the pictures one photographer was taking and the other. In some pictures we would've preferred the quality of those that were actually taken from the side over the main angle. We noticed that there were far fewer nice shots of just us; we were having trouble finding that one photo we wanted framed on our wall. We had our first look/reveal in the park and we were somehow disappointed to find out that there was not take a single photo taken of the groom's reaction when he first saw the bride. For us that was the main purpose of the reveal. Other than these they were able to take wonderful pictures of every other moment of our wedding. We especially liked the pictures of both bride and groom getting ready before the ceremony as well as shots later on in the night of just the bride and groom. We had to wait a month to get the pictures and a few more weeks after that for the video. read more

Gio Photography is amazing! Most recently we hired them for our wedding weekend. Across 3 days Gio and his team shot photography and video. Their biggest task was producing a same-day edit that was featured at our evening Reception. Not only did the team meet the tight deadline but the video itself was fantastic! There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Having a Hindu ceremony my husband and I were nervous about the team capturing the most nuanced shots. However, Alex (one of Gio's senior photographers and our key contact for the weekend) and his team were so helpful and talented in capturing everything. They are polite, creative and always willing to work with your wishes and suggestions. For the contract price paid, a team of 3 photographers and 2 videographers were provides for the whole weekend. It felt like they were everywhere and never took a moment to rest. They became our friends - not just our favorite photographers - during the process. Gio was extremely easy to work with. I had found his website through a series of google searches and fell in love with his style of photography. We live in NJ but were getting married in Bufflo NY so we were looking for a photographer who could provide services for both. Gio happily worked out arrangements to be able to do both. During the entire process, it was very easy to get in contact with Gio. He was always prompt with responses, including during his busy season, and was very straightforward throughout the process. Both the engagement session and the photos at the wedding were very efficient! Gio managed to take tons of photos. Especially at the wedding, it seemed like Gio had scoped out the entire venue, and new exactly where the best places would be to take all of the photos. We used Gio and his team's video and photo booth services for our wedding back in July. The photo booth was amazing - the operators were so pleasant and helpful, and they even stayed open a few minutes after they were supposed to close so that my bridesmaids and I could take a photo, which we hadn't been able to do all night. The videographer team was also very nice and professional - they arrived early to each event and captured everything beautifully (we love the final version of our video!). They even used a drone to capture awesome aerial shots!! Gio was not present at the wedding (I think he has a different team that handles video), but my husband and I communicated with him via email and he was always extremely responsive and helpful. My only issue came after the wedding when we received our highlight reel and full-length video. There were a number of changes that needed to be made, so I emailed Gio back to let him know and he responded immediately with the clause in our contract that stated that the videographer had full creative license over the video. This actually came up several times since we had to do several rounds of edits, and it made me pretty uncomfortable that his response was so litigious and that he would immediately bring up our contract without trying to talk out our requests (which were completely reasonable) first. However, despite this, he made all the changes we requested and even waived the fee, so now I think he was just getting pressure from his video editor to push back on our comments - but it was pretty stressful at the time. Either way, we're very happy with the services that Gio provided, minus that one little blip. My brother and sister-in-law also used him for photography services (as have a number of our family friends, at our recommendation), and he was extremely quick in getting them their beautiful wedding photos. We would recommend him to anyone looking for an affordable, professional, and quality videographer! read more

Not only are they fun and easy to work with, they really make sure to reflect you and your fiances personal style. Most photographers create phony poses that seem manufactured, but Gio captures the truth. My wedding photos are warm, genuine real, we are all laughing in many of them! I can't say anything negative about Gio and his team. They were so wonderful to work with. The pictures came out beautifully. There were 4 members of their team at the wedding and you never knew they were there and captured great photos. The team was professional and worked well with a large group. Gio was able to get us our pictures in under 2 months of the wedding. We are waiting for our video and we are sure it won't disappoint. Gio and his assistant did an outstanding job capturing our wedding day: from the "getting ready" prep to the reception dancing--no special moment was missed. There were 2 factors that we were most important to us in choosing a photographer: price and quality. Gio Photography's photo package for 5 hrs fit nicely into our budget but the quality of work and final photos were far superior than I could've hoped for. You can see the difference in quality right away just from the photos Gio has posted on his website. Just like the photos on his website, our photos were absolutely stunning. I'm a big fan of candid, photo-journalistic style photos and there were plenty of those to choose from. Most of the time I didn't even notice Gio and his assistant were around, which is exactly what you want in a photographer if you want to capture those candid moments on film. We had so many pictures to choose from, you would think there were at least 4 cameras taking photos at all times instead of just 2. Gio was great at keeping the posed family and wedding party photo session moving along quickly and creating unique, striking compositions.
