I normally go to gio's for their gelato (best gelato I've had), but I decided to stop by recently and get some food from gio's. I ordered the cheese guava empanada and a kniche.... the lady (owner) was very rude and unprofessional towards me and my family. Also to mention they didnt pay my friend for training after 3 weeks the owner had very nasty and rude attitude about it as well. I do not recomend this place, I regret going here. bad experience. Also do not recommend working here either, since they refuse to pay workers for training and take the job back after a day of working. and for context, it was simply because they "changed their mind" my friend didn't even do wrong. My dad and I were walking back from dinner and happened to drop in at 8:19 pm (11 minutes before they closed). There was only one girl working and she could have been rude to us for coming right before close, but instead was incredibly sweet and helpful. My dad and I have never had Italian ice before, so naturally, we had a lot of questions and she kindly answered every one. Growing up on Long Island the highlight of my week was always when the weekend would roll around and we would head in to town for a slice and an ice. Larry and his wife (delightful couple from Astoria, NYC) have brought a gift to this area. Everything about their product written in other reviews here is 100% true and correct. A proper Italian ice for sure. I've always been partial to Chocolate ice and theirs is very rich and full of flavor. Tried about a half dozen of the other fruit flavors so far, all winners. There's something here for every taste preference. For me Green Apple is my #1 choice fruit flavor. I met Larry a few weeks ago (it was my second visit) and lamented that they were still out of Vanilla Chocolate Chip which I had wanted to try before. He told me that he would make up a fresh batch. I walked in today and he said `Where have you been? We almost ran out.' Walked in the back and pulled out of the freezer a pre-packed quart they had held aside just for me. It's amazing! Just a touch of cream to hold up the vanilla flavor in the ice and no where near as heavy and rich (or fattening) to eat as pure ice cream. Walked out with my pint of Vanilla Chocolate Chip, a pint of Chocolate and a small Peach ice. Hunter served me the last time I was there, a very nice and pleasant fine young man for sure.
