If I had an option to give no stars I would. This by far is the worst clinic I've ever been to…read more I've been going here for years, and it's only getting worse and worse. The Dr. herself is not bad, but she has the worst staff ever. Very unprofessional and has no knowledge. I am disappointed in myself that I actually came back here the last time even though I promised myself I would find a new family Dr. The last two times I went I was not even scheduled with the Dr, I got scheduled with the PA. She was not bad either but she seems rather new. The PA was originally going to refer me to a rheumatologist, changed her mind and said she was going to refer me to an ophthalmologist. I called back a few days later and asked to be referred to the rheumatologist instead because I did not want to go to an ophthalmologist for my condition. It took me SEVERAL calls and attempts to get them to refer me to a rheumatologist and they kept saying I do not need to go there and refused to give me information on the Dr. they refer patients out to. I went back and called my optometrist who told me to go to my PCP because she was not able to refer me out to a rheumatologist. After my optometrist contacted Dr. Dinh's staff, they lied and said they already referred me out to a rheumatologist and gave me all the information I needed already. About two weeks later I get a call from a referring office asking me if I would like to schedule my appointment. I went to the appointment and everything, come to find out- I went to an OPTOMETRIST (partially my fault because I assumed it was the rheumatologist)! I did not get referred to an ophthalmologist OR rheumatologist. I did not need to go to another optometrist, I already had one! This was a complete mess and was highly unprofessional of them. At this point I am not sure if I am even going to get referred to a rheumatologist anymore! I would call them, but half of her staff does not know what they're talking about. I really did want to like this office because the Dr. is not bad... but it is hard to. P.S. both of my siblings and parents come here- they all had bad experiences and bad complaints about the staff! The staff really do reflect on the office, the Dr. should consider re-training her staff in my opinion.

They both always listen carefully to what I tell them then either one of them comes up with a plan (and back up plans) to improve my condition. Kara and Alex are sincerely interested in my well-being. When my issues become complicated, they are always one step ahead on what we should do next. Today I had a steroid shot in both knees. Yea!! It felt better immediately, but if it doesn't last long enough, I think I get gel shots next. There's always a backup plan, and it's not always surgery. Of course Dr. Mustafa is great too, but in doctor's offices, Dr.'s often hand down regular patients to Nurse Practitioner's in the same office. I have no complaints about it with Kara and Alex. I am confident that this office is the right place for me, and I plan on coming here for all my arthritis concerns.

I moved to Texas in 2014 and had the hardest time finding a rheumatologist I loved and trusted…read more Around 2016 after being put on injectable's for my RA that was diagnosed on 2005 I was finding myself breaking out into bumps. I went to a dermatologist and had biopsies but they said they couldn't be sure however they thought it was heat and solar urticaria. I then found Padmapriya Sivaraman, at NRH Rheumatology Associates and immediately thought I found the right person for me. She put me on Rinvoq which was doing me wonders until I broke out head to toe with a rash while on vacation. She asked if the dermatologist tested for Lupus, I asked them and was told they had . Padmapriya Sivaraman, Then performed another test indicating I had Lupus because she was saying my Rosacea was the butterfly pattern. I became skeptical and would question more and more until she told me around 2021 I could no longer come back to the office and I was banned from the practice. I found a rheumatologist closer to me in Keller which he told me Lipus was a specialty of his along with Rheumatoid Arthritis and said based on his tests I had neither but did however indicate having inflammation markers that he needed to look more into. He kept me on Rinvoq but continued to monitor me the same. In 2022 I moved to Indiana and the first doctor I could get into was not my first preference but doctors were turning away patients due to not enough staff. She took me off Rinvoq because I mentions some joint tenderness in my thumbs. She suggested to try out Orencia and after a few months it was not doing much more for me so she switched to Enbrel and after a few months my hair stylist noticed patches of hair missing. I then began to break out with Psoriasis patches in my scalp, legs, torso and arms. I went to get a second opinion and that doctor read my notes and treated me as if I was a hypochondriac and ran my bill up with blood tests, X-rays, ultrasounds and more, making my out of pocket made for the year as of January 2025. I showed photos on Facebook to my friends and luckily she worked at a very well known Rheumatologist and although he was not accepting new patients he decided to take me under his wing. I in the meantime went to a dermatologist that did steroid injection in my scalp...most is all filled in except one of the worst places. He told me I needed to be back on Rinvoq as that is what he would give his patients with Alopecia. I decided to wait and continue injections for 4 months. In the meantime I got into the new rheumatologist and he also confirmed Alopecia and Psoriasis which led him to thinking I have Psoriatic Arthritis and Alopecia. He was able to pull my initial diagnosis from Indiana in 2006 and said most patients were miss diagnosed back then and if patients are on a medication that hides other symptoms doctors don't know to look into other issues and keep treating as is. Fast forward, I moved back to Texas August 2025 and tried to contact Rheumatology Associates closer to Krum area since this is where I am now. I think it was Frisco, but I was denied seeing I was banned from Padmapriya Sivaraman's practice. Again leaving me with limited options with my insurance coverage and showing how our healthcare system is failing their patients every day since COVID! So I beg that you keep all this in mind when choosing your socialist with this corporation. I had to be my own patient advocate and the system don't seem to care. Which is sad seeing I am a small business owner and would not go to these lengths for my clients to just give me a bad ratting...I'm going to go above and beyond to help! I am grateful I have found out so much and I'm back on the proper care for myself.

He gives you details related to your medical condition in English, not in medical jargon. You get notes, that you can READ!!! So you can reference them later. You get printouts that are related to your condition(s). If you need a referral somewhere else, he'll make suggestions to the best of his ability. Dr. Stern will also not treat a condition unless it's necessary, he's not trying to take every last dollar from your wallet. ------- I was diagnosed with an Autoimmune disease on 10/31/18 by my dermatologist. She said that every single one of her patients LOVE and recommended Dr. Stern so I scheduled the first available appointment with him which was on 1/31, and did my best to wait patiently. Ms. Janet Maffei was the Physician's Assistant that spent the first visit with me. She spent what felt like an hour with me and didn't rush me, bless her heart she listened to everything I had to say and took notes. She made recommendations for Dr. Stern, which would be followed up on the second appointment. I meet Dr. Stern briefly at the end of the appointment before I went to have my labs done and he let me know that once the labs were done we would be able to proceed from there. Both he and Ms. Maffei recommended a certain website to assist me with bursitis I have in both knees and hips, back pain, and exercises for my shoulder pain as well. Understandably they couldn't recommend anything for the pain because they didn't want to mask any underlying issues or I could have been fishing for narcotics. They did recommend what I could take OTC and/or hot/cold packs. He also worked with another Doctor of mine to get one of my prescriptions (I think after my first appointment they communicated) increased to help the pain, and it helped a bunch. I waited for another 3 weeks (Dr. Stern's a busy guy!) and I was told this in advance! I did have my labs available to me online on the patient portal but I didn't really understand any of it. When I went in I meet up with him and he went in and described everything, in very great detail that was simple for me to understand. He even wrote notes down for me, and they were easy to read! Luckily for me, I didn't have said autoimmune disease and he said that while he was here for me if I needed him... well, I didn't need to keep paying the higher costs since I didn't have those issues. I asked him about the pain in my shoulder, because I'd waited essentially 5 months for treatment thinking it was the autoimmune disease, and he referred me to a local (extraordinary) shoulder specialist Dr. Howard. He told me he could give me a steroid injection, but that honestly he'd prefer that I see someone that could actually help me rather than just giving me a bandaid. Dr. Stern is a specialist and while I am happy that I won't be needing his services, I will say that I'll miss having him as a Doctor. If I could pick him as a Primary Care Provider I would totally do it, but to those of us who need him... They luck out by having a doc that actually cares about his patients. Someone that's not gonna take every penny you have because they can.
