It's a sad day when the gas station right down the road offers better customer service, better pizza, at better prices, than Giovanni's. Oh, and the gas station also allows you to go into their store - something this Giovanni's no longer allows. In my opinion, the Covid-19 Pandemic revealed two different types of people running service businesses: 1. Those who almost gleefully celebrated the pandemic as an opportunity to offer their customers less, to lower their standards, eliminate services, make everything easier for themselves at the cost of making things worse for the customer, and 2. Those who came back stronger than ever, excited to not only continue their services, but to improve them. This Giovanni's is a disgrace and leads the pack in terms of businesses who fit into the first category. They are still operating, right now, many years after the 2020 pandemic, as if they are still in the midst of a worldwide shutdown. They have never returned to in-store service or dining, the building sits there looking like some post-apocalyptic, sad, abandoned shell of a business. 30 minute wait time, told to pull over cause it would be a few more minutes. Now 20 minutes after that we get our food. The pizza and sandwich were cold, the spaghetti was hot so I assume they forgot it until we got there and cooked it then without an explanation Or anything. This is the second time I've waited almost an hour and I'll never go back. Mediocre food at best and outrageously overpriced. Giovanni's Pizza has been a popular Jackson eatery since my parents were teenagers (or so they tell me) and after a lifetime of eating their food I definitely understand why. For a little while in the early 2000s they changed the ham on the suns and it was a rough few years, but now everything is back to how it once was and it is SO GOOD. I enjoy the pizza, and it has a taste all of its own, but the reason Giovanni's is taking five stars from me is its sub sandwiches. They really shouldn't be anything special-- they have the exact same ingredients as every other ham and cheese sub I've ever had, but it's everything combined that make them my very favorite food at any restaurant in Jackson. The bread is perfect, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and the onions are never overpowering. I'm the odd one out in my family though, because everyone else goes for the buffet every time and I can't say that I blame them. It is replenished constantly and they have a great selection of pizzas, subs, salads and pasta dishes available. I can't remember the price but it seemed below average for pizza buffets and for what you get on your plate (or plates) it is totally worth every penny. read more

I grew up eating Giovanni's pizza. I remember going there with one of my best friends, ordering an 18" pizza, getting a 6 pack of Pepsi from Stop and Go and setting on the steps at the end of the building and eating the whole thing between the two of us. We would do this is your half and that is mine. Because the pizza was so big that if we at an extra piece we'd probably burst. The pizza was absolutely the best. On a this last labor day trip home, the family bought four of their largest pizzas for a meal. It was terrible. Imagine your surprise at having a mouthful of what you hate most. The crust is now a frozen commissary crust of stamped, mass produced quality. If you look on the back, you will see the identifying dimples and circles. It has the consistency and flavor of a chewy, tough white bread. I ate part of one piece and threw it away. The rest of the family managed to finish a piece. So there we sat, unable to decide if we were still hungry or if we were afraid to eat anything again, EVER. There are other ways to do a crust, such as one of the many commissary doughs, dough balls etc. That would probably leave you thinking they made their crust. But it is a little more work than the lazy way they chose. I highly recommend you Never waste your money here. Go to the gas station, any gas station, for a much better experience. read more

I am not sure why people say this is good pizza. It has a rubbery crust, very little sauce and a thin layer of toppings. A pizza could not be any more bland. The only reason I even give it two stars is the delivery person was very nice. read more

could give zero stars I would. Poor customer service and very dirty. Only four customers two already waited on and they couldnt even clean the tables. Came in two minutes after 7:30 and they said we couldnt have the buffet when it was still stocked and there was only one customer eating off of it. I wouldnt come here again. Owner walked in, saw the dirty tables and walked on by. After they closed the buffet the employees went and filled their plates and ate while working. read more

really like Giovanni's pizza. I had a lot of places to choose from, but, since we do not have one in Columbus, I chose this location for supper. was greeted, and chatted up the employees who were extremely nice (that's why I love southern ohio). Giovanni's have a wide selection of pizza, sandwiches, salad and pasta. I honestly ate way too much, but it was so worth it. would I recommend giovann's? yes, most especially this buffet. if you wan't something to go, they can make it while you eat. read more

It's been a years and a half since this place has served ice tea. There is no lemonade. The only non-carbonated drink is red punch. The salad bar is sad, bar pizza is not bad, but limited compared to others. If you're hungry, it's edible. read more

I didn't like the pizza. I just moved here from Maryland. The crust tastes like it sits in the freezer and the sauce is probably canned. The salad bar is COMPLETELY sub-par. It consists of shredded iceberg lettuce, cheese, crumbled egg, onion, tomato and shredded carrots and a few dressings. When I think salad bar I think different types of lettuce/greens, more veggies, etc. Redeeming factor? Those subs! They are delicious. I ate probably 4! LOL! Three stars because the restrooms and restaurant in itself are kept clean, the staff is friendly, but the food isn't so great. read more

When I first moved here three years ago I asked all my neighbors where the best place to get pizza was and all of them recommended Giovanni's. Boy were they right! fresh pizza, decent prices and there buffet is amazing! The little sadnwhiches are delicious and there BBQ pizza is better then the one at California Pizza Kitchen chain on the west coast! So good, how could you not love giovanni's?? lol read more

I would love to have the recipe for the red house dressing, I love their subs and their Pizza is my absolute favorite in the world..... A little on the pricey side for the area. If you are ordering delivery, expect it to take an hour, and to get cold food. They also messed up my order and gave me someone else's food instead of what I ordered. Then it took another 45 min to get the rest of what I actually ordered. I understand mistakes but the time before this I ordered delivery it took about two hours to get my food and it was cold then too. Guess ill stick to carry out if I want hot food. read more
