So me and my husband for the last 15 years, having coming to visit my in-laws and his family in Wellston, Ohio and we were always come around Christmas and we never went back home to San Diego,California without going to Chillicothe. We would always go to Ivy's and pick out our Christmas ornaments to take back with us. Well, 2024. We were your visiting to see the lighting of the Christmas tree and it was so magical it was snowing carolers singing, and we were hungry, and this girl loves her pasta, so my mother-in-law said there's a really adorable Italian restaurant. Let's go see if we can get a table, so we walked from Ivy's down to this adorable Italian Restaurant and before I even walked in, I knew I wanted to eat there. My husband opened the door and we were greeted with such a smile and hospitality. The seating area was packed. Little kids were playing. The joy of Christmas was in the air and we love Christmas That's why we would always come to Ohio around Christmas time. We have never experienced Christmas like we do in Ohio. We are a family that goes above and beyond during Christmas we even do Christmas in July lol, it's like being in a Christmas hallmark movie when we're here in Ohio we never have experienced living in 4 seasons. We have always grew up with sunshine and flip-flops lol, wearing rain-boots and scarfs and beanies were more of a fashion statement lol. My husband and myself always said once our four kiddos were grown and married and out of the house we would move to Wellston, Ohio, So that we did, September 2026, and that year was the heaviest snow Wellston has seen in years. My husband took me on a date ‍‍and of course we had lunch at your adorable restaurant. You guys had just opened for lunch and we walked in and got seated. There was only 1 other couple in the restaurant and this sweet young girl and the cook welcomed us as if we ‍‍were regulars lol we had the most wonderful ambience and company. We sat at the booth next to the bar and had the most wonderful lunch date‍‍ We shared with them how we had just moved her from California and we were so excited to hear all about Ohio. Not one time while we were there did anyone else come in to eat, It was like it was created for just us to be there as if my husband reserved the whole restaurant just for me lol we believe God has his perfect timing, and right when we were getting ready to leave is when people started coming in to eat lunch, that young girl and guy working there made us feel like home So, that adorable restaurant will always hold a special place in our hearts We will always have dinner as long as we can get a table the evening of the lighting of the Christmas tree, we can't wait to bring our kids and grandchildren and our families and friends. It will be our signature place. So fast forward, my aunt is doing a women's conference in Chillicothe this evening 6/5/26 and it's rare when we can get a group of us ladies together and fellowship and have dinner, so I made reservations for 11 of some very special ladies, that God has brought into my life since I've been living here, and all of these ladies besides me and my mother-in-law have never been to your restaurant. So I am so excited to bring them to our signature spot. With that being said, I will always have a vision and hear those cute little kids playing in the seating area the 1st night we walked in to eat there. It's the little things that matter that make it so very special and the little kiddos definitely make the ambience of Christmas when we were waiting to be seated that night and the little kiddo's were so excited to see Santa and we're singing Christmas carols as we were all waiting to get seated, I never have cared how long I would wait for a table because the ambience was so amazing as busy and packed as the restaurant was, our waitress made us feel as if we were the only ones in the restaurant, My husband and myself ‍‍ are so excited to continue to make memories there and to top it off. The food is absolutely amazing and my husband is a pizza critic, and this girl knows her Italian food So with all that being said, I want to say thank you for the joy that we get walking in your door I am so excited to get ready for my girls night and eat dinner at our favorite restaurant. Recently saw on social media that Lievita in Chillicothe, OH was ranked 25th in the WORLD for their pizza. So the next time we were up there we decided to stop in and give it a try. Despite living 30 minutes away we had yet to give this place a try. Located on Paint Street near Yoktangee Park, parking can be an issue. During the day it's metered - after 5 no charge but still rather limited spots for the number of stores in the area. We found one across the street. We got there about 30 minutes before closing but service was courteous and we were seated and had our food within 20 minutes. We weren't the only late arrivals. Another couple came in behind us. We felt bad about being there after closing but many tables still had people eating when we left. We asked for the pizza they are known for and got a 16" NY style cheese pizza brought to us in minutes. Super hot! Overall, we were underwhelmed with the pizza. Sauce was good and not acidic. Pizza could have used more cheese. It seemed like the sauce to cheese ratio favored sauce. The star was the crust. Nice and crunchy. Edge was cooked nicely but I would have liked it to have give a little longer so the middle had more structure. Next time we'd definitely order it topped. They use cupped pepperoni so my husband was happy. I generally eat cheese pizza but even I said it could benefit from a topping or at least more cheese. I'd give the place 7/10 but we're willing to try other things on the menu to see if the cheese pizza just wasn't for us. read more

My wife and I decided to check out Lievita in Chillicothe for our rare date night. We arrived around 5:30 and had a 20 minute wait, no big deal. Wife ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs and I got a medium (12 inch) hand tossed pizza with Ezzo pepperoni (crispy). The food was fantastic! Pizza was top notch. House bread was also really good. Didn't try to famous cheese though ( yet) The service wasn't good at all, I made a point to tell her it was our first time so she would tell us about the famous cheese, suggest items or explain items so we ordered what sounded good. The refills only happened once ( no ice included in warm sweet tea) I had Cajun pasta so I needed that cool iced tea) when I asked for to go boxes ( we ordered a large pizza for two) she didn't bring a pizza box she brought regular to go boxes when we had over half a pizza left. A friend and I ate at Lievita for the first time today 4/29/26. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered soup, salad and Chicken Alfredo from the lunch menu. My friend said the Alfredo was good and the soup and salad were excellent. The mushroom Marsala soup was fantastic and the salad was extremely fresh. I also ordered a pizza to go(so I wouldn't have to fix dinner). While we were eating our server brought a pizza out for my "approval". Said the kitchen staff baked it a bit too long and asked if the pizza was too charred for my taste. Unfortunately it was too charred. He took it back to the kitchen and they remade my pizza. Second pizza was perfect. That is great customer service! I will definitely return to Lievita. It is a great addition to food choices in Chillicothe. I was totally impressed. read more

Brought my wife & in laws here for Sunday dinner with no expectation since it's relatively new & lacked extensive reviews on here. My in laws are notoriously picky eaters so anytime we can find a local spot they like it's a big win & allows them some variation outside of the chain restaurants like Frisch's, Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, etc. First impressions were that is was very quiet at 6:45. Only two tables occupied between the two dining areas. Our party of 4 had no wait & our server Gabby had our drink orders & appetizer selection down in under 5 mins from us walking in. We asked about the menu favorites but since she was new (technically her 3rd day) she gladly shared what limited preferences she had with us. My in laws went with the spaghetti & meatballs & tortellini ala vodka. Both came with choice of soup or salad. The side salads were quite big & the choices were Caesar, spinach, or mixed greens. I chose the Marsala & roasted pepper soup. My wife chose the spinach & berry salad. Cheese sticks were honestly epic. Closest thing I can compare them to are Venezuelan Tequenos. Very different style of cheese stick & very good & full of cheese, no empty space. My Marsala chicken was very good as well & perfectly portioned for the price. There is no reason to dine at any other Italian in the area especially Olive Garden when you can now come here & support a local business downtown with good food at the same price. Service extremely slow. Were told if ordering pizza would be 30 to 40 minutes because pizza ovens backed up. Was 1 hour 10 minutes to get our pizza. Lots of carry out orders and we saw several people leave without their orders because got tired of waiting. They started turning people away at the door because they were so behind. Garlic bread with cheese was very good. Pizza was just ok. Pepperoni greasy, pizza burnt on the bottom and pizza not even hot when we got it. I wanted to give an update on the review I gave this past Thursday. To my surprise, on Friday morning I received a call from one of the owners . She was concerned and sincerely apologetic about the pizza I had received . She actually thanked me for leaving the review and said they used the feedback as a training tool to correct their miscues. Long story short she had it setup for me to show up on Saturday evening at an agreed time and a pizza would be waiting on me when I walked in the door. I will first say that we went on Mothers Day Weekend and they were very busy so they may not have had their "A game" going. We had a reservation but had to wait on the hostess to take an order before we could tell her we had arrived. After that we were promptly seated. 2 of us ordered the Cajun Shrimp Fettuccini and 2 of us ordered the pizza and wing combo. The pasta dishes were not hot when served. It was almost as if they were prepared and then sat waiting while the pizza and wings finished up. There was very little sauce and the noodles were under cooked. The bone in wings were ok, but the boneless wings had a very heavy breading and they were overcooked / borderline burnt. The pizzas were ok, quite heavy on the sauce. The waitress was nice and even though she was busy she checked in to see if we needed anything every so often . Overall we were disappointed but believe that the biggest issue was timing (timing of how long to cook, timing of when to plate, etc). I think that everything would have been much better if they had sufficient staff and a better game plan for how to handle the amount of business that they are getting but I doubt we return. read more

We went here today for dinner with our toddler and had a wonderful experience! This was our third or fourth time here and it was terrific, as usual. The staff are so nice, accommodating, and quick. They are always so good with our toddler too! Everything tastes like it is made fresh and from scratch, even down to their salad dressing! The portions are also generous. I don't think I've ever finished my dish in one sitting! There's never been a wait when we've gone and the food always comes out pretty quickly. Finally! A locally owned Italian restaurant! Love Italian food but hate the Chillicothe chain restaurants? Lievita is here to rescue us! A large menu, with all your Italian favorites, a full bar, and excellent customer service make a wonderful dining experience. There is plenty of on street parking. I popped in, not knowing what the restaurant offered. I was pleasantly surprised to see a full Italian menu. I was promptly seated, and greeted (which is rare these days). Every plate of food from the kitchen that went past me had me on the edge of my seat awaiting my lasagna. When I received my food, I was not disappointed. My first time in town and I wanted a meal that didn't come from a fast food establishment. I used Yelp reviews as my guide, and they did not disappoint. I arrived at Lievita early in the evening and it was very quiet. I received a very warm and appreciative greeting and given the choice of any seat in the restaurant. The menu was varied and in the price range I expected. When I inquired about beer on tap I was given thorough descriptions and offers to taste any before I made my selection. I landed on a suggested IPA and was very pleased. My meal choice was a NY style pizza. It was cooked to perfection, someone in the kitchen is keenly aware of just how to crisp up a thin crust pizza without going too far. During my meal I noted that the restaurant was very popular with Doordash customers. I also observed a non customer stop in and ask to use the restroom. She was greeted warmly and guided to the women's room. If I am ever in the area again I will certainly dine at Lievita. I feel really good know that I am able to support a family business where I am truly appreciated as a customer. read more

I love that they make all their own breads dressings desserts which are heavenly and I think even their pastas right there in House so fresh and amazing . The Tiramisu and the carrot cake are to die for also the tortellini and Buffalo baked macaroni and cheese top notch . sometimes there is a little bit of a wait but the food is definitely worth the wait.
