    Grilled chicken sandwich, fries, pancake

We were passing through Chillicothe, Ohio and stopped at Carl's Townhouse because it looked like a historic, special little spot. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite match the charm. We came in during a rush, but there were several open tables and all were dirty. One even had cleaning supplies left on it. After a few minutes, a table was cleared for our family of five. Service started off fine. Drinks came quickly and the kids loved their milkshakes. Food was a bit mixed. My cheeseburger basket was confusing. Apparently they are slider-sized unless you specify, and mine came out very plain with just bun, burger, and cheese even though I ordered toppings. Other items like the Reuben, bacon burger, and pancake with egg were good. One of my kids could not eat the grilled chicken sandwich because of a strange texture, and her fries were forgotten. There were a lot of little misses. No napkins at first, then only three for five people. Forgotten butter. We had to get up more than once to ask for things. The environment didn't help. It was freezing inside to the point I ended up sitting outside. The bathroom was clean but cluttered with cleaning supplies and equipment, which felt a little odd. There was also a loud speakerphone call happening nearby, and the adjacent table had such a strong cigarette smell that one of my kids went out to the car. Decent food, but the service and environment need some attention.

First tike eating here and I must say, Carl's Townhouse is a cute local diner that brings back that nostalgic feel. Reading about the history of the building and how it ended up in Chilicothe is fascinating. Our waitress was even able to serve up breakfast well into the lunch hour. A huge thank you to her!

Cheap food. Generous portions. Fairly fast service. Delicious desserts. Wonderful and kind staff. Clean place.

Food looked great just make sure you have all your food if you order to go, manager said it was due to shift change which was a lie the same exact people were still there for morning shift. Even the server who took my order. I guess he thought I called it in. If he wouldn't have lied and owned up to the mistake and corrected it the right way, a better review would be given. Update instead of making a new order for me they gave me the food that's been sitting out for over 30 mins, biscuits and gravy doesn't sit well that long. the waffle I order was also burnt, knowing it was burnt the put burnt side faced down.

This is an older place, established in 1939. It shows its age, but otherwise seems clean. If anyone is looking for a shiny, modern place, this is not it. The help all seem to be friendly. The onion rings actually contained slices of onion and the Ruben sandwich was grilled without bread and perfect. I would not hesitate to eat here again.

On a road trip from Chicago the great reviews brought us in from the highway for breakfast. Sitting at the counter we got fast friendly service and met a few locals. Food was great and so was the atmosphere. If we're back through Chillicothe we'll definitely be back.

The owners were kind enough to give me a glass if water.

Did not get to try the food, because Yelp states that the restaurant was open and they are not. Even though the owners have told them the are not open. I road down from Columbus (on my motorcycle...in the forecasted rain) to try the Carl's cheeseburger basket, but NOPE!!! For those still reading their actual hours are: Monday: Closed Tuesday - Friday: 7:30 - 6:00 Saturday: 7:00 -4:00 Sunday: 8:00 - 3:00

Classic diner interior--love the checkerboard floor!

Husband has the chicken sandwhich with onion rings, I had a salad with grilled chicken, so I could eat my 2 fave diner dishes--onion rings and pie! The onion rings were breaded with a slightly sweet coating and were cooked to perfection. The pie was mixed berry--homemade--and was to die for. Did not disappoint. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and attentive. I asked for extra chicken on my salad, and not an eye was batted, always asking if we needed/wanted anything or if they could get us more to drink. I love a classic diner complete with regulars, specials, and pie. Carls is it!

Oh my goodness! So glad we stopped by here on our way home! Everything was really good!!! They're slider sizes on the burgers! Corn nuggets were sweet and creamy. Mac n cheese bites were great! Service was friendly and one gentleman explained what they were known for and thanked us several times for stopping by!

    I love your pickles

First we walked into this bright happy chill vibe brewery with a large selection of all different varieties on tap. We were immediately greeted by Valerie who explained what they have on tap, that we ordered through the bar, and what their specials were. I ended up having a peach ring drink, he ended up having 2 or 3 beers, and I bought a growler of their spiced imperial to go. We were on a mission to try chili all over Ohio so Valerie recommended the chili beer cheese fries and Cincinnati chili double cheese burger which were out of those world good! It was their own cool twist on Cincinnati's unique version of chili that we loved. I would have bought a growler of that beer cheese if I could haha. I had a fun jalapeño popper fried chicken sandwich special they were offering and it phenomenal, I could have eaten 2. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful with a nice big flavorful crunchy batter. We ate every bit of everything. We can't wait to go back! Amazing everything.

Plus there's an elevator, and they do use the upper level for seating and the restrooms. And of course there's the vault downstairs, for merch. And a drive-through. Friendly service. Basic menu but interesting variations, mainly burgers. However, I heard they had a corndog special, and just couldn't resist. Two corndogs, big meaty dogs covered in corn batter and deep fried. Served with mustard and what seems like fry sauce. Pretty good. Also beer, which I didn't try but the variety of types was tempting. Decent prices. Street parking. Now I'll have to go back for a burger.

She took the time to walk us through the menu and even shared how she cashed in her retirement to follow her dream of owning this place. You can tell her heart is in every bite. The menu covers all the good stuff--burgers, fried bologna, chicken tenders--but as the name suggests, the real stars are the loaded hot dogs. They start with a big locally sourced 6-to-1 all-beef dog and then pile on some wild toppings. I went with the Mactastic Dog--two strips of grilled bacon, creamy housemade mac & cheese, and a drizzle of sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, all on a perfectly steamed bun. Absolute perfection. I also couldn't resist trying the Bologna Coney, which was a thick grilled slice of bologna (cut in half) topped with Debbie's "almost famous" homemade coney sauce, a hit of stadium mustard, diced onions, and a generous handful of shredded cheese. I made it a combo with fries and a drink, and it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Slaw Dog and loved every bite. As a former chef, I've got a soft spot for simple food done right--and that's exactly what Crazy Dog Grill delivers. The place itself has a fun, casual vibe with tables on two levels and some great classic rock playing in the background. If you're anywhere near Chillicothe, run, don't walk to Crazy Dog Grill. Ask for Debbie's "almost famous" coney sauce (I'm trying to make it officially famous!), and if you're a mac and cheese lover--trust me--get the Mactastic Dog. You'll thank me later. Tell Debbie Brian and Candi said hello!!

Service was great and no problems there. The pork chop was well seasoned and tasted good. I ordered my steak Medium, no I understand that when you order medium sometimes you get medium well or medium rare depending on the cook but some form of medium is expected. A sirloin is the premium steak so I get that it's going to be in the lower end of quality. When my steak arrived it was pretty dry looking but my waiter (who did a fine job generally) was not around to say anything. Regardless I figured this steak was going to be the medium well side of things. In fact this steak was Well Well Done. Luckily I'm the kind who can go ahead and eat a steak this way though not my preference. It was dried out and very tough as expected. Finally after a bit my waiter came by and asked how everything was, to his credit he offered to have another cooked for me but I had already eaten half of it and I wasn't telling him for the new steak or refund or anything like that. I was more so letting him know that either the grill was running too hot or maybe they gave me the wrong steak and be on the lookout for someone saying they had an undercooked one (mine?) Overall not the best eating experience and if I was someone who refused to eat well done it would have been unfortunate to have to send it back. A little over cooked I get, but this well done was a total miss. Also when did A1 start coming in a serving cup and not just a bottle at the table? I definitely needed it as this steak was too dry. Atmosphere was a nice country vibe as always and hit the mark for the feel.
