I was hoping a negative situation would turn out to be a positive based on how the situation was handled by the company when notified. This my experience. I had the company come out on 09/20/2025 what an experience not in a good way. As I was leaving, I was shocked to see my entertainment center at the entryway of the complex (broken in parts). It literally fell out of their truck. Of course, in a panic, I frantically park my car to move it the best I could out of the entrance to the complex before any cars tried to leave. I reached out to the team that left and was told they couldn't come back for 45 minutes. I immediately fired off emails stating what happened. My entire day was ruined because I had to stick around to see if the items were going to get picked and I felt the need to drive around to see what else dropped out the truck. No surprise as soon as I finished pulling the entertainment center to the curb and getting back in my car, I turned the corner out of the complex to find a large piece of a computer desk in the middle of the road near the major intersection. I went into another panic because cars were running over the board and I was afraid it might flip to hit someone's car. I again raced to park to see if I could run out into the middle of the road before cars came but the piece was run over several times that it landed in the worse location with the view being blocked by oncoming traffic from the opposite end. I couldn't get a grip on the board because cars were coming so I'm literally in the road trying to kick the board to the side of the road with my foot (yes it was painful). Luckily, one car saw my efforts and stopped. It was not a cool temperature day and I'm no spring chicken (which I'm surprised I didn't have any health issues from the adrenaline, embarrassment, frustration and desperation to move these items). Since I couldn't leave this heavy board on the side of the road, I'm literally trying to carry this wood board back to where the entertainment center fell out the truck (definitely not a short walk). It was exhausting and humiliating to run around and lift items that should've been hauled away given the amount paid for just a few items. I finally was able to speak with a representative who made an offer based on my troubles created by their team. I agreed to the offer from the representative and waited what is more than a reasonable time period (9/22/2025 to12/2/2025) without any luck. While there are things that can happen when the team is working from one job to the next, it is more important how the company handles the issue with the customer that can change how the overall experience is viewed. It makes the difference in showing that a small company stands by it's service and sets it aside from the bigger companies. Unfortunately, I was extremely reasonable even when the worker was going to lose a week of work for the incident. I was completely against this in today's economy and just asked that improved quality standards be in place so it doesn't happen again. I understand the workers are doing this all day so things are going to happen. Again, it's not about what happened during the service as the biggest issues, it's about how it is handled by the company. I do everything I can to support small businesses but I think the more I do the more problems I experience. As someone who wants to extend as much grace as possible, the constant waiting on the USPS at this point is beyond reasonable. Nevertheless, I wish the company the best and hope they take this as a lesson learned to improve how to resolve issues immediately. I didn't expect to be part of the crew that day with having to move my own heavy items out of the street when I paid for someone else to do it. read more

We have used Get Rid of It in the past and had a very good experience. However, so many things went wrong with our most recent interaction that I am honestly surprised they even charged us at all for the services. I am seven months pregnant and needed to have furniture moved before my in-laws came for Thanksgiving. The movers were three hours late and didn't even call to let me know. I understand that they were busy however my most concerning feedback is the damage they did to our home while moving the furniture. The movers, though extremely nice, did not take precautions when moving the furniture. I was resting and when I came down I was shocked to see smudges and scratches up-and-down our stairwell walls. We had just moved into this home so the damage was very noticeable as we'd had the home painted less than 2 months ago (after we'd moved in). The damage to the walls as well as the scrapes left in our new hardwood floors were beyond disappointing. What was worse was the interaction I had with the owner of the company when I reached out to share my negative experience. He took no responsibility and didn't even apologize for the damage done to our home. I don't typically leave negative reviews because I feel that taking a more direct approach and trying to remedy the situation is typically more effective. However, I am left feeling taken advantage of in this situation. I highly recommend you find a more professional moving company to use. Good luck! read more

Don't use them! They damaged my hardwood floor and then never showed up when they said they would "take care of it." It was a simple job...remove sofa from 1st floor living room. The two movers were early, efficient and courteous. However in their hurried effort, they slid the sofa (on its back) halfway across the living room floor and on to the hardwood floor before I stopped them (WHO DRAGS FURNITURE ACROSS HARDWOOD FLOORS???) I warned them about the loose spring in the back. After loading their truck, I came back and noticed a large scratch in the hardwood that was not there before. After several calls and email correspondences, Mike said he would send some people to investigate the scratches at the agreed date and time. They never showed up. And Mike never replied back my ensuing inquiries. DO NOT USE! read more

This is a great service when you're moving out and need to get rid of large items. Initially, I tried to drop off my furniture at Goodwill or Salvation Army but both of their storage spaces were full so I needed to get rid of all my large items fast! Git Rid of It responds quickly, came on time (early actually), and they were in and out in matter of minutes. Because they work so efficiently, they are a bit rough so I can see why some people had bad experiences damaging walls and whatnot. No major issues with them at all- I was a little surprised how easy and fast it was. They gave a very prompt email response to my request and set up a good time to come to the house. The team was on time and worked very quickly. Nothing scratched or broken. The only issue was that the truck did not carry change. This place is affordable (hands down the best quote and final price we encountered), provides great customer service, and are insanely quick. Would absolutely recommend. Like other reviews, we had a lot of large furniture set to be picked up by charity but they only took one piece. We literally had furniture sitting outside in our parking space and were scrambling to get rid of it. Called a number of services for quotes and availability and Get Rid of It proved too good to be true. Only reason I'm not providing 5 stars is re: pickup schedule; my understanding was 8am-10am, company pegged 7am-8am. I was still asleep when the truck arrived at 6:45am, but luckily they were smart enough to call me 3 times to get through my DND. I can't say enough good things about these guys. I've used them three times. First time was to remove a large steel ramp left by previous owners. Took four guys to pick the thing up and get it in the truck. Price was very reasonable. Second time was to move 6 huge radiators from to and from Chem Strip (a local dip-and-strip joint). Radiators were heavy, but these guys did a fine job. Third time, they hauled away a pile of construction debris from my basement renovation. Each time, they were very, very easy to schedule (came the next morning, right on time). They are really strong, and can move just about anything. Very polite and responsible too (wore shoe covers in the house). And finally, they didn't charge an unreasonable amount - very competitive with other moving companies. First, He said he would call back in the morning. He didn't. I get that, the guy's busy. I call him the next day. 'Uh, lemme call you in an hour so I can lay my schedule out and see if I can squeeze you in' I said, 'okay fine. You'll let me know either way?' 'ya ya, sure' No call. So if that's the kind of service I get from just trying to set up an appointment, then I probably would have gotten the same service for the actual job. No way of telling. What I was told and what I got were two different things: Told: "I have you scheduled for 10-12 on Friday and we'll call you 30 minutes prior to arriving." Got: Called "30 minutes ahead" at 11:19, Called them back at 12:30 still hadn't arrived, arrived near 1, they did apologize for being late. Told: "Our pricing is much lower than the average local company. We simply do flat rates based on volume. So we'd send a 16ft box truck (about 28.5 cubic yards or 8 pick up trucks worth). The flat rates include the labor to load, and disposal fees. 1/4 of the truck is $150, 1/2 of the truck $275, 3/4 is $375, and a full truck is $475. We can come tomorrow and give you an exact up front price before loading," Got: No upfront pricing. Told it was more because one item was heavy, and also about bringing a larger truck. Paid way more than the 1/4 truck pricing for volume that was easily less than that. They did get rid of my junk, but for much more money than reasonable. They took away 3 toilets with boxes, five 5x7 rugs, a 3x5 table and chairs, a pallet, some branches (think 1 Home Depot paper yard bag worth), 47 inch led tv with box, a broken wheel barrow, some small concrete pieces that would fit in the Home depot bag, and the heavy concrete fountain base - the guys estimated 600 pounds. read more

I was a little worried because it was just 1 guy and one lady, and they quoted me low enough that i thought something was wrong, but then they got to work and moved really quickly. we had a ton to throw out and it only took them like a half hour of hard work. Had used Git Rid Of It before to haul away an old refrigerator left behind from previous owner of the house and they were super easy to work with (I just left the fridge in the driveway with check in the freezer and it was gone when I got home). We recently cleaned up hundreds of bricks from a poorly designed DIY patio (also left behind from previous owner haha) and needed to have the debris hauled away. I called on Wednesday at 4:30 about hauling a refrigerator from my basement and disposing of it. I was quoted a the lowest price I'd heard to haul it the next morning at 7:00 am. Perfect! I was called twice before 6:30 am the next morning, and missed both because I was still asleep. I called them back to find they were in my driveway waiting. That would normally be a nightmare type situation, but they just hung out in their truck and were totally cool when I made it out around 6:40 they were pleasant and worked quickly. We purchased a home this past weekend - closed on Friday. By Saturday we realized that the home was full of the former owner's stuff. We spent that day cleaning it out. By Sunday, we realized we had a lot of trash to haul. We called three different trash removal companies on a Sunday.
