I finally found a dentist in Anchorage I like!…read more Look on Yelp for Dentist reviews and you'll find a weird situation. Lots of polarization, lots of flagged reviews, it's the wild-wild west out there. I main reasons I decided to check out midtown: - Close to my job (can walk from work) - Accepted by my insurance Another, dumb, reason: it's a pretty cool, modern-looking building. I came here after I experienced hard-selling and fear-mongering tactics at another Dentist. I wanted to get a second opinion. Boy, am I glad I did. Staff here are friendly and professional. Appointments are timely. The lobby is beautiful. You can choose your own music or watch Netflix while you get drilled/scrapped/polished. I had Dr. Adam Jensen for my dentist, he was great. He had a data-driven yet practical approach. I wish I knew he was a peak bagger (just found it out by creeping the website), we'll have so much more to talk about next time!

I've been here twice. I went specifically for a cleaning but was told I had to come back. By this point, I had already invested my time and effort and I went back for the following reasons: - I liked Dr. Tudor - The office was clean, inviting and full of modern equipment. I've now been here for two cleanings and have been attended to by the same hygienist, who is very thorough. You know you got a good cleaning when you leave with some pain (good pain)! Except on my last visit, she nearly chipped my tooth by pulling out the reflection mirror too quickly (bad pain). I'll be back, mainly because I don't feel like searching for yet another new dentist and also because I do feel like they are honest. I inquired about both whitening and Invisalign and they advised I did not need either.

This review is for Dr. Wrigley as well as the hygenist I saw (can't remember her name)…read more The people themselves are certainly pleasant & professional. This is not a review about their personalities. My issue was only idenitfied by another dentist that has since completely solved a painful & frightening experience. I had been having some jaw pain that continued to increase over a few weeks. Along with that symptom, I had a metallic taste in my mouth. I assumed this was a leaking filling as they were quite old. I was examined twice by Dr. Wrigley (twice because the pain increased & continued), with no identification of an issue with my filing. She referred me to a PT for a "lump" in my jaw (I didn't not go) & to an ENT Dr. to "rule out anything serious." At that point (with a lump & her concern), I thought I might have jaw cancer... seriously. The ENT charged me $200 for about 10 minutes to tell me I might be dehydrated (I won't even go into that!). I then went to another dentist who quickly diagnosed me with clenching my jaw & a broken & leaking filling. This was discovered by x-rays & pictures & fixed within a week with a crown & a night guard. It has been 4 months & I have NO pain & NO metallic taste. Dr. Wrigley never took x-rays & disregarded my idea that it might be my filling. She actually said... "With those symptoms, I don't know what it could be." I then learned with my new hygenist, that it appeared my teeth had not been cleaned in almost a year. I had had them cleaned 2 months prior to this. I had more recession & pocketing of my gums than ever before. I have now been attempting to correct that problem. Very frustrating! I would not advise going to Soltice Dentistry as I believe their standard of care is below par. Not something I'm willing to gamble with.

Around $8,000 dollars, the guy sent me a link through text and wanted me to comment through a link on setting up a plan without any acknowledgement of how uncomfortable I was trying to explain that I can't just commit on something that financially serious at the moment. I stood up from the dental chair and walked back to the front desk. Before I left I asked if I owed any co-pay for the service, the guy trying to sell me the $8,000 said no but I should take his opinion seriously and come back ASAP. All and all, I'm not trying to have a Hollywood superstar smile, as long as there is nothing serious I'm happy, trying to push someone into an expensive contract is another. Not coming back to this place.
