New owners, attention to detail, new spaces and offerings. It's a lot more "woo woo" now, but it was so much more of a spa experience with much improved atmosphere and peacefulness. Infrared sauna and robes were welcome additions. The foot baths will stain your feet, templrarily. Josh may be a bit... eccentric, but he takes extra care of you and isn't intrusive. The massage and reflexology specialists were excellent professionals. I only wished the prices and bookings for specials were online and that there were options to be more "coupley" for a romantic valentine's special instead of so separate. It worked for us, but don't expect to be holding hands on side-by-side tables. Champagne and appetizer plates were a nice touch. Music was a bit loud and weird, but fit the mood they were going for. The main cave has not changed, parking is very limited and TIGHT, and the restaurant next door is still incredibly noisy (VERY loud chopping and banging sounds), but they have done a nice job working what they have. I still think the lighting needs to heat the salt for better effectiveness (instead of fluorescent bulbs). read more

After 10 days of Alaska backcountry hiking, I definitely needed a massage! My feet were also beaten up, so I booked a foot soak and a 90 minute massage. I booked online which was super easy. Because for me it's apparently all about walking places :), I walked from the downtown (tourist) area where I was staying to the spa, which was a leisurely 15-20 walk depending on one's pace. I got a friendly greeting right away and started my foot soak. You have the option to customize the salt blend depending on whether you want a relaxing soak, reviving soak, etc., but I deferred to the expert to make a blend for me and it was lovely. After my foot soak (no foot massage, just the soak), my feet were definitely more relaxed, and a good transition to the massage! We had discussed that I wanted a deeper level of pressure and she delivered the right amount, also checking in with me frequently to ensure that the pressure level was still working for me. One thing she did was a side massage which is something that I don't experience too frequently but is a useful way to get at areas that are sometimes hard to get at when on your back or front. I get a lot of massage (bodywork is important for your health), and this was a great one, even working out a lingering neck pain that my regular therapist hadn't managed to vanquish. If I could give zero stars I would. My family has booked me a session multiple times and every time I have received a cancellation. Upon the last cancellation I pointed out this has happened multiple times for the same reason. The business has messaged me directly as you can see in the screenshots. I will leave this up to you to decide if you would still like to obtain this service. After the last text I have received multiple phone calls and text in outrage that I would say something about this situation as well as an aggressive voicemail. This location is sandwiched between a sushi shop and a sandwich shop. Do I recommend this hole in a wall to anyone... absolutely not but I would recommend to avoid at all cost. read more

Passing through town as a tourist, but had to leave a review for this awesome little spot a short walk from downtown, Juneau. I had a one hour Reiki session as well as a one hour reflexology and both services were excellent. The space is really warm and cozy and the services take place in the actual salt cave. The ultimate in unprofessionalism. I made an appointment for a couples' massage for our anniversary. I received multiple reminders and confirmations via text and email, up until an hour or so before the appointment time. When we showed up, we were told the second massage therapist was nowhere to be found, and not answering her phone. The owner offered to do back-to-back massages instead, if her help didn't show up within a few minutes. She then got on her phone, announced that her help's phone was off, and speaker dialed a number which went to voicemail. then she said to us, "I'm honestly too shaken up to give you a massage." WHAT?! Three minutes ago you offered back-to-back, now you suddenly can't do even one? Oh, but "if I hear from her I'll call you to come in." No, thank you. How about a gift certificate, an alternate appointment time, or SOMETHING to at least try and apologize for destroying our plans for a relaxing couples' massage? And why am I getting confirmations and reminders an hour ahead of time if your help isn't confirmed? So disappointed and frustrated with the complete lack of professionalism or customer care. read more

Salt room is relaxing, but was not given the overview I was expecting from their site. Had one absolutely wonderful massage by Jesse, but was thereafter unable to book another massage as I called 3 times over the course of a week, got a voicemail that said they were booked till Monday and called back immediately just to not get a response again. Both times I've been asked what days o was looking at despite giving all that info in the voicemail. Was then told they're booked till the week after (would that have been the case if they'd only called me back earlier?) and only took massages on Thursdays and weekends. Would have been good to know - on their site or in a vocemail or *something* before waiting a week for a call back. Only in town for 2 months and got my membership hoping to take advantage of their perks, since I get massages weekly or every two weeks as needed when on a rough rehearsal and performance schedule, but looks like a waste. read more

Received a much needed massage to relieve aching areas during my short visit to Juneau. Was a visit of "firsts" for me. I never got a side-massage before. At the therapists suggestion, she massaged both sides in order to help free up the blood flow. I plan to request this from my local therapists. The other "first" was spending time in the salt cave. I didn't know such a thing existed! It was lovely. Very atmospheric. I believe you'd have to spend more time regularly in such a place to see results though. Wish I had the space at home to build my own salt cave! Be aware, if you visit, parking is very limited. It was a little scary waiting for a space to free up at the coffee shop next door. The two businesses have an agreement to allow massage clients to park in very tiny lot. I suggest taking Uber or Lyft or have someone drop you off. read more

The massage was THE BEST massage we have EVER had!!!! Therapist listened to what areas needed to be focused on. It was a thorough massage from head to toe with perfect pressure. Scheduled an appointment, showed up, and sat at the locked door calling and trying to get someone to open for our appointment. We were informed that the person that was supposed to unlock the doors was having car troubles and they needed to reschedule. Due to my schedule, the next available date was the next week. No large problem. The next week, we show up for our re-scheduled appointment only to find the doors locked again. Called and was told they their first appointment was not until 1300 hrs. My rescheduled appointment that THEY had given me was at 1000 hrs, but they seemed to forget to write it down from the last week. 1 mistake can be explained. 2 in a row is being disrespectful and unprofessional. We scheduled 4 massages for a Sunday afternoon but our therapist got sick and had to cancel. We were given a one hour session in the salt cave. At first, I thought it was going to be weird just sitting in the cave w 3 other people for an hour. We all takes the first 30 min then eventually we all became very relaxed and fell asleep. I wish we would have settled in earlier because it was so relaxing at the end. Recommend the cave for sure, maybe next time I can speak on the massages! read more

The amount of scheduling errors, no shows, locked doors, cancelled appointments...over the years is unacceptable. I have tried many, many times to give them 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th chances and I am 100% done with this business. Which is a shame because my kids love the cave. Juneau is so fortunate to have a Salt Cave. I've been several times to the cave and I have also attended one of the spa parties where they let you sample the mindful minerals products as well as learn more about Himalayan salt benefits and uses. The cave itself is wonderfully lit with behind the wall lighting and the main focal point wall has a changing light color wheel behind it so as you are relaxing in the very comfortable zero-gravity reclining chairs, you feel a sense of peace. The halo therapy (salted air pumped into the room) has made a difference in my sinuses, they clear and remain that way for days and days afterwards. The owner and staff are well informed and always willing to take time to chat about the products. I've completely changed my skin care to their products. The prices are comparable and they are always responsive and welcome input on how the items work. The price point for the cave is less than other caves around the states. The owner participates in First Friday's and often posts specials on the Facebook page. This place is an oasis for those of us who enjoy self-care and prioritize relaxation and isolation from the stresses of life. Glacier Salt Cave is a gem! I highly recommend trying out the cave. It's locally owned, operated and is a wonderful addition to what is already a charming town. read more

I've been to the Salt Cave a few times. There's not much to do in Juneau and this is a great place to come with your friends and just relax and enjoy each other's company. Or you can come by yourself and enjoy the dimmed and rotating soft colored lights, soft music and fall asleep in the cave by yourself. Char, the owner, is very knowledgeable with all the products she sells. I was so relaxed and slept so well the nights after coming home from this experience. Ask Char for any daily specials she may have or group rates. Get a party of 6 or 8 and she will give you all a great experience after hours for a very generous price. It is a must do here in Juneau by yourself or with friends. You won't be disappointed, I loved it and will go many more times. read more

While up in Alaska I stopped by the Glacier Salt Cave & Spa. I found this spa and decided to check it out. I walked in and was able to get a massage and the mud mask that day. I love the Glacier Salt Cave. My first experience using the salt cave was the first week of January of this year. I had been sick for three weeks and discovered that I was battling three different illnesses. Antibiotics didn't help and I was scheduled to travel the following week so I turned to the Glacier Salt Cave. I did a one hour session in the salt cave the day before flying as well as a session during my lunch break the day I was due to fly. I can honestly say that I felt better. I can't begin to tell you how much relief I felt in my two sessions. I have visited the salt cave many times, as it is conveniently located across the street from my office and I have taken my mom and niece for sessions. My mom could not believe the results and will continue regular visits to the cave.
