Wow, not only did they overcharge me, but the nail polish started chipping and peeling the same day it was done. I had a manicure with polish and a pedicure with gel polish, charged for gel manicure (did not get) had the upgrade with supposed massage etc, but the old man doing my manicure didn't massage, polish was so sloppy, and flaked off within hours. I paid good money over $130 and I certainly did not get the services I paid for. Shop of schyster's, pedicure was sub par flaking n peeling in days. I hope you get back the bad karma you deserve. My friends and I make it an afternoon on a weekend with Moroccan oil pedis with hot stone massage and a delicious meal at the husband's Pho restaurant on the other corner of the building. My Sister went in (had appt scheduled 2 weeks prior). She came home with skin ripped off her cuticles and fingers. The woman (apparently the owner) that did her Brazilian...messed up and ended up having to scrub her private area excessively to clean her up and fix what she did. On top of that horrible experience, the shape of her nails is incorrect and sloppy. My sister was offered a redo on her nails but the state of her fingers was not ok. She was actively bleeding upon leaving and no further action was taken and she was charged full prices for all services. Even after feeling violated, and having the skin ripped off her fingers. I made an appointment for mani/pedi. I walked in about 7min late, the guy helping me looked at the clock. I told him that I had regular nail polish on my toes and dip on my fingers and I would like the dip again. He said I could only get the classic pedi because of my untimeliness. I have to admit I was a bit annoyed and worried that they were just going to rush with me. I picked my color fast. They did my toes and wrapped my fingers at the same time. The lady that did my toes did a really good job cutting my nails and with the massage. They both had really good sense of humors and made me laugh. After my toes were done, they moved me to get my dip on. This is my second time getting dip. I got it done while on vacation in Texas the first time and it was pretty thick. This guy really knows what he is doing. He shaped my nails really good and the dip is not too thick! Overall I had a really good experience here and will go back again! read more

I have gone twice now, while in Juneau, and I haven't been disappointed! The first time my aunt and I had a reservation and we received a pedicure and manicure, which was extremely relaxing and spot on. The treatment was thorough to the point of almost falling asleep due to the care the team treated us to! The second time, I came in as a walk-in by myself. I was a little worries I wasn't going to be able to get in, but the staff fit me in before I had to get to the airport. I requested dip powder nail extensions with a French ombré color and I was over the top pleased with the result. The nail technician asked me every step of the way if I was pleased with where he was going with it, he constantly wanted to make sure I was happy with the progress, and he reassured me every step of the way that he knew what he was doing. Once finished, I was over the moon with the results!!! It was exactly what I wanted and when a stubborn nail wasn't to his liking (the top coat wasn't as shining as the rest) he made sure to correct it and make it just right! I am very pleased with the services that I have received thus far from the nail technicians that I have utilized and plan on returning each time I'm in town! I am sorry to leave a bad review but I had a manicure tonight and will not be going back. I've been going the Nail Bar occasionally since they opened and always had a good experience but tonight I was so disgusted with the lack of sanitation that I just can't go back. Upon arrival I was seated at a station just vacated by a previous client. Nothing was cleaned between customers including the station and the tools. The same tools were used and were obviously dirty. I am very frustrated that I didn't just stop and walk out but I didn't want to make a fuss but as more time goes by the worse I feel about the entire experience. I watched multiple clients come and go around me and no cleaning happened between clients and the tools were not cleaned. Disposable items like file continued to be used and were not thrown out after each client. I just hope I don't get an infection after this experience. read more

I've given this place four chances because I wanted to be in love with it. I got two pedicures and two gel manicures. This place is great for Juneau, because Juneau doesn't have anything "fancy" like this. If you have had your nails done, however, down south then you might know what I'm talking about. They have great service and do good work here but if you get gel nails, they won't hold up. The gel gets scratches and it shows up like crazy. It also chips. I have never ever experienced gel doing that, so it is just how their polish it. It shouldnt chip or scratch, it should just grow out and be in very similar condition. Also my first pedicure completely wiped off somehow after a week. Again, not due to skill but I think polish. read more

Ambiance is clean with relaxing sounds, no one rushing the technicians.. Ena did my gel manicure with care to the cuticles as to not tear or cause bleeding. Even filed my nails without leaving edges! Whoever did my nails pretty much beat the shit out of my hands with the dremel and left dust all over my hands the entire time. I told her I had decided I didn't want gel on my hands because they were so brittle after she used the dremel to remove my old gel, and to leave them with just clear coat on and she continued to put clear gel on me and charged me $30. Went there for a pedicure and it was the one of the worst pedicures I've gotten in my life. I sat down and did not see them pull out clean tools, they pulled out tools that were already sitting at their station. She was rough repeatedly despite me saying ow, too much. She used both hands in a fist and banged them against the sides of my leg, to which I said no, please don't - she continued to do this down my calves. She snipped my cuticles to the point of bleeding, which hurt quite a bit when she poured alcohol over it, and hurt even worse when she used polish remover after she messed up the first time. She did not understand what I wanted despite describing it multiple times, multiple ways and berated me for what she thought was the wrong word (she insisted I should have said ombre which wasn't what I wanted either). She then did my color wrong again after the third time and got mad at me because she had to redo it (despite repeating back what I wanted more than once). I settled for the pink with super thick glitter more than half way down my toes because I had already been there more than an hour at that point and was preparing for a plane to catch. They sat me at the dryer and proceeded to ignore me the rest of the time I was there and not once checked my polish to see if it was drying. When a party of three came in, they proceeded to have me leave (presumably so they could have a place at the dryer when their turns were up), again not checking my toes to see if they were actually dry. They smeared badly before I even got to the car and as they were still throbbing and painful later, had to wash my toes with antibiotic solution. Will never go again, and do NOT recommend to other people. read more
