I have used the Southshore train service about a dozen times since I started dating my boyfriend about two years ago. He lives in South Bend and we love going to Chicago, which is about 2 hours by train. It is $15.75 each way per adult person from South Bend to Millenium Station in Chicago. So for the two of us round trip, it cost $63. For children, seniors, and disabled the cost per ticket is $7.75. Greater discounts are available if you buy rides in bulk. This is a great, inexpensive way to get to and from Chicago from South Bend. The seats are mostly comfy, some of the passenger train cars have outlets, and everyone is nice, clean, and keeps to themselves. The ride does get bumpy around the Indiana Dunes so prepare gor that if you get motion sickness like I do.

Thanks Mallory S. for posting this page. This train line is not just a means of transportation but a full traveling experience. Download the app to check out the schedule or easy way to purchase tickets which can also be bought at the stations or on the train. I remember this line running from downtown Chicago to South Bend, IN airport, then a short 20 minute drive to the University of Notre Dame. The landscape and views along the route were beautiful. As of April this year, the Monon Corridor line opened that includes stations in Hammond and Munster IN. An exchange station makes transfers from one line to the next easy. On your ride, check out several of the amenities. There is a quiet "sleeping" car, there is Wi-Fi available, racks to store your bikes while traveling and some cars have charging ports. Some great times and memories spent on the South Shore Line growing up. So good to see it's still around and thriving. It is one of only a few Interurban railways remaining in the United States. I hope it has many more years to come

My driver hit a dog during my ride, and while I'm not sure of the outcome, it appeared to be a…read moreserious (potentially fatal) injury. I was also concerned that the driver was frequently distracted by his phone-making calls and texts, as well as scrolling-for much of the drive. It was a very disheartening experience, and I believe it could have been avoided if the driver had been more attentive. Based on this experience, I won't be using South Bend Taxi again. EDIT: I've read the owner's response and would like to clarify a few points. The accident occurred on an empty street around 5:30 AM with no traffic, and I was the one who contacted the police. We resumed our trip after the officer arrived and the police report was completed, as the officer said that an insurance claim couldn't be filed if the driver left prior to completion. I can't say I noticed if the neighborhood was "sketchy" as the response claims, but I'm also not certain I see how it's related to the incident. While I've had several successful rides with this company in the past, I've consistently observed drivers using their phones directly in hand, not via Bluetooth. Regarding reimbursement, I had not been informed of any prior to reading this reply; the owner simply asked me to reach out, and when I called, I received no response. Unfortunately, the company's reply seems to misrepresent the situation at certain points. I'll add a star to my rating because I appreciate the positive experiences I've had previously and can confirm that I've had good customer service in the past, but I remain concerned about the recurring inattentiveness I've witnessed while riding with this company

I attended a wedding at the Old Bag Factory, which is... an old bag factory! I think the name is…read morekind of funny and not the most appealing, but it is what it is! The building itself is very large and made up of several shops. The venue space is upstairs and also very large. The ceremony took place in a room with lots of great natural light. The only complaint is that the big pillars obscured the view of the wedding party for some guests. The reception happened right down the hall from the ceremony area, with the buffet line, hors d'oeuvres, bar, gift table, and guestbook table lining the space between. Everything was spread out to give enough room without feeling like you had to walk a mile to get anywhere. The bartenders were great and super friendly. We were seated by a very loud HVAC unit which made it tough to hear the MC and some of the speeches. The middle of the room was the dance floor area, which was pretty small but not a lot of people were dancing. The venue was simple and a little industrial, but a nice blank canvas for decor. Finally, the parking was a little cramped with not a lot of spaces; I believe some people had to park across the street so try to get there early if you need extra time.

The exposed wood and white lights created a rustic feel for the wedding guests. The food and drinks were both delicious...I think they were from the restaurant at the bag factory. There are different shops/ restaurant on the first floor at the bag factory. I would love to go back and see what else they have to offer. The Old Bag Factory-- great place to spend the afternoon or host a special event!!

Goshen Municipal Airport has a clean, spacious lobby area for passengers. There are multiple…read morehangars for planes / helicopters. They host various events throughout the year such as the incredibly popular Freedom Fest Air Show, which brought in acts including the Shockwave Jet Truck and fighter jets. The show ended with a big fireworks show. They also hosted a 5K run on the airport runways. If you are interested in getting a pilot's license, there is a great flight school here too!
