I've been in search for a new local stylist to save my hair and I came across Raquel on instagram and I looked at a few photos and instantly knew she is who I wanted to do my hair. As nervous as I was I took a chance and I'm so glad I did! She reached out and wanted me to go in for a consult just to discuss what my options were and I was able to book my appointment. She even had a sooner opening and asked if I wanted to go in sooner so of course I did!! Raquel did phenomenal on my hair!! She literally made me a whole new woman with this hair!! She slayed and I couldn't be happier!! Raquel thank you so very much for saving my hair and giving it life! I first learned about this salon because of an ad on Facebook advertising a holiday special for $140. Since the salon was close to my house I decided to give it a try. I was able to get in the next day at 3 PM with a stylist named Deanna. Originally I asked for one solid color all over (to even out the old existing color I had), but when I arrived I asked if I could do balayage instead. Since I know balayage isn't something everyone can do I asked if Deanna felt comfortable doing it. I told her if it was a problem I would do the solid color instead. She said she has done balayage before and could do it so I showed her a picture of what I wanted. She bleached my hair but the top was still really dark so she went back and bleached it a second time. By now 2 other stylists in the salon asked if she was OK and needed help. She said she was OK but obviously this made me nervous. Finally the owner stepped in and washed my hair and added toner. There was no definition at all- it just looked solid orange. By now its around 7 PM and I was getting annoyed because I had taken the day off of work and left my kids with my husband to do my hair. When I expressed my concern the owner said balayage typically takes around 5-6 hours. OK cool, but I didn't even get balayage. At 9 PM Deanna is finally done and asks if I want my hair curled. I declined since I had already been there 6 hours and I hated how my hair looked. Even though I was unhappy, she still charged me $160 for her work (see the picture for end result). The next day I went into work and my coworkers were shocked at how horrible my hair looked. I felt so mad and upset so I messaged the owner. Her resolution was for the same girl to fix it. Ugh. OK whatever so a week later they got me in again and told Deanna to just dye it dark brown and to get rid of the orange (At this point I wasn't going to even have her attempt balayage again). So she colored my whole head dark brown. After she was done we could still see some of the color she had done before in a few places. She asked if she wanted me to have her color it more but at this point I just wanted to leave. She dried my hair and curled it but didn't use any hairspray so my curls fell out about an hour after I left. So no, I don't recommend this salon and I really regret going here. I wasted $160 (no refund was offered) and 9 hours for hair that looks almost the same as when I first walked in the door. If I was the stylist I would have been honest about my ability. If I didn't think I could pull off the balayage because of my skill (or because of my dark hair and existing color as she told me after the fact) THEN BE HONEST!!! Don't lie and say you can do something when you can't. I would have appreciated the honesty and asked for something else. read more

I would not recommend going to this salon at all. I had an appointment with Maria Veliz on Friday 11/1. Before I went into my scheduled appointment, I originally had brown hair with low lights. I asked her if she could color match me to my natural hair color which is a medium to dark brown. She told me that it could be done in one sitting and that she would need to use a filler before she put on the color. She told me that it was going to be $145. I shut up to the salon for my appointment and we began the process. She filled my hair with the toner, let it sit for 20 minutes, rinsed it out, and then she applied the color. After she rinsed my hair out and blow dried it, I noticed it was red. I mentioned to her that my hair was red and she said she doesn't see it. I asked her if she could fix it, she agreed. We repeated the process, but this time she used a darker color and it still turned out to be red. I didn't want to say anything to her the second time around because it was already almost 9 pm. She then told me that my hair would cost $190 instead of the $145 that she had mentioned to me prior. I hesitated, but I ended up paying her for her service. I went home and looked in the mirror and it definitely looked darker, but it was just a really dark burgundy. The next morning I woke up and my hair turned purple. I called the owner of the hair salon and it turns out that she fired Maria two weeks ago but still let her in the salon to do my hair. Neither of them are willing to refund me my money. The salon owner offered to fix my hair for free, but I told her I already got it fixed because I have to go to work and I can't show up with purple hair. Therefore, I ended up paying another salon to do the color correction for $100. So $300 later I finally have what I want, but it's unfortunate that I had to pay that much money in order to achieve my goal. I told the owner that it was her responsibility to refund me my money since Maria was denying me the refund. I also told both of them that I did not want the full amount of money back, I would've been satisfied with a portion of it or even half of it. Kristal should be held responsible for who she allows to rent a station in her salon regardless if she was fired or not. I understand Maria is an independent contractor and was renting a station from glam salon, but since she is not willing to be professional in cordial then the next step would be having glam be held responsible.I am very disappointed and very upset about this entire situation and how unprofessional these women are. I do not recommend going to the salon at all however, Lavina does an excellent job and I would see her if you do go to the salon. If I could give the salon no stars I would.
