My daughter chose the Lil' Miss Positive Package. It's supposed to be for 3-5 year olds, but that's what the birthday girl wanted and the spa didn't try to up sell me on the package. We went for a straight package and didn't add loot bags or bath bombs or the candy bar. At $299 for six girls, plus $29 for each girl the price is very reasonable for what is included. It was a two hour party. After arriving and putting on flip flops, the girls were taken to the back where tables were set up for eating. They started with pizza (which was delivered by Pizza-Pizza at our scheduled start time). Pizza was followed by a "pink toast" which had everyone saying something nice about the birthday girl and then the birthday girl said something nice about her friends, then they toasted. After they were done eating everyone got a cupcake and they sang a special Happy Birthday song, Glama Gals style. After eating each girl put on a plush spa robe to get their mini-pedicures done. This involved spraying their feet with glitter water and then a mini-foot massage with "birthday cake" scented lotion. After the massage they had their toe nails filed and painted with colours of their choice. They all read teen magazines and chatted while getting their toes done, it was so funny to see them. Even my big girl's little sister who is 3 was able to completely take part. After the mini-pedicure the girls moved to the nail bar for a mini-manicure. They had their hands sprayed with glitter water and massaged with the same lotion used on their feet. Their nails were filed and painted with colours of their choice. After the mini-manicure the girls put on pink too-toos and had glitter eye shadow and lip gloss put on. This was followed by a fashion show, with posing, to a song they chose. The fashion show was followed by a Glam Wish Ceremony in which they recited an oath basically promising to be nice to their friends and obey their parents. To seal the promise they were sprinkled with glitter. After this the girls got to sign their names on the signature wall. To wind everything down the girls sat down, the lights were turned down low, and relaxing music was put on while a cucumber mist was sprayed on their face. They let that soak in for a minute and they they got up and stretched. They made a sort of conga line and everyone gave each other a little massage. VIP cards were given out to each girl so they can keep track of how many times they've been to the spa; every five stamps entitles you to a free mini-mani and swag treat. They gave me the leftover pizza, which may sound like a given but I've been to other party places where they don't give you the leftovers, and they give you a really hard time if you eat an extra slice. Meaning they keep the pizza all day for the following parties. Pizza that has been on the table and touched by other people, yuck! Not so with Glama Gals, you get a fresh pizza for your party. Our party was six girls and the pizza would have fed each girl two slices and we still would have had leftovers. As it was the slices were quite large so no one had more than one slice, only one girl ate a whole slice. As we were leaving I was handed a Thank-You card that entitles my daughter to a free mini manicure. That was a really nice touch. Not only did the girls have a great time but the ladies working there obviously enjoy their job. They were so friendly and patient, especially when the girls kept changing their minds about which colour polishes they wanted. The place is small so when they say it's a drop off party, they mean it. Party start times are the same as end times so when we got there, there was a party leaving and it was a little crowded at the entrance. But, it was ok, I understand that time is money and having time where the place is empty isn't efficient. That being said, they only have one party at a time so you aren't sharing the space with anyone else, which makes it much easier to keep track of everyone. I would absolutely go back and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Glama Gals to friends and family. They have event nights too, so check out their website. See the end of the review for an update. I just took my daughter to Glama Gal for her birthday. This was her first "spa" experience. When I called to set up the appointment I was told that they have a mommy & daughter package, and both would get a manicure and a pedicure, but that they don't cut out the dead skin around the nail and that they use the OPI nail polish (which is generally good quality). We would also get a photo to take home. In addition to that I ordered a craft - my daughter would get to make her own lipgloss or lipstick to take home. The cost for the package was $45 for each person (didn't matter whether adult or child), and the cost for the craft was $10. When we showed up for the day we were greeted and got crocs for our feet and spa robes to put on over our clothes. The salon looks pretty nice if you don't pay close attention to the paint job. Fairly pleasant overall. However, one thing that I noticed right away was that there were no manicure tables or pedicure chairs. I thought that it was odd, but figured that it would work somehow. We got to go into a small room and pick out some bath fizzies that would go into the soaking water. We also got vanilla ice cream to eat during out pedicures. This was the end of the good part. The pedicures were received with us sitting on a couch. My daughter had to have a bunch of pillows behind her, as she wasn't tall enough to sit comfortably. Our feet got to soak in 2 large bowls (definitely not large enough for adult feet). The nailpolish that I had on my feet was left on during the soak, and the soak itself took about 2 minutes. There was no nail cutting, no cuticle cutting (that I was aware of, from the phone conversation, but I did expect to have the rest of the pedicure/manicure). A bit of filing with the cheapest, harshest nailfile you could find. The nailpolish was old (even though it was OPI brand), and I had to ask them to put thinner into it, so it would go on the nails in some acceptable manner. We had 1 person do everything, which meant a wait for one of us at all times. When the pedicures were done we went over to a bar where they apparently do manicures (as opposed to regular tables). The chairs at the bar were regular, so again, my daughter couldn't reach. I found this odd, as the place says that they serve children from the age of 6. She had to get a chair from the person who was doing the manicure, just so she could put her hands up on the bar. The person doing the manicures/pedicures had no clue what she was supposed to do beyond just painting nails. She said that she had 1 year of experience in this place, but didn't study for this. She was unable to cover the whole nail or to make the nailpolish go on smoothly (this might have been just the crappy polish). The photo that was printed had two huge finger smudges on it, and had to be redone. Also, no nail dryers available at all, making it much harder for the polish to dry, especially on the hands of children. I would definitely NOT recommend this place beyond a one time shot for a child, for the "general feeling". The manicures and pedicures were atrocious, and even though we spent 1.5 hours at the "spa", our nails were still getting smudged when we came home another hour later. This is too expensive for just the experience. If they got some real manicurists, this place would make sense, otherwise - don't bother. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jan 5, 2012 UPDATE - I just received a phone call from the owner. She was very pleasant, and appologized profusely for what happened. Apparently, she was away due to a family emergency during the time of our appointment, and was not able to oversee her business. She seemed very interested in improving it, and offered me a refund and a chance to try them again. She also explained some things - she said that the steel bowls are easier to disinfect due to not having jets, and that they have a smaller table for manicures that they should have used. Also, they should have put a quick drying coat on top of our nailpolish, which they didn't do. Finally, she said that they have 3 esthetitians, but the one who was supposed to be working that day called in sick. I believe that the owner truly cares about her business and is sincere about improving it. The fact that she is able to acknowledge mistakes and work on them is already more than what 99% of business owners are able to do. 5 stars for the owner, and her personal service. I guess it may we worth a try if the owner is there, as well as an esthetitian. read more

I have once again visited glama gals what can I say!! My kids love it here my youngest Lexi had a birthday party here over the weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was incredible and so inspiring for my young daughter and her friends. They received manis and pedis and we're allowed to relax and sip on some pink lemonade! My 11 year old daughter had a Spa party with 10 of her friends. We chose the Mani- Pedi experience with a facial done in the Party Room. The girls all raved about their experience. Cool music and really fun and friendly workers there. They all looked so cute with their Spa robes on getting their nails done. They all picked out their colours they wanted to use. Top coat used to finish. I did read the previous review and it would seem any issues Glama Gals had back in 2011 were taken care of now. The girls enjoyed some pizza and fun games. I decided to make use of the Loot bags to send home with the girls and it made it so much easier and the kids loves them. Thank you for the great party for my daughter. I just took my 3 neices to Glama Gal - their Vaughan location - The girls (and I) had a total blast! I had called in advance to book and the girl on the phone was a doll! She answered all of my questions and gave me a whole bunch of options to choose from. In the end I went with Spa Diva package. We arrived for our appointment and I was floored. The place looks fantastic!! Bright pink walls, huge couch chairs it was amazing! The girls loooved it! The girls just loved thier mani and pedi - especially becuase they got to choose their own fizzies for thier water and a colour for their pedi and mani - and all the colours were OPI! Their eyes just about jumped out of thier heads when they got ice cream while they were getting thier pedicure - these Ladies know what they are doing! The girls then had thier facials - which they also loved - they also got to make their own nail polish which they thought was so cool! At the end of the appointment - we were presented with photos that were taken while they were in the facials - absolutely fantastic! All in all the kids had the most fantastic time and I have Glama Gals to thank! These Ladies are professional but most of all know how to deal with little girls and make them feel beautiful. I would recommend this place to any mother, aunt, grandmother who wants a girly time with thier special girls! I took my daughter to East York location on 19 October 2019. I was told there is no space for parents so I dropped her and watched the lady took her backpack and placed it in the bench. Surprisingly she never brought the bag home and they said it is not there.... so it means your kids belongings can be stolen there like what happened to mine, even though there was a very Precious item in the bag they didn't check their cameras appropriately. YORKDALE LOCATION REVIEW! First off I think the concept is great and all in all my daughter had a great time with her friends which is most important! I purchased the "Be Unique" package which included hairstyle, kids makeup, a bath creation and a mini mani, robe and slipper service an an option of waffles or pizza with cupcakes and mocktails for the kids - seems like a lot for what you pay right? I will break this down into categories so that I don't get my review muddled. Facility - very pretty, nice design and layout and somewhat clean. The children were taken to their table to have their costco waffles with warm cool whip and some pink sugar - mind you I was not expecting anything grand but if I knew the kids would have gotten this I probably would have chosen the pizza option. At least they could have offered canned whipped cream instead of runny cool whip with some colorful sprinkles to dress up the cold waffles a bit or at least warmed up the waffles? I had asked if I could bring my own cake but was told it was not allowed and cupcakes would be provided, the cupcakes were the mini ones you get in the grocery store, I suggest you allow people to bring their own birthday cakes, kids want to feel special on their birthday and mini cupcakes from the grocery store doesn't quite cut in in my opinion. I would have been more than happy to purchase my own cake/cupcakes. Robe & Slipper service - Robes are not washed after use, they are hung after the children wear it and given to the next party, kids are clean in general but some of the robes looked a little dirty and was a bit off putting. My daughter was given her slippers last and the host could not locate her appropriate size so she settled for a smaller size - not a big deal really but maybe the host can pay some special attention to the birthday girl and perhaps fit her first? Mini Hairdo with kids makeup - Was not expecting a salon do by any means but was not expecting what was provided either; there were 2 attendants to 9 girls and 8 salon chairs so 1 of the girls sat out. I spent a good 30 minutes curling my daughters hair for the party only for the attendant to mess up her perfectly nice hair with a god awful excuse for a mini style. None of the kids got anything remotely nice done to their hair but they were given complimentary headbands which were cute. With so many items in the package the attendants seemed like they were rushing just to get through the steps and quality was not of any importance. Very hard to coordinate nine 9 year olds if you don't know what you are doing! Mini creation - all of the girls opted to do the cotton candy perfume, only to be disappointed that there were no bottle caps and were asked to switch, but alas someone managed to dig up some bottles and bottle caps in the back which varied in size... some of the girls could not have their bottles filled because the bottle was too big and would not be fair to the girls who had smaller bottles? This is ridiculous - could you not check your inventory before you book parties to ensure you have everything? Also how could you offer a larger half filled bottle? It's not the girls fault you don't have inventory for this stuff. It was so cheap and embarrassing I can't image how the girls recounted this to their parents. Please check your stocks before you offer something maybe you could have sold the lotion to the girls and omitted mentioning the perfume if you knew you did not have supplies? Mini mani - I did not take pictures of my daughters nails but it was quite horrible, they really just painted her nails but it was not even painted properly or evenly, my 9 year old could do a better paint job on herself...SERIOUSLY! They painted parts of her skin/cuticle and di not pain her entire nail for some...a real mess. Service - This was a major let down. Such a nice concept, maybe there are too may things crammed into packages for the attendants to manage so the quality of the services are crappy? Please focus more on quality vs quantity. As a parent you want to know your child is given the best and though she had fun with her friends they all complained about the snacks, the way their nails were horribly painted and some did not even get their hair/makeup done because it was so rushed and they did not have any control over the girls. However the girl at the front desk was very nice I should mention. Booking the party via email/phone was very easy and convenient and I did not have any issues in this regard. I did opt to purchase 9 gifts for the girls from their store vs the loot bag option as the stuff from the wall appeared very cheap and I thought purchasing a nail kit present from the store for around a similar price to be a better option. I would definitely not recommend this place and think my 2 stars is a bit generous but this is a really great concept, too bad they have people working for them that really have no clue! read more

I am a single mother of two girls. They had heard about Glama Gal Tween spa from a child at school. They wanted to check it out so i did what moms do and read up on this place. I came across the negative review provided on this site and because of it I was sceptical of taking my children there. I am a bit of a clean freak and the reviewer made it sound like a bit of a dump. I went with my gut and decided to call anyhow. Am I happy i did. The "host" on the phone was really kind and patient with me. She went through all the steps, explained their products and how they are "nut aware". I was pleasently surprised. I booked an appointment for me and my two girls. When we showed up I was amazed. Yes, there are a few things they need to do for upgrading, however, I was told this was their first location and they do have plans to update it. Being a neat freak myself i have to admit that there were so many amazing things to look at that really the small paint chips or dent in a wall weren't even on my mind. My kids never noticed and so the reality is, it made no difference. What did make a difference was the way the host dealt with us. She was in the front to greet us and not only did she know my name (being the one to pay for the service) but she knew the names of both my girls. It was a small gesture but one that right away made my girls feel amazing. We had the mani's and pedi's which I felt were great. Their bowls fit my size 10 feet just fine and the entire time the host was engaging my kids in conversation. She even got my shy daughter to sing "Let it go" which to be honest melted my heart. I'm starting to rant and so I will wrap this up. I just thought it was necessary to share my experience because I was so turned off before and now I am a true believer. From start to finish this spa for girls is amazing. I don't think anyone can do what they do. The owners have really paid so much attention to detail. My kids had a fantastic time and we left there having booked both their birthday parties. The staff were super friendly and you could just tell they loved what they were doing and interacting with children. During the winter break my daughter and I visited the Glama Gal Spa for tweens and teens! My daughter is 12 years old and I thought this would be the perfect bonding time together. We chose to do a "mom and me package'! When we got to the spa we were greeted by a friendly staff and we were given spa slippers and robes. As we were walking in the spa both me and my daughter were shocked on how nicely decorated and child friendly this spa is. After a few minutes we were taken into an ice cream room where we got to chose ice cream flavoured soap's and the selection of flavours was amazing! We both picked our nail polish colours and probably spent a good 8-10 minutes trying to decide what colour to do because the selection of colours was just great and they had all the newest O.P.I collections. We then sat on high heel shoes which were adorable! We started off with our pedicures and during them we were served real ice cream for the two of us to enjoy. After pedicures we sat @ a manicure bar where we did our manicures (which were also ice cream flavoured!!!). Before we left we took home a photo keep sake which was just a great way to remember this mother daughter experience at the spa! As we were leaving the spa and were finished our services my daughter told me that she wanted to have her birthday party here and right there we booked it and my daughter was just thrilled! This day at the spa was made so memorable by the wonderful professional staff working at Glama gals, the great services we enjoyed and the cleanliness of the spa. This spa is a must see and I can guarantee your day at this spa will be great and memorable as mine was with my daughter! It was very disappointing!! I took my 11 year daughter to celebrate her birthday with a friend and was under the impression that they will do something special- the service was mediocre, our hostess was disengaged.. They don't even bother cleaning or fining the nails, they just cover it with nail polish and it is not even professionally done - by the time we left, it was ruined already. I recently just took my niece to Glama gal for her birthday party. She and her friends got the pleasure of enjoying one of the many packages that the Tween Spa offers. The experience that the girls and myself had was amazing. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. There interaction with the girls was great and the girls were happy throughout the entire party. The girls loved the Spakery Mani's and Pedi's as they were also excited to receive ice cream during this service. The other services that the girls engaged in, such as Glam Labs, where they got to create their own lip gloss and perfume was awesome! The staff took the time to explain to the girls what to do and how to do it! The atmosphere of the spa was also beautiful and perfectly themed for the girls. Throughout the duration of the party they were in their element. Overall, I would definitely recommend having your daughters birthday at Glama gal Tween spa. I just had my daughters birthday party there. I chose to do a mani/pedi for each of them, with was $60.00 + tax + tip per person. On the quite expensive side, but I thought ok....it's my daughters birthday and it's the experience I am paying for. To start with, the facility is quite cute and I thought it was lovely! Upon arrival, they got a cupcake & drink. The cupcakes are those 2 bite cupcakes you get from the grocery store in the clear plastic trays. The girls also got robes to put on which was cute. This was all OK. What disappointed me was the quality of the mani/pedis. They basically consisted of a quick soak for the hands and feet in stainless bowls with a bath bomb of the child's choice, and then nail polish. There was no clean up of the nails (cleaning under nails, triming of hangnails/loose skin etc.) what so ever. A couple of the girls had visible black dirt under their nails, even after the 2-minute soak. When I pointed out that some nail cleaning was clearly needed, it was ignored and the nail polish was just applied. Seriously! What kind of mani/pedi is this?? The paint job was also terrible. My daughter could have done a better job herself. Just my thoughts, as I could have taken them to a regular nail place for half the price and gotten a way better job done. I brought my twin daughters to Glama Gal Tween Spa and Party Studio as part of a special day I had planned for their 4th birthday and it was fantastic. My daughters were pampered and enjoyed every minute of it from the birthday cupcake they received upon arriving to the final confidence building bracelet upon leaving. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The spa was fun and colorful and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. My girls had a fabulous time which in turn made me very happy. I had my daughter's 7th birthday at Glama Gals. She has been asking to have a party here for the past few years, but I felt that this age was perfect for her. What an experience. From the moment you walk into the doors until the moment you leave, the experience was incredible. My daughter felt so special. I just returned from an afternoon visit to Glama Gal, tween spa-- I took my two nieces to get a manicure and pedicure. The staff was so helpful and knowledgable. They interacted with both my nieces (one niece 7 years old, the other 11 years old). In the short time that my nieces were there, they developed a rapport with the staff. They were treaded to a personal welcome from the staff, were given bathrobes and were made to feel special. They got to choose their own nail polish and scented soap scrub from a wide selection on hand. In addition to the spa treatments, the girls took part in a spa-related craft.--they got to make their very own ice-cream flavoured lip-gloss and foot scrub in a theme-based room set up like a ice-cream shop, which the girls thought was very cool. The spa was very clean and the facilities were up-to-date with everything you can imagine (and more) in a tween spa. What sets this tween spa apart from the others that I have heard of is the personal touch and genuine care that the staff provided. My nieces were a little shy at first, but shortly after they felt at ease and were reluctant to leave. On the car ride home, they asked: "when can we go back?" I will definitely return in the near future. Thanks again to the great staff at "Glama Gal" who made the first spa experience of two little girls a memorable one! read more
