These guys don't understand the business they are in. My wife booked me a surprise massage for my birthday, thus I was late by 10 minutes to the appointment. Waited another 5 minutes for the receptionist on the other building (they have two) just to learn the massage was on the other one. I was let know my service will be cut short. I declined the service as my entire mood was lost. They went ahead and charged my card. Have been going there for the last couple of years, but never again. Hope you will not either. read more

I want to give 5 stars however, the front desk lady was quite rude. I booked facials for my sister and I as it was her birthday. We were late for our appointment because we got a bit lost, when the front desk lady called, she asked if I forgot about the appointment. I said no and proceeded to apologize as we got lost and we were just parking. Once we got inside, she scolded us again for being late and I understand we were late however, I felt she could have handled the situation differently. Afterwards we proceeded to the lounge, it was quite cozy as there was a fireplace. Our technicians came out and greeted us, they were super friendly and professional. We asked for peels however, after examining our skin they said it was an unnecessary treatment for us. I really liked that they did this because it shows that they take their profession quite seriously and they are not in it to profit off of people and just perform a treatment when your skin doesn't need it. They were quite thorough and gentle. Overall, I will definitely be back as the technicians made the experience worth it. They were kind and treated us well even though we were late and inconvenienced them. read more

I can't say enough great things about this spa! My bridal party chose Sanctuary Day Spa for the "recovery" part of my bachelorette party. We absolutely loved it. I had a facial and a massage and both were excellent. My sister, who has chronic back pain, described her massage as the best she ever had. I also want to emphasize how amazing the staff was. Before our party, the spa staff asked if we wanted to drop off decorations. When we arrived, they had completely decorated the lounge with our bachelorette-themed items. They had put out food and drinks as well, at no additional charge to us, and had laid out fluffy white robes for each member of our party. Even after we had finished our treatments, we were invited to spend more time at the spa - there was no rush for us to leave and we enjoyed the lounge! The staff were friendly, efficient, and easily managed a large party with various treatments. Before leaving, my sister and I decided that we want to spend the day before the wedding here. I had no idea what to expect when I was walking in here. I was welcome by very friendly staff. They have a cozy waiting lounge. My friends highly recommend this place for laser hair removal treatment. If you are reading this now they have a buy 3 sessions get 3 session free until the end of February! After receiving a phone call from manager to apologize for their mix up, we decided to give them a second chance. Unfortunately we don't remember the names of the RMTs but they were both very lovely. The 'spa' itself is what you'd expect for a place in Vaughan. The heated massage beds were a nice added touch but the freezing cold floors we could do without. I visited the Sanctuary Day Spa for a facial last month and I was extremely disappointed. Having problematic skin, I informed the lady that I did not want an invasive facial, whereby there would be any picking. Even though I was firm about this, she proceeded to pick on my face, resulting in redness and bumps upon my departure....lasting for three days. I will NEVER go back here for a facial. If you do plan on visiting, be sure to emphasize and repeat your concerns several times to ensure that this does not happen to you. read more

I've been to quite a lot of spas around town. This one takes the cake! I didn't really expect much, as it was located near Vaughan Mills - I actually thought it was more of a retail spa, where they get you in and out ASAP. I was so wrong! The spa was beautiful - so calm and relaxing. We were walked to the waiting area and offered water, while our therapists were getting ready. The waiting area was so relaxing and cozy, I didn't even want to leave my chair for my appointment! My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage, and it was by far one of the best massages we have ever had! It was so relaxing, and the two therapists we had were amazing and very professional. At the end of our massage, they offered us two type of flavoured water and made sure that we were both feeling ok - I was very surprised that they took the extra time to talk to us and made sure that we were ok... Most of the spas I've been are very rushed - it's literally in and out. The customer service here is just absolutely amazing. I felt pampered from the minute I walked in, until the minute I walked out. I would HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

Friday afternoon treat at the Spa with a luxury manicure and pedicure. Arrived at the spa and was immediately taken to the pedicure room to begin my treat. Everything in the room was pristine, the staff very professional and friendly. Nina was lovely and we struck up a great conversation. My chair came with a remote control to adjust the massage feature. Felt great. After a wonderful foot and and lower leg massage I felt very relaxed. Nina walked me over to the Manicure room were I selected my nail colour and the second half of my treat began. Once finished I had to take a picture of how pretty my nails looked. For some reason my polish chipped on the corners of a few nails. I called the Spa and they booked an appointment for me to come back in. My polish change was applied by Irene. She even treated me to a hand massage. Great customer service, friendly staff. Easily accessible from the main road. The Spa offers a full range of services both medical and Aesthetic. Place is very clean and reminds me for the European spa. I went for a massage with a back pain and a Russian lady gave me very good and strong Massage as she checked on me every 5 minutes to make sure she is not too hard. Please note I'm used to strong touch and i was happy, but if you are not that kind of person-just let them know. Also, she used great technique with hot towels which really refreshed me. After working 2 long, overnight shifts on my feet (which I don't typically do), my body was extremely tense and sore. Sanctuary was able to squeeze me in for a 1-hr massage appt on the same day. The spa itself was very clean and the rooms had a warm, welcoming, and calm feel. The RMT who took care of me, Denise, was very gentle and kind. She asked where I'd like her to focus most on (my neck and back). Half way through the massage, I realized I needed work on my feet. Denise happily accommodated to my needs and applied the perfect amount of pressure to get those knots and tense muscles out. Overall, I would definitely come back to this spa however only every once in a while as it was a bit costly. Worth it though! read more

I received a luxury pedicure at Sanctuary yesterday. I love this place, but I won't be back. The aesthetician who did my pedicure was sweet and gentle. She wad knowledgeable and helpful. However, the receptionist I talked to today was quite rude. I called to offer feedback and let them know that I was dissatisfied with my pedicure, because today I noticed that the polish had already chipped the day after the pedicure. This happens, no biggie. I paid for a luxury pedicure though, and I told the receptionist that I wasn't happy and her response was horrible. She offered to get me in for a fix this week. I am a busy mom. Finding time to come in for my pedicure was very difficult. I'm not able to go in for a fix. I actually had to order nail polish tonight so I can fix it myself. I asked if perhaps they could put some kind of a note or some kind of a discount on my account for next time I come in. She offered to put me in for a fix the following week. I again reiterated that it is very difficult for me to make appointments because I have a young child and a fix next week won't change that I have to fix it myself this week. She didn't seem to care. I also mentioned that I wasn't comfortable, because when I had booked my appointment and confirmed my appointment, I specifically asked what Covid protocol was in place at the spa. I specifically asked if all attendants would be wearing masks. I was told YES they would be. To my surprise when I arrived not one employee was wearing a mask. I am immune compromised, and I rarely go to establishments that don't have a mask policy in place. That's why I specifically asked. I was told that the rules changed on Thursday. Great, however, why wasn't I notified of that when I asked during my confirmation phone call? Also businesses that care about their clients usually send an email to their clients letting them know that Covid protocols have changed. I did not receive that email. Furthermore, the receptionist that cashed me out had a very obvious cold. So much so that she could barely speak and had to dart behind a privacy screen at the desk to try and compose herself. She was visibly congested. I didn't say anything at the time of my visit because, I didnt want to complain, but the attitude I got today was the last straw. I asked if I could speak with the manager, and I'm waiting for a callback. I will update this review if the manager calls back and makes things right with me; however, as it stands, I will not be going back to Sancturary Spa which is a shame. You would think businesses would care about keeping clients.... apparently not. read more

Sanctuary Day Spa (Vaughan) - I arrived early to my massage and was told to have a seat in the waiting area. My appointment was scheduled for 10 AM. At approximately 10:15 I thought to myself the masseuse must be running a little late. More time passes and it is now 10:30 and no one has checked on me. I am not one to complain so I simply approach the receptionist who was shocked to see that I was still not called in by my masseuse. After 45 minutes of waiting the staff frantically search for my masseuse. Getting more and more impatient I ask what the problem is - I was told that my masseuse was 'missing'. The receptionist who was actually very kind, informs me that there is nothing she can do for me and asks if I would like to reschedule. I decline and leave the facility EXTREMELY upset as I just spent almost an hour waiting for a massage that I would not get. Shortly after 11:00 the receptionist calls me back and asks if I would like to come in for an 11:30 appointment. Being super stressed and upset I agree and return to the spa for my massage. When it is time to check out I am charged FULL price ($100 +) for my massage. All in all a lesson learned, I will NEVER return to Sanctuary Day Spa. read more

Went for a shellac manicure and the manicurist was a nice pleasant lady but for a $60 ( tax and tip) shellac I expected a lot more. My manicure was far from perfect and once I got home and got a good look at my nails, I was very disappointed. Tips not done properly and sides still show the nail. I get a better, almost perfect, shellac at this other nail salon on Dufferin and Major Mac for $30!! And they even give you a shoulder massage (5 mins) at the end. I will not return to Sanctuary and will not recommend it to anyone for shellac manicure. :( read more

I've been to Sanctuary 4 times now. I always go for a 60 minute massage and a facial. The first time was just ok. Second time was very disappointing. The last two visits were great. Your experience definitely depends on who does the procedure. Peter gave the most wonderful RMT massage and Yelena gave me a wonderful facial that was very relaxing. This is my third time at the Woodbridge location and all I have to say is that I am not impressed!! I can only comment on the massage therapy treatments as I have not tried any other services. But the RMT 's are average at best. Their techniques lack skill, I could have had my husband provide a better treatment. This Rmt I had last, did the same 3 techniques over and over, it made me feel nauseous and The room was so cold, my hands and feet were numb. I don't think I will return. read more

Booked a whole extensive couples spa day for our anniversary 2 months ago. Cancelled the morning of. 38 weeks pregnant, last opportunity to have a nice relaxing day together before baby arrives. Made many arrangements for our 3 year old to be watched by my parents. Stuck at home now on a rainy day and everywhere else is booked. If clients get charged for less than 24 hour cancellation, so should services. read more

I received a spa voucher for my birthday, I used it 3 times - 2 out of the 3 was a utter disaster. Very disappointing! 1st time was for a massage - the guy could not stop talking! And he was way too soft. 2nd time I thought let me book a facial instead - maybe there facials are better than there massages... it was wonderful! A blonde European lady was excellent, it was the best facial I had ever had. Today I went for another facial..... It was terrible, this young lady spent more time rubbing lotion on my arms and rubbing my scalp then on my face. She did very little extracting and left the room for 10min while my mask was on. When she got back I had all my things and left with everything still on my face, $110 down the drain. This place is not consistent at all and I will not recommend it to anyone. read more

I've also been to the newmarket location and this one is better. The only issue is the price, there services are expensive for what you get compared to other spas. read more
