I purchased a groupon for Glamour Shots which included one pose/one child for $18. I came with my other child which you can do for an additional $10 (sitting fee.) I found the place fairly easy. They have a small parking lot which is a plus. Met with Cara who was really friendly and did the actual shoot. I wanted my children together in the pose, but she took ones of them separately in case you want to purchase additional ones. If you purchase anything additional, its $69 each or 5 poses for $149. I had it in the back of my mind...Dont but anything, but after I saw how cute my babies looked I had to. Their only little once right? I got my pictures the same day (a few hours later) and was very pleased. I will be booking a family shoot in the near future. P.S. They do hair and makeup as well. The Glamour Shots from the Staten Island mall was moved to some remote location in Staten Island. It took us forever an a day to get there while the driver made sure to hit every single darn potholes on the way to Glamour Shots. My daughter loved Nichole (Photographer), she was awesome, actually all the girls are great. I decided to go because I bought a "coupon" to take pictures of my little girl and me and since hair and makeup was included I thought it was a bargain until it was time to choose what pictures you want at $39.99 per page plus additional if you wanted touch ups, the offer included a already touched up picture 10x13 but we had to pay for the rest at $39.99 the page, also when they advertise you are getting a cd with the pictures of your session what you get is like a music montage with your pictures. You can't look at them individually or reorder pictures from it. You have 2 choices in hair "straight" with a flat iron or "wavy" "curly" with a curling iron, if you have difficult hair or if you want something special get it done before arriving to your appointment. Offer or no offer Glamour shots is not the place for family pictures, is good if you want a "makeover" session and you want to look hot and sexy. The backgrounds and props are very limited, you don't have much to choose from and if I would have known this I would have let the the promo go to waste. The only thing I enjoyed and made everything worth it was to see my daughter come to life, she also allowed some blush and lipgloss (she doesn't like makeup but then again she is only 5). She really enjoyed the session... After reading the other reviews I felt cheated, maybe it was because it was the last appointment on a Saturday. It would have been great if there was 2 people in charge of hair but there was only one and I have lots of hair, at the end my daughters hair looked nice but the process was rushed. I know I had told them we had a driver pick us up at a specific time and I wanted a quick session but if we would have had 2 hair stylists it would have been great, my daughter and I had a few outfits but could only do one, I now believe if we had had the two people doing hair we could have done at least an extra change. I hate leaving such an awful review but for what they charge per page and the mandatory $50 deposit to save the date, they discount out of your total but if you can't make it you loose your deposit. Since I didn't call back to schedule the date, I got a call back the day before and was asked only for $20, so in reality I don't know if it is $50 or $20. read more

I love Glamour Shots. I have used the SI location twice. The girls are amazing and make you feel at ease. We just did my daughter's 1st bday/cake smash photo shoot and they were all so accommodating to her needs and when she needed a break. Once again I love that it is a one stop shop where you can get your hair and makeup done instead of going to a salon first and then to the studio. That alone is worth it and will make me a life long customer. read more

Cara is an AMAZING makeup artist! My experience with her from start to finish was one of the best I've ever had - she is quick to respond via email, accommodating and incredibly skilled and talented. She traveled to my home in NJ for makeup for a Sweet 16, and I was even able to add on makeup for my best friend the night before the event. She did all of our faces and lashes, using great products that lasted all day and night. Cara was exceptionally kind and fun to chat with - my niece does not typically wear makeup and she had an amazing experience with Cara and walked away feeling incredibly confident and beautiful. this place is a joke, the dresses for the kids are old and wrinkled. The best part is you purchase your package and then wait 2 weeks for them to explain to you that your pictures depending on the package you choose will be send out to you as a email and you can print them out yourself are you kidding me....i would never recommend this place Horrible... read more

I had a great experience at Glamour Shots in Staten Island. I was a little nervous with it being a boudoir photo shoot, but the girls made me feel very comfortable and I loved that a time slot was blocked off just for me so other clients would not be coming in during that time. Cara did my make up wonderfully for the shoot; I typically do not wear make up, but she did just enough to make it look natural and to come out great in the photos. Heather did my hair and listened to exactly what I wanted. I have very curly hair, so I came prepared with it blown out, so she just had to do a simple styling. Alissa was the photographer and she made me feel comfortable during the session, and did a great job with setting up my poses and lighting. The area where you are photographed does not look like much, it is basically curtains hanging from the ceiling. But once Alissa edited the photos, they looked amazing. The photos surpassed my expectations, which is a good thing but also means I ended up spending more than anticipated!! I had bought a Groupon for $19 that included 1-8x10 photo, CD of your photos with music (watermarked so you cannot reproduce), hair & make up, which is a great deal. However, I can say my only negative to this experience was the pricing of the additional photos. I purchased a package of 3-5x7 photos, a small book of the image collection in case I wanted to order more and the CD as I had mentioned and it cost just over $300. I had a great experience and do not regret this at all especially since this is not something I do often, but just be aware it is not cheap. This was one of the cheapest packages you could get and it wasn't so easy narrowing down to the total 4 photos including the one included in the Groupon. As long as you know this going in, go for it!!! I would definitely recommend. read more
