I've utilized Bob's services as a highly regarded professional photographer for at least the last…read moreseveral decades, and have found him to be an invaluable resource. Initially, I contacted him about "touching up" photos I had taken, and he suggested someone else might be able to do the same thing for less money than he would. For me, that established his honesty and integrity. When the services of that "someone else" proved less than ideal, Bob agreed to take on the job, and that established his talents and superlative abilities as a photographer. On my 1st visit, he was taking "head shots" for one of the actors on the TV series "Oz." Subsequently, I learned that his work has appeared in publications such as NJ Monthly, on billboards, and other professional periodicals and advertisements. I was more than happy with the work he did for me, his prices were fair, and I've been utilizing his services from that time until the present day, and hopefully into the future. One of the services he rendered for me came about because of my status as an adopted person. In 2004, my birth mother was able to locate me, and I was able to establish a relationship with my genetic family (I was born during the days when adoptions were invariably "closed adoptions," so the fact that she was able to find out who I was constituted a real accomplishment). Family members that I met were nice enough to let me borrow old family photos, and Bob was able to produce perfect copies for me (I'll try to include some of the images with this review). A friend of mine from Jamaica had an old, old photo of her grandparents that was deteriorating, and she dreaded the idea that the only image of her progenitors might disappear entirely. Bob was able to restore it to a pristine condition, and it now hangs in an honored place in her home. Bob's skills cover the spectrum from old-style 35mm photography to more "cutting edge" and up-to-date technology. When I fancied myself an amateur photographer, Bob was more than helpful and patient with advice (he was particularly helpful in overcoming my incomprehension about how to use a "gray card" and aperture speed). Some years ago, the Catskills home of my "childhood hero" (and I'm confessing this with more than a little embarrassment; in my adulthood, I view this "hero" as a fascinating but psychopathic and murderous historical figure-- I recommend the fact-based novel "Legs" by Pulitzer Prize winning author William Kennedy) Jack "Legs" Diamond, a charismatic but deadly Irish mobster active during Prohibition who was nicknamed "The Clay Pigeon" for the number of times he was shot and survived, was for sale. The "estate" looked almost exactly as it had in 1931, when Legs was finally killed in nearby Albany. A friend of mine was able to secure a tour for us of the home and was able to document in on film, with the intention that we would "immortalize" it onto DVD (although I didn't want to necessarily "immortalize" my "gushing fan's" reaction as I strolled through the same hallways once tenanted by Legs, his wife Alice, and his mistress Kiki Roberts). Unfortunately, my friend had been diminished by decades of drugs/drink (he's sober now) and was unable to transfer the film to DVD, and by the time he came to this awareness, it seemed that too much time had passed for anyone else to successfully accomplish it. Ah, well...at least I had the memory! However, I mentioned it in passing to Bob. One of the services Bob doesn't provide it transferring film to DVD, but he knew someone who could, and now I have the DVD documenting the Catskills visit among my prized possessions. Again, not one of the services Bob provides, but he went above and beyond. In short (after the long review), Bob is a skilled and talented professional doing quality work, and he charges reasonable rates. In addition, he's a genuinely nice guy. What more could you ask for from a photographer?
