I had to go by there place of business (don't try to call, they never call back) several times to check on where I was on there list. Early March I was told I was fourth in line, but when I checked in again at the end of April they discovered my paperwork was misplaced. I tried again last Friday, spoke to a girl, she said she would have someone call me. NOPE! Stopped by two more times. FINALLY, the manager calls me this morning. Just to inform me, THEY ARE NO LONGER TAKING NEW BUSINESS AT THIS TIME! I've been waiting since Jan 11 (the date is on my estimate paperwork!) The owner has informed his staff to notify me they are not going to give me an estimate nor repair my window. I am to find someone else!!

No response. Called them again a few days later and was told my information was on someone's desk and they would call me to arrange to come out to see the job and give me an estimate. Again nothing. If they blow people off for small jobs like fixing a broken window why would I consider them for large jobs like upgrading all my windows at my home or glass jobs at my business?

Freddie was prompt on every appointment and respected deadlines. The installer was extra critical of his work and took pride in making a difficult project look absolutely perfect. Chris come out and checked our windows and gave me a decent price. But that was where the good service stopped. When I first contacted glass doctors I was told I would have to pay a $75 travel fee. I was happy to do so and I gave Chris a check for the amount after he arrived to check the windows. He even gave me an invoice for the amount and reiterated that the travel fee would be credited to my account when I ordered. Several weeks later I called back and requested Chris return to look at additional windows. Latasha scheduled me for a couple weeks later. 3 days before Chris was set to arrive Latasha called me to reschedule and also to ask me for a deposit on my order. After I explained to her that my order was no longer correct since Chris was coming back, I did not want to put down a deposit until he was finished. She then said I would have to pay a travel fee of $75 which I was fine with again and told her that. At this point she told me I had never paid a travel fee the first time. I assured her that I had and that my bookkeeper had been waiting on the check to clear. I gave her the check number the amount written and the company it was written from. I later received an email back saying Chris waived my travel fee while he was here and he never received a check from me. This was completely untrue. The email went on to say that I needed to have my bank stop the check since it had been over a month. I am assuming she was insinuating I lost my own check. This was completely untrue as I gave it to Chris the day he was here. I emailed her back to let her know how unprofessional this was and for someone from management to please call me to discuss the matter. That was several days ago and I have yet to hear back from anyone. I am blown away at how this was handled, as glass doctors seemed to be a reputable business.

Well my advice is do not single quote them. They quoted $2400 for a job, which I quoted two other…read moreshops. One at $1200, one at $470. The $470 quote did the job as I got good reviews on them. The installed did an A+ job. So this company wanted 5x what the job was worth.

To repair damage from Hurricane Michael, I enlisted Area Glass to replace the glass in five windows…read moreat my home. They gave a 6-10 week lead time for the work to be done, so definitely not a quick process.  After seven weeks, they finally committed to an installation date, but on the day of the installation, they informed me that four of the five window panes could not be installed because they were incorrect sizes. The exact reason for this wasn't very clearly explained, but the fault seemed to be shared by Area Glass and its supplier. Because I was in the process of selling this home, Area Glass's mistake and the resulting delay was very consequential for me, but after informing me of their error, they exhibited no urgency in correcting the issue. They offered a lot of apologies, but it took a great deal of prodding to get them to expedite the process of correcting their mistake. Their agreement said they had 10 weeks to complete the work and that's all they cared about. Ultimately, Area Glass took two months to complete their work and, despite all that time, they screwed up one of the most fundamental parts of the project - ensuring glass of the right size was ordered and delivered.  It's unfortunate we victims of Hurricane Michael are at the mercy of contractors like Area Glass who lack the empathy and willingness to provide high quality service or work.
