I don't know why I never came here sooner! The bartenders are very attentive even when they are busy. They really do make you feel welcome. The place itself is really nice, tastefully decorated, modern, and small without feeling crowded. Great lighting and nice music. Now the best part is by far the drinks! When Glass first opened, I felt that it lacked an identity and was overpriced. Nearly two years later, the classy lounge has really found its footing and is my current favorite cocktail bar downtown. The space is far more attractive than the hideously ugly hotel that it resides in. Shades of blue and (unsurprisingly) lots of glass yield an upscale vibe, with the clientele to match. On weekend nights the bar attracts the Rhum and Sonny's crowd, and is great people watching. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the view outside to Fore Street is even more entertaining. Prices have plummeted since first opening and are a great value. No drink is more than $12, and most are $10-$11. The cocktail menu is extensive, creative, and also very strong. I usually Uber when I come here. I took a long break, but Glass is currently one of my favorite bars downtown. You can reminisce about the 21 year olds across the street while sipping amazing cocktails with the 30 somethings. Highly recommended. read more

Alright, I've been here often enough now that... I get it. And I like it. Glass' identity is supposed to be reminiscent of a sixties and seventies bar. You can come in and: curl up in a dark corner with a sexy-time friend, or enjoy an afternoon networking meeting, or squat at the bar and watch whatever old-time movie is being projected on their wall (which is always entertaining... especially when you catch the odd risqué scene! Even as an adult, I can't help but giggle). Currently, I think a large part of their personality also comes from the Food and Beverage Manager, Josh. Is he intense? Yes. But in the "I'm glad he's on my side" kind of way - and he really is, because an excellent customer experience is at the heart of what he's all about. I'm also a little enamored with Madison, the bartender who seems to always be there. The last time I went in he - after just meeting once - remembered my name and my drink. This might be a tremendously simple thing, but it's an art form that seems lost on many bartenders in this city and makes him a keeper. Swoon. I haven't had the food, but I have had the cocktails. I continue to be in love Snow White's Poison (which I described in my first review as a drink with "white apple-flavored foam that's sweet and delicious with a layer of ginger and jalapeño drink underneath that bites and kisses at the same time"), unfortunately it comes and goes from the menu seasonally. I still think this is one of the best drinks in the city though, even at the $14 price point. I recently tried the Fig Martini, and it was extremely delicious. Not too sweet, and you can't help but take another sip, another sip, another sip to figure out if you're drinking a Fig Newton or a cocktail. Definitely worthy trying because there's nothing like it elsewhere in the city. Lately, I've been coming for a glass of prosecco, which at just $8 is at the same cost - if not cheaper - than many places in town. Yum. Maybe it's cause I'm getting a little older, but I almost tend to think that Glass is a bit of a safe haven in a part of town known for it's weekend drunken debauchery. And yes, they ARE getting outdoor seating - I think a cocktail on Fore Street to people watch sounds like a fine way to spend an afternoon, don't you? read more

Always a fun time at Glass...the atmosphere is awesome. The openness of the space is great, even when it is crowded, the view of the street makes it seem like you have a lot of space. I love that they play older movies on the wall with captions. You think it is weird at first, but realize you just wanted all of Mad Max while putting down a couple specialty drinks. Not a bad night. The staff is very friendly and being connected to the hotel, brings in many different type of guest to the bar, so always a new crowd when you go and visit. They have excellent specialty drinks, so give one a try. read more

Needed a break from being in a food coma, so decided to come here for some drinks before we go and get gelato. We came here and there were only 2 couples hanging out at the bar and another older couple having dinner in the booth. Then came in two men, that clearly were beyond intoxicated and they were making a lot of noises and screaming and another woman came in and sat with them and all of them were slurring their words. The two couples at the bars, all four of them, we guess they might had too much too drink as well. I felt sorry for the older couple and we felt uncomfortable, because we definitely were not at their level of intoxication. The rowdiness of the crowd, when there were only 11 people felt like a crowd of 100. I would have left, but since we just gotten our drinks, I tried to drink my drink as fast as I could. When I looked at the menu, I felt the menu should at least try to be more politically correct. The drink Wong Collins? Contains Bombay Sapphire East Gin, Thai Basil & Lemongrass, Vietnamese Peppercorn, Yuzu, Cucumber, Dry Cucumber Soda - I don't know, I think they should change the name of this drink, because it just doesn't make any sense to me and I would feel they should try to be more p.c. Anyways, I got the Pisco Punch and it was beautiful and delicious. The drinks were good, but I am not sure about the crowd....a bit creepy, so 3 stars. read more

5 stars for SERVICE first and foremost - Eddie was GREAT!! We came with our 10 month old, since we were staying in the hotel and he was AWESOME!! Food was good - get the parmesan and paprika fries!! American graffiti drink was also great! read more

Perfect cocktail bar! Has the finess and atmosphere of a swanky downtown lounge, but with the welcomeness and taste of a business-casual bar. Our waitress was extremely helpful with drink descriptions and SO cheerful. We decided the fig cocktail was our favorite, next in line was the extremely refreshing, watermelon one. I was there with three other girls, and a high top near the bar was perfect for all of us to engage in convo. The drinks were reasonably priced, no more than 12 dollars a piece without getting a little over the top. We didn't try any food, as we had just had dinner down the street. That's certainly next on the list. We'll most definitely be back sooner than later! read more

I just love this place. A great adulting bar to go and get some really yummy cocktails. Tried the Death Star- prosecco, absinthe, melon liqueur, the star anise makes it too licorice-tasting so I fish it out, and tastes fantastic. The espresso martini is really yummy (espresso, dark chocolate vodka) will give you enough energy to keep up the partying. read more

My heart is broken. I used to love this bar, it was one of my favorites and in the last week - 2 Weeks the new managers have completely ruined this bar. Me as well as my whole group of friends would come here for the vibe of movies/ customizable music/ dim chill lighting and especially espresso martinis. They have gotten rid of all of that. Everything that made this bar appealing is gone. The regulars don't even go anymore. What was once a bar that was gaining extreme popularity is now a complete wash. Hopefully they find new management or the managers come to their senses. read more

Glass lounge is a beautiful bar attached to the Hyatt Place hotel! The bar has a great aesthetic and a very personable staff. The staff was attentive and made an effort to interact with the customers. The drink menu was also very eclectic with plenty of fun choices. We came for drinks around 7 and it was a quiet space with only a couple other people around. At first glance, the ambiance of the place is truly well done and relaxing with various glass with lights. There is plenty of seating to hold a variety of groupings. I ended up getting the Rosemary's Baby drink and my husband ordered the Tequila Mockingbird. Both drinks were unique and tasted amazing. Josh (the manager) is great. He's what makes this place worth going, repeatedly. He's sometimes away taking care of other things but he's always working on improving the food and drink menus, which partly means tasty snacks and delicious cocktails, and partly that he really truly pays attention to his customers. No detail is too small, whether the extra welcome sign on the door and nice place mat during a recent Bourbon Walk (none of the other places did that), or going out of his way to listen and make you feel at home. It's the little touches that I appreciate so much - and they are always happy to customize a drink for you. I had a good friend who had her birthday here and everyone had a great night. Related to that, the bar sometimes hosts events that can make it a bit packed in there, but you can still squeeze in at a corner table. Usually it's a fairly quiet, relaxed environment - so stop in sometime, have a Smoking Glass, and say hi from me. read more

There is a great drink menu and if that doesn't do it for you, just tell the bartenders what you like and they'll make something just for you! I got the apple cinnamon drink that tasted like an apple pie! My hubby got the "purple drink" everything was tasty and Fast Eddie made the experience that much better. Josh Miranda, the food and beverage manager at Glass Lounge is a wizard with the cocktail. He'll make a Mormon into a alcoholic. I highly recommend his American Graffiti or his smoking manhattan. Classy, quaint, clean, everything you could want in an upscale cocktail bar. read more

This bar is right in the Hyatt. Unlike other bars in hotels, I think Hyatt owns this one. I like strong drinks and chose the Smoke & Glass manhattan. Check out the video I uploaded. It was great for entertainment and taste. The bartenders are experienced, attentive, and friendly. The space is not too big or small for the area. More lounge music would be good. After walking through town and not finding a bar that was the right fit, we walked past this place...then turned back around and went in. We are so glad we did! The bar was mostly empty when we first walked in around 8, but quickly filled in with all types of people. There is a dark corner with couches, several tables, a good size bar with a cool blue backdrop and a few chairs/table right in front of a big screen tv. We set up shop in front of the TV to watch March Madness and sip a few cocktails (ok, 3 each). YUM! A fruity and delicious. The bartenders were very friendly and as soon as we stood up and made eye contact, our next round was on the way. Compared to Boston bars, we found the prices reasonable at approx $11 each. The best part of our already wonderful experience at Glass was how employee (maybe manager?) Mike was so determined to get us a cab home safely to our hotel at the end of the night. He tried uber and other cab companies before finally making contact. He even walked us down the street to catch the cab amongst the mob of people at 1am closing time in the Old Port in order to ensure we actually got the cab he called for us. We were floored by the sincere and thorough customer service, which is so very rare this day in age! (P.S. I'm 31 years old) read more
