Came here for a quick nosh before heading to nearby whale watching. The booths were comfortable and inner decor was really cool! Service was good. Pretty slim menu for lunch food but we did ok, still pretty interesting choices. The pretzel bites were so delicious and filling! I am still thinking about it, especially with the side mustard and beer cheese. My friend enjoyed her deviled eggs and my husband enjoyed his octopus salad.

This is such a cool speakeasy with unique drinks! I got the fruit by the fleet which was so yummy and smooth. I love the fruit leather that it came with and the heart shaped pick. It was refreshing and a little sweet, while not being too sweet. My friend's drink was also very smooth and loved the captain crunch powder that was on the lime. The bartenders were all attentive and nice! I love the red light ambiance all around, and seating can get full fast.

Just had drinks and a pretzel but cool spot with great service and cool atmosphere. I will be back for more food another day

Another awesome Wednesday $1.00 oyster night at Blyth & Burrows. This time Emmaline & Olivia joined us. 48 oysters, 12 shrimp, 2 lobster rolls 2 jonah crab a mocktail, 2 wine & a regular cocktail. This time we had a table for 4 with cushions. I also brought in a cushion so my ass didn't get sore like it did last time sitting on a hard wooden stool. Our waitress today was not as engaging as our last waitperson from a few weeks ago. The hostess is awesome just as she was last time. The only thing that wasn't great were the Jonah crab; extremely small & not the best tasting. I have had great Jonah crabs in the past while living in Florida. See you next go around

We arrived without a reservation and had to wait about 20 min. We went to Papi and had a beer. When our table was ready, we were treated to a surprise.... a table in the speakeasy. The service was on point. Drinks were spirit forward as we prefer and another bonus.. we were there on a Wednesday which means a buck a shuck oysters.., yes please. Cool vibe.

Did a New England trip from NYC and had this on our list as a primary spot to go because of Yelp. The original draw was their Wednesday Social where things like crab claws are on special, oysters are a buck a shuck and things like a punch cocktail are included too. We sat at the upper bar and our bartender was Taylor. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in every cocktail she makes. It seemed that she was working the service bar so making cocktails for the entire restaurant.. she took her time with those while also balancing making sure that the few people at the upstairs bar were all taken care of which is very hard to balance as a bartender myself, so well done! We ordered sooo many cocktails and so many apps. My FAVORITE was the Tom Yum cocktail, which was without a doubt the best cocktail I've had in my entire life.... and I don't give out that compliment easily. The Jonah crab clause were very tasty and fresh, oysters were super crisp and cold, but my favorite thing we ordered were the twin lobster rolls, which was an excellent price when this place isn't super cheap overall. The lobster roll was zippy, buttery, a perfectly toasted bun with the most light and refreshing lobster meat ever. The pretzel appetizer is actually huge. They came out super hot with a mustard dip and beer cheese sauce, which was lovely. The only thing that I would skip next time is the shrimp cocktail. I didn't really enjoy it because it seemed to be seasoned maybe with Cajun and placed on a grill quickly? I was just looking for more of a traditional shrimp cocktail that night but that's ok because they were still super fresh and high-quality. Ambiance couldn't have been more cute inside. Downstairs by the bathroom is another large room with lights and there's also a hidden speakeasy of their upstairs that we will pop into next time. Please go!

My first stop for my long weekend in Portland a quick 2 minute walk from my hotel! Service was wow! From the hostess to my kind kind waitress Jess so kind! She was so helpful with picking out drinks and was truly just so personable! I sat at the window this rainy afternoon with my book, gorgeous drinks and an amazing playlist and had the best Thursday evening ever ! I got the SBNTS drink and the five second frenchie, both I was told are bottled in house and I truly loved them! So refreshing and the little bottles were fun! Great bar!

Came here for a drink with my brothers the other night. We came out on a Thursday. The rest of the street was DEAD but this place was PACKED. The vibes were great, good music and our server was very attentive, despite how many people were in the bar. We got a couple drinks - Big in Japan, S.B.N.T.S., and a mango mocktail. The Big in Japan was nice but I'm not a huge fan of coconut water so I ended up letting my brother finish it. I really enjoyed the S.B.N.T.S. though and thought it was really cool that they served their own bottled cocktail. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in town and looking for a fun spot to grab a drink!

Blyth & Burrows is a perfect little cocktail bar in the middle of one of the best shopping streets in Old Town. We were lucky to walk in for some pre-dinner cocktails on a Saturday night and snag two seats at the top level bar. There's also outdoor seating on the street and even a little speakeasy hidden in the back, but with how popular this place is, I got the vibe it's always packed. Speaking of vibes: the atmosphere here is top notch. It's dark, cozy, romantic, and really well curated. Sitting at the bar turned out to be a great move so we could take advantage of all the great recommendations from the bartenders. We started out with some oysters (all perfect) and a round of cocktails. There's all kinds of flavor profiles to choose from, but we wanted to branch out a bit at a place like this so I went with the Ranch Marauder -- which is their take on a Ranch Water, but in a very literal and very refreshing way. It was all about the fresh herbal flavors, they even call it a "Voyage to Hidden Valley". My husband went with their Tom Yum Punch (yep, you read that right) which is a milk clarified gin cocktail that literally tastes like a bowl of Tom Yum soup in the best way possible. It paired perfectly with the oysters, but it's pretty impossible to describe. You just have to visit and try for yourself. If I was a Portland local, I'd be a regular for sure. Highly recommend!

If there's one thing and one place you need to go for cocktails in Maine it is here for their tom yum cocktail. I'm still thinking about that cocktail weeks later. It tastes so clean, so perfectly balanced. I never knew tom yum could be a cocktail but it is perfection. The vibe is amazing as well. Must visit!

This place was packed on Friday evening but we managed to get a seat outside at one of the bourbon barrels. I ordered the SBNTS (a carbonated tequila drink) and my partner ordered the Ship Captain Crew (a dandelion bourbon and rhum drink). Both drinks had fantastic flavors and lovely presentations. We heard a waitress mention the speakeasy located in the back. Look for the red light, open the door and there's another bar! It was pretty neat.

Super fun spot to grab a cocktail. We sat in the speakeasy bar which is hidden behind a bookcase. Great vibes and terrific staff who are attentive and friendly. Ordered a Manhattan and a Belgium White. Both tasty and well crafted. Belgium White had great flavor. Didn't get food. Just came for drinks and to checkout the speakeasy. Worth a stop!

What a cute bar this is. The atmosphere/ambiance is dimly lit and cozy/romantic type. There is outdoor seating as well. We were outdoors then it started to rain so we were able to get a table in the back of the bar. There was a small bar in the back and a bar in front. Cool place to come for drinks with friends. I had a gin and tonic and they sadly were out of my favorite type of gin but they had my second favorite. I would come back here and hopefully the service is not as slow as it was when we were outside.

Do they have standard beer (Mich Ultra? Have friend who is not adventurous) and if not will they make a drink if its requested?

Their website has a few draft beer options as well as can options available as well. Examples like Allagash White, Carlsberg Lager, etc. They should be willing to make drink requests as well.

Does this restaurant do Oyster special on Wednesday?

    Yes, only on Wednesday

The lemon sole (fish) and octopus carpaccio (not pictured) were filled with flavor! The pork belly was very underwhelming and I would not order again. The waiter said 2-4 plates per person. I recommend starting on the lower end and adding additional dishes based on how you're feeling. The amount of food was very different from dish to dish. For example the tuna dip had way too much bread and the pork belly was very small in size. Overall I was half impressed. I wish the staff would take a moment to announce the plate as it's placed next to you or point it out on the menu for those hard of hearing and wanting to know what they are about to enjoy. However the music, overall restaurant vibe and half the dishes exploding with flavor made my experience pleasant and I will return again knowing a bit more of what to expect and looking at photos of the menu/meal options beforehand.

Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the positives. The moment I walked in, I was asked if I had a reservation, which is perfectly normal. When I said no, the host gave me a look that felt very much like, "How dare you?" before telling me I was lucky they had one spot left at the bar. Oddly enough, the bar appeared mostly empty, but whatever. I was seated in what felt like the worst seat possible--tucked into a corner right next to the POS station, where servers were constantly moving back and forth picking up drinks. It wasn't exactly a comfortable or relaxing place to sit. The bartender was pleasant enough, but the overall vibe remained off the entire time. I felt less like a paying customer and more like someone they were reluctantly doing a favor for by allowing me to be there. I ordered the lobster and crab rangoon bags, which had a nice texture but were overwhelmingly salty. As soon as I placed my appetizer order, the menu was taken away, which made me feel rushed and unwelcome. The bartender also didn't check in much throughout the meal. It's a beautiful space with good drinks, but hospitality matters. Unfortunately, I left feeling unwelcome from start to finish, and I wouldn't return.
