At our previous home, we had some trees that were planted before we moved in, and they were not doing well in the space. We contacted Sperry and the amazing Alby from Sperry came out and gave us a bid for removing the "bad" trees, and planting appropriate trees for the space. After reviewing the bid, we approved the work and got on the schedule. The crew showed up on time and immediately got to work. They worked very hard in not the best weather and finished the job in one day and everything looked great. After moving to our current home, we inherited a much larger yard that had one tree that definitely needed removed, so we called Sperry and asked if we could have Alby visit to give us a bid. Once again, Alby showed up, told us about all the trees in our yard, and agreed the tree needed to be removed. We once again approved the bid, scheduled and had the crew come out. They removed the tree and a few other items, ground the stump down and we had a "new" backyard. The latest we have used Sperry was after the ice storm. They were booked out for obvious reasons, but put us on the list for when they were available. Once again, Alby came out to look at our big maple that had been annihilated by the ice. He told us it could definitely be saved, but needed some serious trimming and lifted. We got on the books and had the crew come out once again. They topped some of our other trees, made the maple free of all the damage from the ice storm. After they finished, the maple has been regrowing wonderfully like nothing ever happened. We will continue to make Sperry our first call for any and all tree related services. Because the crew went from 3 to 2, heavy limbs, and I mean 6 to 10 inches were thrown from 30 and 40 feet onto the lawn and now have huge depressions throughout, not to mention all of the sawdust. My issue is with a receipt that just can't seem to make it from their office to my house. I have requested said receipt numerous times both via telephone calls and emails. Most requests have gone unanswered - but the two times I did get a reply it was with some lame excuse about accounting issues or computer problems. Regardless, it has been 4 months and I have still not received an invoice for the $950 worth of work I had done. For the life of me I can't figure out why a repeat customer who has spent thousands of dollars with this company is being treated so poorly. I was previously paying a teenager to mow the lawn but that was all he did. Executive Landscape Maintenance is the same price, but they also do the trimmings and clear off debris. They come by every week and keep it neat and clean. They're always professional and quick. Sometimes it's 1 guy, sometimes it's 2 guys. And bonus they're really respectful of my bratty dog who goes out and yaps at them sometimes! My son was at the house when the work began and was able to watch the work progress. He commented on how carefully the men were in cutting the branches down to avoid any damage to plants, fencing or decking. He also commented on how nice all of the men were. It took them into a second day to complete the removal but after they were done, they took the time to clean off the deck and the roof of the accumulated sawdust.
